That part was messed up, but I heard in recent years the Magnet Program is no longer implemented -- which is pretty controversial. I feel that all kids should have access to the accelerated learning I did. I remember the days of lock-ins, Read-a-thons, rollerskating, and popcorn. I also remember some great teachers. One thing that is still true is the fact that they have the best playground on this side of the planet. It is a smorgasbord of castle-time fun. I went there with a group of friends recently to drink Bud at 3am and we went down slides and swung, then tried to get into the school but got kicked out by a rent-a-cop. I feel like I have to apologize for this but it's funny, we had all been the good kids at Doyle Ryder back in the day!

The lack of respect and care for the students genuinely shows. The faculty lacks empathy and is…read moreconsistently rude for the smallest reasons. Nobody helps, checks in, or thinks about the students individually. All they care about is making sure your off your phone and not failing classes. Instead of asking if the students are ok or asking why they might be late, absent, or struggling with work they are scolded and told to "do better" as per the assistant principle. The only person that cares is Steph, our beloved office lady who actually cares if we are failing, absent, or having issues outside of school. Do better LFHS :((((
