In my past life, I spent a whole lot of time standing, walking, not sitting, which has lead to funky feet syndrome. Now, I abuse those feet keeping time to music, attempting to get chosen for Dancing with the Stars. Hence the need for comfortable dance shoes. Well, I got lucky and did not have to travel to Michigan because this company brought their entire inventory of shoes to Chicago for a dance competition. They carry a wide range of manufacturers so trying on those shoes is a necessity because they are all cut, shaped differently. I found the saleswomen to be most accommodating and they spend a great deal of time finding just the right shoe. Shoes can even be special ordered in 2 different sizes, if that be required. True, dance shoes tend to be pricey, with special straps, special buckles, different heel heights (for different dances), and special soles. I know, too much info. When told the cost, I once overheard a man ask if he couldn't just wear bowling shoes ~ knock 'em dead Fred. Since I have been challenged to a Tango showdown by some young whippersnapper next week-end, I need to be prepared. I purchased 3 new pair, no excuses. DANCE ON.

I am 83 years old and need a shoehorn to put on shoes. Can you believe that they did not have one in the golf department. One of their employees told me they have never had a shoehorn in golf. They checked the shoe department and they didn't have one either! It would seem to me to be a major failing on the part of the store manager and both department managers not to have something as basic as a shoehorn in a store that sells shoes. I left frustrated and without buying the $190 golf shoes. Dick's is heading in the same direction as other box store who have lost their customer base. They appear to have forgotten who pays the bills to keep the store open. If I wanted to buy shoes and try them on at home, I would have ordered them on Amazon.
