My 13 year old son has taken piano and voice lessons with Giovanna for three years and it has been a wonderful experience! She is talented, kind, funny, patient, firm and most importantly, has made learning fun for my son. His piano skills improve each week and I credit Giovanna for providing interesting music that motivates him to practice. Giovanna also caught a medical issue with my son's voice, allowing him to get treated for vocal nodes. I highly recommend Giovanna for your child's piano and/or voice lessons. She's the best! read more

Meet the Business Owner: Giovanna C.

Giovanna Confalone is a summa cum laude graduate of Boston University's College of Fine Arts (1998), where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Collaborative Piano Performance. A Boston native, Giovanna returned to Massachusetts in 2010 to pursue her Master's of Music Education degree at her alma mater. Giovanna has been a faculty member of Cambridge Music and Riverside School of Performing Arts in Boston, where she was appointed principal Music Director. Giovanna also taught at Steinert's Piano Academy before committing herself exclusively to her private studio, Giovanna's Music Studio. Giovanna has performed with members of the Metropolitan Opera, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops, Boston Lyric Opera and North German Radio Chorus (NDR) in Hamburg. She was also the founding member and music director of Boston's swing vocal ensemble "The Sophisticated Ladies." Giovanna has over 30 years of performing and teaching experience and prizes her role as teacher and mentor.

This is a cash only location so make sure you bring it with you because there is no ATM on sight. The prices were very good. All in all, I would definitely return for another type of picking, and I'd recommend it to others. The Festival runs on Feb. 26-28 & March 5-7 between 9am - 4pm. Essentially, you can create Your Own Whoopie Pie for $4 each, 4 or more at $3.50 each, and 12 or more $3 each. Here's how it works - make your customized selections of one of 12 cookies, one of 11 frostings, and one of 7 toppings, and Brecknock will build your pie. I went full Elvis mode and selected banana cookies, peanut butter frosting, and chocolate chip toppings around the circumference. We had a great time at Brecknock -making our Whoopie pies, playing a whoopie pie trivia game, and picking up a few odds and ends for us and friends. I began taking piano lessons with Giovanna in 2014 as an adult beginner. She has helped me to make my love of music part of my life! From our very first lesson I could tell how committed she was to my learning and this has not changed a bit. She is extremely knowledgeable about music (theory as well as practice) and she shares this knowledge in a genuinely warm and caring way. Her organized yet open-minded teaching style is just perfect for me and I could not ask for a better person to learn piano from! Giovanna is professional, fun, kind and extremely talented. She teaches my eight year old and I've seen her exhibit extraordinary patience and enthusiasm. My daughter has learned so much from her. Giovanna has taught my girls piano for 2+ years and they have progressed so well. She has a way of connecting with them while keeping them accountable for their practices.
