If you care about being proactive about staying healthy, this is the medical practice for you. I've been seeing Dr. Mark Woodall as a patient since November 2023. Before that time, I was a patient of a large medical practice in Issaquah for over a decade. I've always tried to eat well and stay fit through exercise. So it has been frustrating that the story I've received every year at my annual checkup from my primary care physician at this large medical practice is the same: some of your biomarkers are higher than ideal and we'll just watch them. No further investigation, no analysis of underlying causes, no next steps at all. After I saw Dr Woodall, I learned for the first time that there were steps that I could take to address the underlying causes of my high biomarkers. The steps that I have taken include both medicines as well as nutritional supplements based on scientific knowledge and lab testing of vitamins and nutrients my body is not absorbing well. And I'm confident that the steps that I have taken will help me stay fit, active, and healthy as I move into an older stage of life. The doctors of the practice take a holistic approach seeking the root causes of ailments rather than merely addressing symptoms as seems to be the norm for many medical practices these days due. We have been very pleased with our experience at Cascade Integrative Medicine. My 21 year old son has been fighting Lyme Disease and with the help of Dr Mark Woodall over the past 8 months he has shown positive improvements. Dr Woodall is a kind and compassionate person who spends plenty of time with his patients during each visit. It is nice to have a doctor that listens to you and he really seems to care. I want to highly recommend Dr. Mark Woodall, of Cascade Integrative Medicine. I had been dealing with a host of issues for years, which were slowly but steadily robbing me of my life. I had been to countless doctors, and done hundreds of hours of research to try and find what was causing my at times unbearable health struggles. I had been misdiagnosed, and treated for many things that were erroneous, and still felt really badly. Many people say that I'm the healthiest person they know - I eat super clean and I exercise frequently. Still, I have struggled with chronic physical and mental fatigue, malaise, brain fog and a number of other physical manifestations. For years, I have seen doctor after doctor - MDs and Naturopathic Doctors (NDs). I even sought out one of the best endocrinologists in the greater Seattle area and I continued to be told that my symptoms are normal for a 30 year old. The MDs referred me to specialists who treated me for symptoms, but no one was looking for the underlying cause. I went to Dr. Althaus based on positive recommendations, but I was skeptical because of my negative experiences with most healthcare practitioners. I was truly feeling hopeless about my deteriorating health and body. Dr. Althaus inspired so much confidence in me right away because she tested me for things that other doctors should have tested me for years ago (I have seen endocrinologists, GI doctors, immunologists). I have a lot going on - hypothyroidism, hormone imbalances, persistently high Epstein-Barr lab values, low immune system lab values and more. What a wonderful, life-changing experience! I was fortunate enough to become a new patient of Dr. Tiffany Althaus in December of 2018. At that time, she spent an extraordinary amount of time with me explaining the practice of Cascade Integrative and suggestions for my next step towards wellness. By January, I had run my first set of bloodwork and was ready for the followup with Dr. Althaus. Again, she spent a lengthy amount of time with me -- patiently explaining the extensive results of my blood work. By the time I left, I felt as if I had taken a Science class in me! It was the first time in my 40+ years, I felt cared for holistically by a doctor. I have since utilized the PT experts suggested next door as well as continue to see their Dietitian, Katie. While Dr. Althaus has suggested an assortment of supplements to support the path towards health, I do not feel obligated to purchase the supplements from Cascade. My experience vs. my husband's experience here were vastly different even though we saw the same doctor. Sadly, his situation was more serious and I don't think it got the attention needed. In the summer of 2018, I saw Dr. Woodall for a number of different symptoms, but most prominent were issues I was having with my stomach. After a SIBO test, multiple rounds of bloodwork, and months of supplements, I'd say it was resolved. The supplements do get quite pricey over the course of months, but I left fairly happy with my treatment. At least happy enough to send my husband to see him when he started having trouble swallowing food. My husband started noticing this issue toward the end of May 2019. He called to make an appointment at the end of July and he had to wait a few weeks (end of August) to be seen as a new patient. When he went and described his symptoms, no bloodwork was taken and my husband was sent home with a GI supplement and a prescription for acid reflux. Also, for some reason, they didn't submit this first appointment through our insurance, though the second appointment was). After a month of taking the medication, my husband went for a follow up visit where he said he wasn't worse and potentially a little better, he couldn't really tell. This time, my husband was sent home with instructions to keep taking the prescription and try a gluten-free, sugar-free restrictive diet for 30 days; again, no imaging, bloodwork, or referrals to a specialist. After about 2 weeks of no improvement, I told my husband to go to a GI doctor, and thank goodness I did because it turned out to be esophageal cancer. After one session with my husband, the GI doctor immediately sent him for an endoscopy and they saw a tumor. I wish I had made him go to a GI doctor in the first place to get an endoscopy instead of wasting precious months going here because it might have been caught at an earlier stage given how quickly this cancer spreads. Bottom line: I had heard a lot of great things about naturopaths, but after this experience, I think I'll stick to more conventional doctors. If you do go, advocate for your symptoms to be taken seriously and to have testing/imaging done or get a referral to a specialist who can take them seriously. read more

