From the front desk to the technicians to Dr. Lewis himself, everyone is genuinely empathetic and dedicated. Dr. Lewis consistently goes above and beyond--he personally followed up daily after a more serious treatment, until Dillan was doing better. He spends ample time during each visit, thoroughly explaining his findings and recommendations. His advice and procedures are always focused on what's best for both the pet and the family, and he's very transparent and considerate when discussing financial options. I can't recommend Dr. Lewis and his staff highly enough. They truly set the standard for compassionate veterinary care.

Unfortunately, before the busy holidays, my guard slipped. I went in simply to refill a prescription for our dog, who had no symptoms of illness. Before I realized it, I had agreed to $500 in testing!! I fell for their scare tactic: suggesting that something unrelated but serious might be wrong to get me to agree to additional tests. Ugh! Clear communication and informed test consent were missing. And that's disappointing Time to find a new vet!

I took one of my miniature dachshunds in a few weeks ago for incessant vomiting, dry heaves and not eating. He took an X-ray, he showed it to me; I saw something in her intestines, I asked and he said it was gas. He NEVER mentioned stomach contents. Who would think there would be anything in the stomach after vomiting so much? He gave her an injection and also sent me home with meds. She seemed to be doing fine, until she wasn't. I ended up in urgent care this past Sunday. No vomiting but, she was crying in pain and shaking. What was found was a plushy toy head in a stool that started presenting after I got to the ER, my dog and I were waiting when this happened; I had to pull it out for her because she couldn't move it ($800+ later). After the fact I called here to report what happened, I talked to Dr. Scott. He started backtracking immediately. This could have killed my dog. He seemed quite flippant about it, he was glad it made it through, that "he learned something" and all was okay. He apologized but, what about that $600+ vet bill? No offer if any reimbursement or anything. This isn't the first time they have done something wrong but, the other two issues weren't putting my dogs' life in danger; I had come to pick up my dogs from boarding, I was told to wait, then someone else came in for the same reason and was helped immediately. Exams and what not were performed that weren't needed nor asked for (except nail clipping) while they were boarded but, obviously I was charged for it. While I understand that vets are human; why wasn't this X-ray sent to radiology? What if that plushy toy head hadn't made it through her small intestine? I would have a dead dog. I have been coming here for almost 20 years. Sadly, after this epic screw up, I will be looking for a new vet sadly. Also, through the grapevine it was told to me they charge 2X the amount of other vets. Dr. Chris is amazing but, I can't run the risk of my dogs being seen by another vet at this establishment. Thank you to Dr, Shepard, Dr. Girgis (Dr. Chris' dad and I was very sad to hear he passed away, he was such a wonderful man) and Dr. Chris for taking such good care of my lovable beasts. I have been very loyal to this establishment, makes me sad the decision that is necessary to make.

I'm so done with this place. I had been a loyal client for 20 years until this past month. The…read moreratings here used to be really high until they were sold to a larger vet company. This seems to be the trend in the industry. Small independent vets getting purchased by the big guys. Next comes the push for profits, the needless upselling and the complete loss of confidence that the vet acts in your best interest. My dog injured himself during play time. A CCL injury (similar to an ACL in humans), the most common in dogs and cats. I brought him in and met with Veronica Botros. She never touched my dog. Just heard about the symptoms and immediately ordered a full blood panel and X-rays. Stated that surgery was probably needed and the blood panel was necessary to see if the anti-inflammatory and pain meds would be a problem on his stomach. I was also talked into a deep ear cleaning and a supposedly new two-phase vaccination. When I saw the costs for everything, I pushed back. All of a sudden, they dropped the price of the blood panel by only screening for what was needed in the first place. Total upselling garbage. My dog is suffering and they are padding the bill. I was there for three hours. I finally got a bill for $900 and was told that someone would view the X-rays and get back to me. A day later, they emailed stating his CCL was indeed torn and surgery was recommended. $4,900 estimate. My bullshit meter was in overdrive. She never touched him! We spent the next two weeks keeping the dog under limited movement and treating with the prescribed meds. He got better but was still favoring the leg. I went out and got a second opinion from my vet in Tustin that takes care of my cat. We have used him since we have some unique issues with the cat and this guy was highly recommended. When this vet saw my dog, he performed a cranial drawer test, something that AAA never performed. He said the ligament was "partially" torn and surgery was not recommended at this time. AAA recommended 6-8 weeks of 100% crate rest. Plus, another 6-8 weeks after surgery if we took that option. That would be pure torture for my little guy. The new vet says to slowly exercise with short slow walks and the same type of limited movement we have been doing. Surgery may still be needed down the road but this is a much more viable option for my family. I can no longer recommend AAA and refuse to go back there. Profits over patients.

I only waited five minutes, and Skittles was seen by a vet tech (I think her name is Zia). She was AMAZING. She is definitely a cat person, and she was so loving towards Skittles! Very knowledgeable as well. Dr. Saini came in and spent a little time with her, checking her eye because she had a cloudy area on her cornea. He did a test that showed it was likely scar tissue, and we got her tested for Herpes and Calcivirus (she was negative for both). He did hear a slight heart murmur, but we are hopeful she will grow out of it. When I was concerned over the next few days about the color of her stools (black, but not tarry), one of the vet techs took the time to call me and reassure me she was okay. I was also impressed that the owner of the practice, Dr. Mann, called me to check up on everything and give me the good results from the viral test. I have had vet techs and front desk workers call me with news in the past, and it is much more reassuring coming from a vet.
