Went in the middle of February for my appointment. I was new in town and asked a friend who he used for accounting (he has since fired West Accounting and profusely apologized to me for sending me there). My appointment was to set up a new LLC and get advice on starting a new business. During the appointment, Reed West asked if I wanted them to also do my taxes as I said that would be fine. A month passes. No word. I call and they say it will be a couple more days. Another two weeks pass. No word. I'm emailing, I'm calling, nothing. Finally an email from Reed: we are too busy with tax season to deal with the LLC, will get that after tax season ends. In the meantime, I FINALLY get my taxes back the night before the deadline--basically no time to review anything. It took two months to do my taxes, all the while I'm stressing because they suck at communicating. Jump ahead a month and I go into the office to pick up my source documents to take them to another accountant to redo my taxes and finally get my LLC set up (he did it in 10 minutes while I was sitting there), and West Accounting couldn't find my source docs because they are so frickin unorganized. I had to come back three days later to give them time to look for them. Hey, it's your choice. Go here if you want, but please read the reviews and think long and hard about it. There are wayyyyyy better options!!! And since I'm still sitting in their parking lot writing this review, if any of you do feel so inclined to still walk and trust your finances to these clowns, tell them to hire a landscaper. Their exterior is an exact replica of the mess you can expect to find on the inside as well. Good luck.

Our family's experience with Mark Barnes, an associate at Michelle Turpin PC was negative. He…read morerefused to give his Utah State Bar number when asked, scheduled a meeting he was 40 minutes late for, then changed the location at the last minute which is very unprofessional and rude. He made unsubstantiated allegations to try to deceptively create evidence in the court case. When his message was presented to police, they explained Mr. Barnes was trying to corroborate his false accusations by using misleading language. While in court he accused his own witness, lawyer Miles Brody of Moody Brown Law, of being a liar. He shamelessly discredited Mr. Brody's testimony in front of the judge, just so he could win his case. Mr. Barnes was unprepared for court, turning his evidence in only hours before the trial when it was asked to be submitted 5 days prior by the court as to gain an unfair advantage. I do not recommend Mark Barnes and would seek representation elsewhere because of his disgraceful behavior in and out of court, not confirming if his facts were accurate, and unable to provide evidence to verify his statements. I am unfamiliar with Michelle Turpin because I only dealt with her associate, Mark Barnes.

At no fault to them, our tax return got delayed and we got a letter from the IRS saying we were only getting a portion of our refund. I was willing to pay him a straight fee for the consultation. He spent 20 or so minutes looking at the numbers and said I should have a small gain. I specifically asked if I needed to sell more stock at a loss to offset those gains and he said NO. I should get a small refund. After his secretary called me to come in and sign the forms she casually said that I owe over $8,000 combined. He didn't have the courtesy to call me directly. Both voicemails have been full for 5 days so I couldn't leave a message and he did not respond to my email. I finally spoke to him and he casually said just sell some stock to pay for it. No apology, no admittance of his error, no responsibility. This is the second time a UT CPA has screwed up my taxes. The first time this big firm just forgot to file my taxes and if I hadn't called to follow up would not have noticed they forgot. WRD

He gives very bad legal advice which included stop going to the doctor. The firm seems to want to work cases with larger settlement amounts. He missed out on a maximum settlement payout because of bad legal advice, poor judgement and poor communication. Communication was awful spanning months including an incident where the insurance company informed me first and later that my cases had been dropped. I would not recommend working with him.There are much better attorneys out there that demonstrate more interest in helping their clients.(This program would not post my review without giving a star, so I had to input 1 star rating. They deserve no stars.)
