Everyone at the hospital is warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring. Dr. Lewis and his team consistently recommend the best treatment plans and care options without ever making us feel pressured to purchase unnecessary services, which sets them apart from other clinics. As a fellow Cavalier King Charles owner himself, Dr. Lewis truly understands the breed, which gives us even more confidence and trust in his care. We are so grateful to have found him and highly recommend HB Pet Hospital!

I've been going to this vet for about 3 years or so. The first visit I saw Dr. Lewis and brought…read moreone of my Maine Coon cats. First thing he said was I'm not really a cat person but this is a cool cat. Right there I should have found another vet. From then on. I was booked with Dr. Nichols who turned out to be a temporary vet. Now he has has Dr. French another temporary vet. Last Tuesday, I had one of my cats scheduled for 12:00 noon for an exam and vaccinations (with Dr. French) Anyway, I couldn't find my cat anywhere. This has never happened to me before and I've never missed a doctor visit. I felt terrible. I called the doctor's office right away, at around 12:02 p.m. I told the receptionist I couldn't find my cat. They said they could reschedule me later that day but I was unavailable. Then after seeing one of my other cats climb into the cat carrier, I asked them is my other cat due for an exam? I was put on hold for 2 to 3 minutes then when the receptionist returned to our call she said yes they are due for an exam. Great. Can I bring her over? I live like 1 minute or less away. She put me on hold again. This time for 3 or 4 minutes and said no your appointment is now missed. By the time she got back to me it was 12:08 to 12:10 p.m. Anyway, very frustrated. I decided to just make a new appointment. I was then informed I am on an alert list and will have to pay a deposit or prepay visit. I'm done with this place! Update: Carla the Manager called me and offered to remove the alert on my account if I remain a customer. I told her I need to think about it. And after some careful thought and consideration, I decided I will not be returning as a customer. I'm looking for a veterinarian with compassion, caring and a love of all animals. Dr. Lewis did help one of my cats through a brief illness and I really appreciate that. However, after I made a mistake and missed an appointment by mere minutes and was told I have to pay ahead even though I paid thousands to them is so insulting. The front office of any clinic is so important and if they aren't able to bend a little once in awhile.. I'm out.

I'm so done with this place. I had been a loyal client for 20 years until this past month. The…read moreratings here used to be really high until they were sold to a larger vet company. This seems to be the trend in the industry. Small independent vets getting purchased by the big guys. Next comes the push for profits, the needless upselling and the complete loss of confidence that the vet acts in your best interest. My dog injured himself during play time. A CCL injury (similar to an ACL in humans), the most common in dogs and cats. I brought him in and met with Veronica Botros. She never touched my dog. Just heard about the symptoms and immediately ordered a full blood panel and X-rays. Stated that surgery was probably needed and the blood panel was necessary to see if the anti-inflammatory and pain meds would be a problem on his stomach. I was also talked into a deep ear cleaning and a supposedly new two-phase vaccination. When I saw the costs for everything, I pushed back. All of a sudden, they dropped the price of the blood panel by only screening for what was needed in the first place. Total upselling garbage. My dog is suffering and they are padding the bill. I was there for three hours. I finally got a bill for $900 and was told that someone would view the X-rays and get back to me. A day later, they emailed stating his CCL was indeed torn and surgery was recommended. $4,900 estimate. My bullshit meter was in overdrive. She never touched him! We spent the next two weeks keeping the dog under limited movement and treating with the prescribed meds. He got better but was still favoring the leg. I went out and got a second opinion from my vet in Tustin that takes care of my cat. We have used him since we have some unique issues with the cat and this guy was highly recommended. When this vet saw my dog, he performed a cranial drawer test, something that AAA never performed. He said the ligament was "partially" torn and surgery was not recommended at this time. AAA recommended 6-8 weeks of 100% crate rest. Plus, another 6-8 weeks after surgery if we took that option. That would be pure torture for my little guy. The new vet says to slowly exercise with short slow walks and the same type of limited movement we have been doing. Surgery may still be needed down the road but this is a much more viable option for my family. I can no longer recommend AAA and refuse to go back there. Profits over patients.

We truly appreciated the time he took to explain his findings and procedure in detail, which gave us a lot of reassurance and confidence. The next day, we discovered a second wound, and Dr. Belluz was able to see Kota immediately. She carefully treated the wound and clearly explained all of our options with patience and compassion.
