On the hunt for doner kebab while out and about our group landed here for a quick lunch on our way to the castle while exploring Heidelberg. Overall it's not a bad place to grab a fast lunch. The service is kind and fast, it's affordable, and it tastes fine. So why three stars? Honestly it's because this isn't a true doner kebab. The meat is okay and the toppings are fine, but it's not served on pita bread and instead is in a semi crunchy kind of tortilla, which kind of hampers the experience. I was hungry and it definitely hit the spot, but was probably one of my least favorite kebabs I've had in Europe.

Showed up to this place after a different burger place didn't have enough seating. Overall, an A-OK…read moreexperience with the following comments: -difficult to get seating with a big party (the spaces in the back don't offer enough seats, and some people in our group had to stand and eat, including me) -a bit difficult to get the server's attention to take our order; despite not being the biggest burger spot in the world, it still took about half an hour to place our order -the servers are nice and can speak English, which is great -the sauces are bomb; made in-house, the ketchup and mayo are must-trys -burger itself seems to have a larger bun, smaller burger width-wise, but nothing stood out too much regarding taste (except for the sauce) -a bit pricey for what you get - a one person portion of fries and burger came out to over 12 euros, and my friends mentioned that 4 euros for a beer is expensive I'd say this is a good place to go for when you're craving burgers, but I'd try some of the other spots in the area first before being a regular here.

This place is definitely bigger than I thought as through the hallway you may find a few more tables with a glass-windowed kitchen where you can see how the chefs work their magic here. Staff here are extremely nice and the place is super clean. (One thing I am still trying to get used to is flies inside a restaurant - this is the only place where I did not see any.) There are quite a few choices for burgers and you are expected to order fries separately (no set meal I guess). However, all these burgers are set to impress. Though the portion is not as big, the quality is definitely there. (For those who prefer bigger burgers, there is one in Altstadt - kind of pub like and they serve nice and big burgers.) Overall I am rather pleased with this.

I am aware that there are Hard Rock Cafes in America but I've never stepped into a Hard Rock Cafe…read morebefore entering this one so I have nothing to compare it to. However, after a long vacation of not so great food all I wanted was a burger. I am not going to comment on the music or decor (besides saying it was terrible) as I am not the target demographic. But I will comment on the service. Our server was horrible. I think she might have been from America because she spoke with an American accent. Right after we ordered she went behind the bar and started whispering with her friend and rolling her eyes while looking over at our table. However, whenever she came to the table she was smiley and fake and tried to make conversation. When we first ordered two diet cokes and a ginger ale, she brought two ginger ales and a diet coke. She semi-apologized as though she had realized her mistake before getting to the table but since the had already opened the bottles, we decided not to complain. We all ordered burgers. They were alright in that I didn't get food poisoning but they were very bland. I probably would have gotten a better burger if I had gone to McDonald's or Burger King if that tells you anything. At the end of the meal, my mom ordered a water. Instead of bringing tap water, the server brought bottled water. This would have been a minor annoyance as tap water is free while you pay for bottled water. However, again she opened the bottle before coming to the table and she brought 2 bottles instead of one. At this point I was irritated and beyond giving her the benefit of the doubt. We paid for our mediocre meal and incorrect drink orders and left as quickly as possible to escape the horrible music.
