Dr Valente ordered an MRI of the brain and referred me to a neurologist who ultimately diagnosed me with severe Lupus. Since then I've been diagnosed with multiple autoimmune conditions, all of which are severe related to the lack of treatment from my PCP. I don't know what his office looks like or anything about his bedside manner but I absolutely know that he is a competent practitioner who really listens!!

Four small cheap looking chairs covered in nasty stains in the lobby. Myself and another lady stood rather than sit on them. I waited about 50 minutes in the waiting room and then another 10 or 15 in the exam room. Dr Valente came in, shook my hand and half heartedly apologized for the wait. He glanced at my chart and said, why are you here? In a tone like he didn't understand what made me come. I responded that I have triple scoliosis 49°thoracic curve that causes pain and restricts abilities. My regular doctor had referred me to Arriosti PT, who said not safe to work with me until a spinal specialist outline what would be permissible to not harm my heart or lungs. Dr Valente had me stand up, put my hands out in front of me, pushed on them, told me to hold my arms out and pushed on them, then said 'tell them to do whatever they want'. He said I needed a specific scoliosis x-ray at Harris hospital. No paperwork or other written information was provided. The front desk said just to call Harris to make an appointment. I called nearby Harris and they said there was no order for an x-ray. The person at the hospital contacted dr. V office to get the order sent. When she finally got it, it was for a different location downtown. That all took over a week. I could not go downtown right away because of work. When Valente's office called to confirm my next appt, I said please reschedule since I had not been able to go for the x-ray. She said I should call back to reschedule because she didn't want to 'waste her time' following up. Could not believe she said that. I came here because I needed help but that didn't happen.

She never for once made a statement that showed she believed anything I complained about. She kept insinuating that it was in my head and the employees did not engage in unprofessional behaviors. I told her that if she does not have camera with sound on it then she cannot verify if what I am saying is wrong. She was not there and did not go through what I went through. I have never felt so uncomfortable before in my life and I did not deserve to be mocked and made fun of. All I did was come in for mammogram and was humiliated and used for amusement. Instead of staff working they were preoccupied with socializing and fraternizing. This is unacceptable and management should worry about retraining their staff and maybe employing more professional ones. Instead they don't feel their staff is wrong in anyway and think the customer is the problem! I was not happy with the conversation that Nora had with me and as a manager she is not going to do anything to rectify the situation. This is my 2nd review. The first one, I was frustrated, and maybe a bit unfair. I will say this -…read morewhen I called the office to voice my frustration, the young lady who answered the phone and heard a bit of my concerns, said she would ensure that Crystal (office manager) would get back to me. I was skeptical. Well, Crystal DID call me, and was super gracious and empathetic to my frustration, concerns, etc. She went way beyond any sense of "customer service", to ensure that I felt like I was being "heard". That same day, immediately after lunch, Dr. Raj himself called me as well. He was also very professional and apologetic that our paths did not cross the day of my husband's procedure. He went through part of the procedures, of what he saw, why he took biopsies and what he was concerned with. He did assure me that either he or Crystal would be the ones to reach out to me once the pathology reports came back. Fast forward about a week. Crystal reached out to me, and went thru each of the tissues biopsied. We had our follow-up today (09/25) and Dr. Raj was very personable even though it was the end of the day. He explained the next steps and assured us that the procedure would be sent to the VA to ensure their approval and payment. We feel much better with this office now.

The office staff has come off unprofessional and disorganized. They give incorrect information that they do not hold themselves accountable for and they do not give their name on the phone/introduce themselves so that you can follow up on this misinformation. It's been a disturbing mix of things from telling me their rates were $100 less than the actual cost, cancelling appointments in less than 24 hours, not returning calls and not sending lab results. Frankly, it's exhausting to deal with them. The office manager Crystal has been the only one who has a helpful demeanor and has been apologetic about the problems, but I can't give her too much credit as she hasn't returned any of my calls in the last 9 days. Since Dr. Raj works some mornings at the hospital, he may have emergencies. Our first day there they told a gentleman who came in that they called him to cancel his appointment and he showed his phone had no missed calls. They were unapologetic about making him miss work and wasting his time and he was understandably upset. He raised his voice slightly as he left and they actually LAUGHED. We were appalled and knew we wouldn't return after our follow up! That same visit was a reschedule that I was told was for 1:45pm, so we arrived at 1:30pm. After we had been there for half an hour, I was told the appointment was actually at 2:15pm but they wanted me to fill out paperwork. On that same call I had confirmed they received the paper work I had emailed Monday- so either someone isn't great with listening or isn't great with the truth. Anyway, we ended up being there for 2 hours, time I also took off work. I've had to work really hard both to get an appointment and to pay them, as they always assured me they would follow up, but never did. I had to call several times to even find out they had the referral, I called several times to confirm the amount. I don't know if they didn't return my calls because they didn't want to get yelled at for it being $100 higher than they told me or if they just don't return calls at all. Regardless, it's rude and unprofessional. If you can't work a phone, ask for me to call you back at a certain time. Still, it's ridiculous that they don't know their own prices. I was put on hold and still ended up paying about $75 over what I budgeted for. If I misquoted someone like that at my job, I would have to eat that amount- the least they could do is train the other members of the staff to take their jobs seriously and own up to their mistakes with an apology. Instead they are content to let their office manager deal with the brunt of it, which indicates she isn't holding them accountable either. They like to brag that they are great about communicating with the referring doctor, but that's inaccurate. I was told on 4 occasions that they automatically send the results to your PCP after giving you the results. It's a good thing I got a hard copy during the visit, because after 10 days and several messages I had to give my hard copy to our PCP to scan (they had zero files from Dr. Raj). Why tell me you will do something you can't manage? It ends up wasting more of my time and energy than if you were upfront and left it all to me in the first place. In regards to Dr. Raj, he is a poor listener and communicator. He literally holds the paperwork you spent time filling out with family history and does not read it, while he asks you all the questions that are in it. Then he asks you the same question 3 times in a row. He couldn't seem to understand that my husband was sent to him due to serious family history and needed some genetic testing done with his labs. It's very disconcerting to think you are paying $100-200 for 7-13 min and you aren't even being heard. He dismissed our concerns about the possible negative effects of certain medications on the liver in a way that made little sense and didn't try to help us understand. My husband requested some tests be run together to save us money and save him his issues with the needle, but Dr. Raj keeps ordering tests. When we expressed concern, he lectured us about how he doesn't get paid on tests. What do I care how much he gets paid, I care what I'm paying. His bedside manner is unapologetic and unconcerned. After dealing with his staff and the wait times, that attitude was just too much. When considering a doctor, think hard about what's important to you. It's possible he is better with patients that come to him with an existing treatment plan and less questions. This doctor may be a good fit for you, depending on your priorities, only you can decide that. I just can't imagine how frustrating it would have been to waste even more time and money with him for such little information. We have gone back to our PCP and will get a new referral if she deems it necessary.

This is a not for profit clinic that serves those in Collin County who have limited or no…read morehealthcare. It is run completely by volunteers. The staff is friendly and the medical care is awesome. Services available include medical management for conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension. Lab services are donated, as well as some diagnostics. Patient's are taught to use savings cards such as GOOD RX to get the best prices on their prescriptions, and the volunteers Physician's, NP's and PA's do their best to prescribe cost effective medications. Everyone is kind, and generous. Spanish translation is available. Social work, Diabetic Education, and Spiritual Support is also available. The only draw back is, some times walk-in's cannot be accepted because of limited volunteer staff. All and all a great place, and very needed in Plano!
