We called around to some near by animal hospitals to get our very old and very sick kitty…read moreeuthanized. They were the most reasonable but I was blown away at how compassionate and caring they were when we got there. We got in right away, waiting room and exam room were clean and tidy. The vet tech and dr were absolutely amazing. They gave us a little glass jar with our cats fur inside with a cork and a little charm and note card which I will write my cats name and dates on..,.it was very sweet and so thoughtful and my family and I are so grateful they did that. We have a little sweet something to remember her by. The euthanasia while heart breaking was so easy and went so smoothly. They did a wonderful job with us and 100% my mom and I are already switching vets to this place. 10/10 would absolutely recommend coming here.

The Medical Red Flag: Years ago, I brought my dog in with classic Cushing's symptoms. My concerns were dismissed because her initial blood work was "normal." It took a year and a different vet at the same practice to finally listen--by then, the disease had already caused serious damage to her liver and kidneys. While the staff was compassionate during her end-of-life care, the initial delay in diagnosis was a hard pill to swallow but Cushing's is difficult to diagnose so I reserved judgement. The Final Straw: Today was the breaking point. I brought my other pet in for a painful growth that they previously told me to just "watch." Despite years of being an on-time customer, I was 12 minutes late due to local school traffic (which was 100% my fault, not theirs). I was immediately hit with a $17 "late fee" that was never disclosed during booking. The Bottom Line: This clinic has no problem making you wait 30+ minutes in the lobby or exam room, but they will penalize a long time , loyal client the moment the tables are turned. When your pet is in pain, you want a partner in care, not a business that feels like it's nickel-and-diming you at every turn. I could see if I had a history of late or missed appointments. I don't and given the track record, would have appreciated a warning for the next time. But now there won't be a next time. If you're looking for proactive diagnostics and a practice that values long-term clients, look elsewhere. There are better options nearby that prioritize the animal over the late fee.

YES you will wait 1.5-2 hours past your appt time. If you do a walk-in, u will wait longer…read more The shortest wait is coming first thing in the morning before patients build up. One time on Sat morning, I waited only 45 min to be seen! lol Yelp says he closes at 5, but i made an appt before at 4:30 and we were still at the office at 8pm finishing up with the doctor. This guy is a workaholic. His prices cannot be beat so if you don't mind paying up to double more somewhere else, then go to the another vet. If you are willing to wait to save money, come here. Ex: other vets quote $450 for an anesthetic teeth cleaning, if you have any extraction, it can cost you $1k. Dr Kim prob charges half that, but you will be picking your dog up at midnight. So weigh the pros and cons and decide. I have another vet I also use for minor issues when I'm short on time. One of our dogs got cancer on his paw, and my other vet told me it's not operable on the law and you will need to go to vet oncology and run tests and possible amputation and it will run you $10-15k. The dog was almost 15yo so obv we decided against that especially if he might not make it thru surgery/chemo. Then, we took him here for a second opinion. dr Kim also said that vet oncologist would cost that with amputation but the dog had hip dysplasia so obv amputation was not feasible. We told him that's too much for a 15yo dog. Then Dr Kim said he will operate to try to remove the tumor without testing for metastases first, if that's what we wanted to try. So we agreed to take a chance. He did a beautiful operation. Clear margins and beautiful stitch work. However, the cancer was too aggressive and turned out to be metastatic so it grew back. But he still bought our dog some time before he had to be put down at a fraction of $10k. I could tell he really wanted to save the dog and avoid putting him down. He truly loves animals. Yes he's human and he makes mistakes like all of us, but I think he's truly acting in the animals best interest to save as many as possible. Just look how freaking busy his office is. Testament to his skills. I'll still wait at his office for 2-3 hours if that's what it takes for anything serious. However if I just need a routine check up, then I'll go to my neighborhood vet to save time.

