Two years ago, I was led down the primrose path by a sales rep who sang YP's praises about marketing my insurance agency. I was told that I was buying a customer generation campaign, given a monthly fee and told there commitment of 6 months. My rep also told me that I could exit the contract after 3 months if I was completely unsatisfied or if I was seeing no benefit or experienced no response from prospective customers. Three months came and went, and you guessed it - zilch - nada - nothing. Not even an inquiry. I spoke to my rep and she informed me that my contract would be cancelled.... Then the bills started coming and, you guessed it, I was getting billed for my time BEYOND three months. Repeated calls to my rep actually made my experience WORSE. I was PROMISED I could disregard these bills and that my contact cancellation was making it's way through the corporate channels. Then I received a call from collections. After giving them my case number and the rep's name, they informed me that my case was never discharged and was still responsible for the entire bill even though I had voiced my dissatisfaction and put a cancellation through 18 months prior. My final call to my rep was met with, "Well, them's the brakes". Not even an apology. Hindsight is 20/20 and yes, I SHOULD HAVE taken YP to small claims court. Instead I got an attorney to negotiate the bill down. In the end, the long and short of it is that I got swindled. And while I am within $150.00 of the liability being paid off, I want you to think long and hard about signing ANYTHING with these fuckers. The reps who sell you have absolutely no power when you experience an issue. Don't get taken by these people.
