I've been a patient of Dr G's for a long while and appreciate her care from annual exams, routine questions, general illnesses, vaccinations as well as follow up to labs and specialty referrals - all thoughtful and top notch. 99% of the time I can get in within 24 hours and she now has the practice open evenings and a regular Saturday which has helped. Over covid she expanded to telehealth visits which have been great for small concerns although I still generally go to the office. There is an in-house lab making routine stuff really easy. This is the kind of family care I want. She knows me and my family, makes recommendations and sees trends from regular care vs transactional appointments in walk in clinics. And when I want a referral, and I prefer a female provider, she always has someone to suggest that is a quality provider. Cheryl, her ARNP has relocated for family, and I haven't met the new provider but expect her to carry the same values and care to her clients. Wow, I just read the other two reviews of Dr. Girolami, and I'm wondering: are we talking about the same doctor? I've been seeing Dr. G. for 15 years now, and she's always been super-responsive to me, as has the P.A. who works with her, Cheryl Allen. In fact, although I wouldn't call myself a hypochondriac, I AM super-proactive about health issues, due to some crappy genes in the ol' gene pool. So I call the office and visit whenever a pesky issue arises (for fear it's NOT really just a "pesky" issue). Dr. G. and Cheryl have always been very accessible to me (and my husband, who is also a patient). They've always returned my calls, taken the time to answer my questions, and taken my concerns seriously. I don't know the receptionist well, but she's always been pleasant to me. The nurse I've seen there has always been SUPER nice to me. Are we speaking of the same practice??? Yes, I know Dr. G. is into providing cosmetic procedures (something I will never be into, personally), but she's never even mentioned that stuff to me. She is very into sports, fitness and nutrition, and weight loss, and she's very knowlegeable about these issues (which DO interest me). Years ago, she's referred me to the most awesome OB/GYN, and other specialists, all of whom were terrific. I'll always be grateful for these references. Wow, I just stumbled across these yelp reviews as I was googling Dr. Girolami's office hours. I've been a patient for around 20 years and I am really surprised that anyone has had anything but positive experiences with this practice. But I think Dr. Girolami's bedside manner is wonderful. She always gives me plenty of time for my appointments and seems genuinely concerned about any issues or questions that I bring up. She is very competent and has treated my issues over the years very well, and has referred me to qualified specialists when needed (like when she knew right away that one of my moles was bad and sent me to a dermatologist. And yep, it was melanoma). So I have complete confidence in her medical skill, as well as her P.A., Cheryl (who is super nice as well). And for those reviews who mentioned the cosmetic services, I have never opted for those, but I see the brochures in the lobby. But that is an optional service which is just listed, but never pushed on patients (or has even been mentioned to me). Dr. Girolami is board certified in internal medicine and treats men, women and teens. Besides primary care exams, she does a wide variety of things like sports exams, travel vaccinations, thyroid screening, cholesterol management... etc. I think cosmetic services are just a small part of an overall, very well rounded practice. So I have recommended Dr. Girolami to friends and have complete confidence in doing so. Making appointments is easy, quick and convenient. The lab is on site so you get results quickly as well. Plus I have never had any insurance or billing issues with them and over the past 20 years I have had 4 difference insurance companies. read more

I really liked Dr. Girolami, however the staff is horrible. When I wanted to talk to the Dr. about some labs that had come back, the little gatekeepers that work there would not allow me to speak to the doctor, they wouldn't even take a message to pass on. My wife, being a Dr (in another area of medicine), heard me speaking to the staff on the phone, and she was absolutely appalled, said she would have fired them all on the spot if she ever hear one of her staff treating a patient with that attitude. Needless to say, I moved on. It does make me wonder about Dr. Girolami though, I mean, is it possible to be that clueless about how your staff treats your patients? read more

I had many unpleasant interactions with Dr. Girolami. I came to her to get a physical for a job I was applying for and I found her bedside manner to be appalling. Not only did she seem completely uninterested, she didn't hesitate to be completely offensive and judgmental about my medical history. I left the office in tears. In addition, I had to have her sign a form for my employer. I had typed out EXACTLY what she needed to say (literally all she needed to do was sign and date), and months later, my employer called to inform me that not only was the letter not in the right format, there was missing information, and misspellings in the medical note! I was appalled by her inability to do a simple task and had to request another copy (which she grudgingly completed after me having to call and remind the lady working at the front desk multiple times). After I finally decided to go to another physician, I told her and the nurse what had happened to me and they were horrified as well. I have been a patient of Dr. Girolami's for almost 4 years and have found the practice to be wonderful. I have found both Dr. Girolami and Cheryl to be proactive. I tend to ask a lot of questions which have always been answered completely and with patience. I have always found their bedside manner to be professional and compassionate. I have had to see specialists and physical therapists and these ladies have helped me navigate who to see and what the possibilities could be. When I have arrived in their office thinking something I was experiencing was negligible and Dr. Girolami was not convinced she proactively made an appointment for me with a specialists and it was a very good thing that she did so. I can usually get into see the Dr. or Cheryl the day I call or within 24 hours at the latest. read more