I was impressed by how well Dr. Aaron Kim performed their first exams and administered their vaccinations. On June 2, 2026, I found that two of my other kittens were experiencing cold, pink eye, and a poor appetite. Although Maru and Suki didn't have an appointment, Brenda, the front receptionist, accommodated them immediately. Later, we were called into the exam room, and my two kitties were assessed by Dr. Aaron Kim. Antibiotics were prescribed and they were also given KMR milk and Hill's URGENT CARE chicken pate to help boost their appetite. As of this writing, June 05, 2026, I've seen improvement in their appetite, and their eyes have cleared as well! They're more energetic and playful. Thank you, Anchor Animal Hospital Team for your love and care of the pets! I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to find a vet for their pets.

This review is long overdue. I've been bringing my dog, Chelsea, to OC Veterinary for 10 years,…read moreever since I moved her down from the Bay Area. Chelsea recently passed away at 17, almost 18. She had such a long, happy life because of the care she received here. Chelsea was my baby, and I know how hard it can be to find a good vet. Pets can't talk, but you can see when they are genuinely cared for--and Chelsea got the best care at OC Veterinary. From the receptionists to the doctors, she was loved by everyone, and I am so grateful for that. Chelsea saw both Dr. Horn and, mostly, Dr. Nikki--both are exceptional veterinarians. We saw Dr. Nikki the most, and we had a very special connection with her. After Chelsea passed, Dr. Nikki even reached out to check on us, which was incredibly kind. She is practical, compassionate, and everything you could want in a vet. Chelsea also saw the groomer, Heather, who was very gentle and careful with her. Chelsea had back issues and was an older little lady, so it was comforting to know she was in safe hands. Sandra and Steve also made a big impact on Chelsea's life, especially Steve. They cared for her like she was their own family. Steve even called to check on us after Chelsea passed, which meant so much. I'm sorry this review comes so late, but I feel Chelsea would have wanted me to write it, and I want to honor her memory. No one enjoys visiting the doctor, but I am so grateful that we found such a wonderful facility to care for Chelsea. I loved her with all my heart, and after our family, OC Veterinary loved her most.

On February 16, 2026, I took my dog in for a rabies shot and paid a $65 exam fee. However, I felt that the doctor did not conduct a thorough check-up. The doctor checked my dog's heart and discovered that he has a heart murmur. He suggested that we do a chest x-ray, but I did not have time that day, so I asked to return on another day. The very next day, I called to inquire about scheduling a chest x-ray for my dog since we had just seen the doctor yesterday . I asked if the exam fee would be charged again for the chest x-ray, and the receptionist informed me that I would need to pay the $65 exam fee again to see the doctor before the x-ray. I don't understand why another exam is necessary just to perform the chest x-ray when we had just been there the day before. Instead, I took my dog to 5 Points Companion Animal Hospital in Huntington Beach, where he received a thorough examination. I was able to get the chest x-ray done there as well. When I asked the receptionist at 5 Points if I could return at a later date without being charged another exam fee, they told me it would be fine as long as I came back within 30 days. This experience with Garden Grove Dog and Cat Hospital has made me feel like they are more focused on making money rather than providing quality care. I will not be returning to this clinic.

When you are in a moment of deep duress, faced with sudden, heavy decisions in the middle of the night, you need empathy. We were the only patients there, yet the care felt as cold as the human medical system. We felt backed into a corner with no good options: either take our dog's lifeless body home to wait for our regular vet to open, pay around $250 just to hold his body for a few hours, or choose their cremation service through West Coast Pet Memorial. We were handed a total bill from West Coast Pet Memorial for the cremation without a transparent breakdown of the hidden costs from CASE Animal Hospital --we weren't told the clay paw print was $67, the individual cremation was $300, and the urn was $0, bringing the total to $372.87 (before shipping). At CASE we were given this pamphlet and nothing more. On top of that, we had to choose between a $30+ shipping fee or driving all the way to Temecula for pickup. I thought I was making the most compassionate choice by not taking my dog's body home to wait, but I regret it. For context, The Animal Doctors - Anaheim provides a beautifully thought-out, reasonable package (when our cat passed, we received a lovely wooden box with a gold lock, memorial canvas tote, and a clay paw print included). I expected that same level of dignity here, but instead, it felt entirely corporate.
