Omakase in CDMX! It was delicious. Sometimes it's hard to know if a yelp rating is legit making it even harder to know if a restaurant is as good as someone says it is. We live in the Bay Area California and love Japanese. Gin Chan did not disappoint.

Stopped in for drinks and a light dinner. No Mex price break here. I eat a lot of sushi in Los Angeles and the price was the same. Food was good and service by Koichi was awesome. June 2022

Cute spot, takes credit card, chef is super sweet and attentive. I highly recommend the omakase, I didn't take pictures but it was multi course and super worth it! The house sake is good and comes in a cute carafe, the fish is good quality, the chirashi Maki roll is good, the omakase nigiri supreme is good, but the best value item is the chef omakase. Super worth it and I recommend to get the one that comes with the house sake. You won't regret it!

There are many sushi restaurants in CDMX and I'm glad I chose this one.

A solid spot if you're looking for Japanese food. We walked in without reservation for a late lunch…read moreand found it wasn't busy. The weather was nice, so we sat in their covered patio area. You can scan the QR code to pull up the menu. It was in both Spanish and English. The menu was extensive, a little something for everyone. There was ramen, rice bowl, udon, sushi, sashimi, shabu, maki, nigiri, etc.   I tried the maguro mix don that had chu-toro, o-toro, and akami on top of white rice. This was a perfectly balanced meal. A good fatty texture on the sashimi. Rice to fish ratio was also good. It was refreshing from all the food we've been eating in CDMX. We all enjoyed our don and ramen.   Service was a bit slow regarding when our food came out but they brought out everyone's food at the same time. The restroom was clean as well. The indoor seating looks spacious. Overall, we enjoyed our meal here and would recommend this spot if you're looking for Japanese food in the Roma Norte area.

I had dinner at Kura with my mom and brother a week or so ago when we were in Mexico City on…read morevacation. My mom is vegan, so I had looked for restaurants with vegan options that my brother and I would also be excited to eat at. Kura's menu looked great - vegan options clearly marked (and plenty of them) and tons of options that my brother and I struggled to decide between. The menu is huge! The restaurant is beautiful - very modern and cool and very Japanese in design. The service was also great - very friendly and helpful. My mom had a vegan ramen and some vegan yakitori (shiitake mushroom). She enjoyed her dishes. We had a harder time deciding, because the menu is so large and includes so many dishes that are harder for find (nattō, chawanmushi, Hotate Butter Yaki, and so many more). Ultimately, we decided to share okonomiyaki, wagyu sando, mackerel sushi, and unagi. Everything was very good, but the wagyu sando, mackerel sushi, and unagi were our favorite dishes. I also enjoyed a glass of wine from their great beverage menu (sake, shōchū, cocktails, beer, and wine). This isn't your average Japanese restaurant menu. It has sushi, but it also has a million dishes popular at izakayas. The menu is huge - maybe even too expansive?! The food was very good. The wine was a great accompaniment to the meal. The service was great. Overall, it was a very good meal. One I'd be happy to repeat when I'm back in Mexico City.

Kura - Duck robata, also good. Most places I visited don't have duck robata, so I thought giving it a try
