Gina was my ex husbands attorney back in 09 she completely raked him over the coals for every penny she could get. including leading him to believe even after we were divorced thaf he needed her services. lying and making him promises of things she could get for him. She has big mouth and finally when it was too late my ex husband fired her. False promises. Having to deal with this woman to sign off final divorce papers was an absolute nightmare. She made the biggest ass out of herself. I came out winner in situation as we went through mediation. She kept continuing everything and then she files a notice of appearance on a contempt hearing I had been waiting months to nail this guy at and she steps on mybtoes, butts in and totally loses the case and makes me look bad. I filed for divorce to leave a long marriage that should've ended years ago. Instead of helping resolve matters, Gina escalated tensions and acted with shocking unprofessionalism. She was a family friend of my ex-husband's and must've given him a great deal because she didn't do anything but drag the process out until I was out of money. And it felt as though her main priority was making me suffer. She showed up late to mediation and clearly didn't take it seriously. Beyond her inability to submit paperwork when it was due, causing more expenses on my part, she continued to file motions that were redundant and useless. She submitted false and misleading documents, ignored key facts, and refused to acknowledge the reality of what my children and I were facing. Even my ex-husband admitted from the beginning that Gina told him he could look forward to seeing me bankrupt by the end. That's not just unethical--it's cruel. She was frequently rude, used foul language, and failed to follow through on critical parts of the case. Her lack of professionalism actually caused her own client to end up owing me money because of the damage she created. My attorney had to work twice as hard--and charge me more--just to respond to the mess Gina left behind. What should have been a legal process focused on protecting children and ensuring a fair outcome turned into a nightmare because of her actions. If you're considering hiring Gina Costello for family law--especially in a high-conflict situation--I strongly urge you to think twice. Zero stars isn't an option. Absolutely the worst experience with an attorney I have ever had. I had one meeting with her that's it during which I prepaid about 70% of her fee. She told me very clearly she wouldn't begin work till paid in full. Well after a month or so I got an invoice billing me for the meeting at almost 500$ I thought oww but ok what ever well struggling as a single parent of 4 trying to work full time and keep up on bills I just wasn't quite able to come up with the remaining 1600$ or so of her fee.. well thankfully things worked them selves out and I contacted the office via client portal which is what I was told to use for communication and how I was sent the first invoice. This is were i started getting concerned around 14 days after I requested a return of unused funds I finally get a response telling me I have to wait 30 days. Ok fine no big deal so I wait and the 30 day mark comes around and nothing. No response to communication no anything finally around the 40 day mark I said I would be contacting the bar association and then I got a response a few days later I was told an invoice and refund check was in the mail... I got that today.. almost $2000 is what this woman billed me for some of the dates on the invoice are dates that should of been on the original invoice and since she said she wouldn't start work till paid in full... Not that I think any of this work was actually done but even if it was it shouldn't of been, and it should of been on the invoice originally not back dated and added in a last minute "audit". Anyway long story short a 30 minute meeting cost me and my kids almost $2000 I will be filing a grievance with the bar. Absolutely steer clear of this attorney! read more

I am an existing client of Gina's and I am shocked and stunned at what i just read below in these 2 "reviews"! I am absolutly not an employee as the statement claims, or have ever been associated previously with Gina prior to recieving her glowing referral from everyone i spoke to in Spokane, from close friends, family, my personal trainer and clients, to people at Starbucks and friends of friends and other local lawyers. Its is a little unbelievable that over 20 people would flat lie to me about Gina being amazing! It seems clear that these ladies that wrote these mean and completely unbelievably false reviews, have a lot of learning to do, and could stand to learn some very basic kindergarden principles and values from examining closley their own bitter and prejudice writing about being a person of character and conscience and having integrity and honor in your professional business dealings, it sounds like Gina got the short end of the stick with these ladies. Both of these reviews are horribly tactless, rude, vulgar and a mercenary type of writing, for no other reason than they didn't like the outcome of their cases. Gina can only work with what she is given and is literally at the mercy of the court and the judges in authority positions. Let me tell you who Gina really is! Gina is very authentic, forthright, genuine, reliable, trustworthy, undisguised, ethical and very frank. She is extremely principled and generously charitable to help you with regular payments every month. She knows how hard it is for people to come up with money for these issues and is very empathetic and caring and willing to work with you. Gina is excessively over qualified and profecient in her abilities, effecient and detailed! She is constant and decisive and VERY firm in court, and will fight to the end for you! She is tough as nails being an Italian! She is perservering, serious, strong minded, unfaltering, brilliant, resourceful and so effective in her talents and techniques as a lawyer. As her client you have to have a back bone and be prepared to let her do her job as she is very capable of doing it and respect her position and trust her timing! Terrible person and incompetent lawyer. She is a bully and not once in our court proceedings was she able to represent me correctly. She spent most of the time in front of the judge ill prepared and apologizing for lying to the courts because it was impossible for her to keep her facts straight. She has created ENORMOUS debt in my family's life without getting anything accomplished and when I questioned her and her abusive paralegal, they threatened to drop me. I reside outside of Washington State and it appears she has a pattern of taking money from people who do not live in Spokane. She created fear in us that if we didn't have her wealth of knowledge and ability to convey the truth, we would loose our children to an abusive alcoholic when we had gone to court over a vacation portion of our parenting plan. Not once were the horrific events that my children and I survived told to the court. Not once did she tell the court about the physical abandonment that has taken place with my children and that of his other children. Nor was his pattern of abuse even mentioned. Or the fact that his new wife is an abuser as well. She did nothing to protect my children. She kept telling us that everything was fine when in fact she lied to us about court orders resulting in wasted trips to Spokane and unnecessary contempt charges. There was little to no communication from her, months would go by with emails left unanswered and phone calls never returned. She needs to be reported to the Bar association and her licence revoked. At least forced to pay back all the money she has taken from her "clients". Even after this woman has $11,000.00 of my hard earned money, she still doesn't know why we are in court! I just received an email from her stating a completely false objection on their end that was ruled on a year ago. She is impossibly checked out and I wish that I would have been stronger to see through her bologna sooner. This is by far the worst experience I have had in dealing with a lawyer, someone with whom I have paid to work for me!! She is the worst person with communicating along with many other things. There were times when the opposing party knew about papers that I supposedly submitted before I even did. Her paralegal even told me that they can sign per my behalf even when I don't agree with what they had written up. Multiple times I was given misinformation.