Stay away from Dr Girolami. I wasted several years with this doctor, trying to always give her the benefit of the doubt. However I have finally realized she really does not care and when you really need medical care she will not help you. She is far more interested if you want Botox or other cosmetic treatments. If so, you will even get personal welcome and thank you notes in the mail. Sickening. When I finally really needed medical care I found her to be shockingly judgmental and indifferent. Borderline criminal. I don't think anyone who is looking for a primary care physician really wants or needs that. If you want to spend $375 on Botox by all means go to Dr. Girolami. Went to my optometrist that her office was supposed to have written a referral for and that should have been waiting at their office. I was told they sent nothing. When I called my insurance to ask further about the process, I was told they don't actually have to send anything physically, that the PCP just has to be aware you are seeing a specialist and have it documented. So, why the freaking run-around? The staff is either dangerously inept or she doesn't train them adequately to deal with insurance properly or no one in her office understands how the referral process works enough to explain it to her patients. Awful. And a reassurance of changing to a different PCP. I'm done. read more

Dr. Girolami and Cheryl Allen, PA, have been my Primary Care Providers for the past 14 years. Dr. Girolami and the entire office at BelRed Internal Medicine have provided the best Health Care for my husband, mother-in-law, mother and me. In September 2017, my mother-in-law needed to be seen last minute because she was not feeling well after returning from a trip. Upon exam and an EKG (2 EKG's to confirm), she was in A-Fib, an alarming heart condition. Dr. Girolami immediately sent us to Overlake Hospital Emergency Room, Dr. Girolami alerted the Overlake Cardiologist to our arrival. The care we received from Dr. Girolami and Overlake Emergency Room/Hospital was excellent. After, 4 days of care at Overlake Hospital she was released. The follow-up care with Dr. Girolami and the Cardiologist at Overlake returned my-mother-in-law to normal heart rhythm. Dr. Girolami, Cheryl Allen, PA and the staff at BelRed Internal Medicine continue to provide me and my family with the best Health Care in the Seattle Metro Area. read more

The doc herself is Ok - she just seems tired and bored with us common flu-season victims. She's into cosmetic medicine these days, and I imagine this is more exciting than another patient with sore throat. That is, unless you ARE the patient with the sore throat, in which case her lack of interest can be quite annoying. The real problem, however, is with her staff - the nurses, who are over-confident, arrogant and extremely unprofessional, IMHO. After I gave up on their dubious services, I went to see a specialist, who was quite shocked by the treatment and answers I got from these people. This is on the verge of being irresponsible. Dr Girolami was my doctor from age 18 - 47. I can't say enough great things about her and her staff. Always been prompt, accurate, helpful and friendly. The only reason I left is because moved to the Bay Area. Wish I could have brought her with me! read more

Before moving to California, I had been a patient of Dr G for almost 20 years. I always enjoyed our candid talks and absolutely love her personality. The staff was always helpful, forgiving, and friendly. Based on some of the other poor interviews I'd just like to say that you get back what you give out. I have recommended quite a few friends and have never heard anything but positive feedback... I have a great doctor in CA now but I still miss Teresa and the staff. Probably always will. read more

Dr. G. has been my PCP for 11 years now and I have nothing but good things to say about her. She listens carefully, understands my complaints and concerns, and always works with me to choose the best treatment. I can't speak to Dr Girolami's medical competence because she would not even see me! Her staff's first question was what kind of insurance do I have. Answer-Medicare Parts A & B (Primary) and Federal Blue Cross/Blue Shield (The same coverage as US Senators, Congressmen and Cabinet members have.) I have many medical problems and have gone through several primary care physicians. I finally found one that was competent and that was Dr. Girolami. She has been my primary doctor for 3 years now. Her bed side manner is excellent. She shows a lot of interest in me personally as well as professionally. If she is not 100% sure what the problem I am having is she will refer me to a specialist and has done so on many occasions. The specialists she refers me to are and have been the top in their fields. When I have routing problems or questions she has been excellent at answering anything I have a question about. She has coordinated all of the medications I am on. If I have a problem with any medication she is very willing to try something else and listen to my concerns. I see her for my yearly as well. She tries hard to make sure I am receiving the best care possible. My husband also goes to her for his medical needs and has been impressed as well. I trust her decisions and advice. I will say that her staff isn't always the greatest and it seems like she has someone new working there almost at every visit. I think she has been working hard on finding good staffing and if it isn't working out she tries to find someone who does. Her RNP Cheryl is also great and anytime we are unable to see the doctor we are confident Cheryl will do a great job too. read more

I've been going to Dr. Girolami for close to 15 years now and I think she's great. She's always had an excellent, helpful manner, very intereted in what was going on with my health and with my life. She's called me directly when there was something amiss with my test results. I've always found her extremely smart and professional and am willing to travel 60 miles for my yearly appointments. I agree with the criticism Dr. Girolami's office has received in these reviews, and the person that wrote a positive one has to be a friend or gets completely different treatment than the rest of us have experienced. I have finally had it going to this unprofessional so called doctor's office. The smugness from the women that work there has been constant over the years. I have been really slow on giving up on this place because I loved the Dr and nurse that Dr. Girolami started with.... They retired and Dr. Girolami took over. The first Dr and nurse were absolutely wonderful! I really felt cared about by the first Dr and nurse... Went to them for years. They were always so kind for whatever ailment I saw them for. But Dr G and staff are indifferent, act like you are nothing more than a means for getting money. I will never return there and I will be happy to share my negative experiences there with anyone looking for a Dr., making sure they do not make a huge mistake thinking this group of women in medicine really care a bit about their patients .... I mean customers! These women are insulting in their total demeanor! I agree with all criticism I have read here. These women are unprofessional, degrading and arrogant. Also, it's not a professional medical office. It's a make shift office space trying to be a doctor's office. Hard to find anything modern and up to date at this office! Very old fashion! I loved the first Dr, but wow have I been wrong to keep giving the benefit of the doubt that he had actually chosen a good replacement for his kind, wonderful services...