Dr. Shah is the BEST and most caring medical professional I have ever been treated by. I have been going to her regularly for almost one year now, and she has helped me to improve long-term health issues as well as acute concerns. When I had an urgent issue she saw me on the same day and personally followed up with me each day for 3 days following. She has worked with me to understand my health as an overall person and understand my preferences for medical care. She works with my insurance plan and is conscious of the costs of various tests and treatments and takes my financial situation into account as well. I fully trust my health in her hands and couldn't be happier that I found her as my doctor. I have also had the pleasure of working with Dr. Weitz for iron infusions. During this time I have had the opportunity to talk to her about some medical and personal concerns and found that she shares the same caring, holistic, and informed approach of Dr. Shah. This review is a bit late as I was a consistent client a year ago, however I'd imagine this clinic is still worth giving a positive review! My initial experience here was with Dr. Althaus ~ which I had a terrible experience with tbh. I came in looking for answers as to why I didn't feel my health was optimal. After doing the first round of testing I found out I had thyroid antibodies & my tsh, t3 & t4 levels weren't optimal but weren't necessarily indicative of hypothyroid either. I wasn't experiencing any hypothyroid symptoms so the test results caught me off guard. I voiced in the initial appointment how I don't want to be put on pharmaceuticals unless it's a life or death situation, & prefer to everything as natural as possible until there are no other options. Dr. Althaus basically didn't receive any of this sharing & her go to method of treatment was to put me on hypothyroid medication immediately. I politely declined & never saw her again. Thankfully she left the clinic soon after anyways. Dr. Althaus I would give 2 stars. I saw Dr. Wing next & she is a 5 star physician! Highly recommend. Dr. Wing is kind, very good at listening, & will work with you in a harmonic manner. Every appointment with her was delightful ~ & she worked with me to find solutions gracefully. Unfortunately I now live in California so am not seeing her currently, but I wish I could because she is that phenomenal at her work. Updated 10/23/19 In response to the businesses response, to clarify I've been in there 4 times (3 trying to solve the lab debacle) and was on my phone one time with Quest (while waiting, not walking in) since nobody could answer any questions. You've been given misinformation. It's disappointing that you have time to respond to a Yelp review, but still cannot respond to any of the multiple requests for contact via phone and email. There are several more things that went wrong with my visit and follow up, which I'd think you would want to know. It's been almost 6 weeks since my visit, with at least 15 calls or emails. ......... I don't get the high reviews at all. From the receptionist that was utterly annoyed at anyone that approached her to the check up which showed a bunch of off results that the doctor didn't seem particularly concerned about and didn't even try to reconfirm with different equipment. Nobody also ever answers the phone, and the assistants have zero follow through. Seriously, the most frustrating and unprofessional office I've ever encountered (and I work in healthcare, so that speaks volumes). read more

He is caring, very responsive to care portal messages, and dedicated to determining root cause. I wouldn't recommend Cascade Integrative or Dr. Shah, which saddens me. I felt like they were trying to 'goat' me into extra visits hand over fist. They charged me more than what we agreed to and I had to go out of my way to get the bill corrected. I wound up with iron stains on my skin from shots that were hardly effective for the condition I had. They're still there 2 years after I saw the doctor. I complained about this and pretty much got 'tough luck' response. I felt like there was this big 'push' to get me to come into the office as much as humanly possible, to sell me as much as possible, etc. Then there was resentment when I wouldn't do it. Kind of a common problem around here but I definitely avoid the ND's who seem to do this. I found SageMed in Bellevue to be far more helpful, even if it's a bit of a drive. read more

CIM is great as long as you don't see Dr Wing. I believe in naturopathic medicine and while I have not see someone like this before I did not have any expectations. I usually don't review providers but I wasted $200 and healing time because she could not interpret my lab results to me properly and she ordered the wrong tests. For the labs she did order, if she would have interpreted my results to me properly I would not be 9 months in and wondering why I still feel so horrible. I also paid $200 out of my own pocket for a test she ordered wrong. There is a reason she is overseen by one of the other providers. read more

My kids and I both see Dr. Easter. She consistently goes over and above what I'd expect of any doctor. She patiently listens, and offers multiple options of treatment with pros and cons of each, so I know I am ultimately in charge of my family's care. Dr. Shaw was really nice, but her office was a disaster of disorganization. I'm just being billed for a couple of visits that took place over 9 months ago. Although I told her who my insurance provider was and she said she was sending me to one that was in the network- oops she was wrong. Bill for a few tests? $3000, for which I was out of pocket around $600. After a LOT of money, I basically had a few vitamins to show for it. NOT happy. She did not follow up with me when she promised to. In fact, she went on vacation with no notice right in the middle of my treatment. Don't go!!! read more

I see Dr. Easter as my primary doctor, but have also seen Drs Shah and Woodall. They have all been very professional, helpful, and knowledgeable in their respective fields. I am truly supportive of their care and love their office set-up. They are always pleasant, friendly, and accommodating. I have found they go above and beyond the care they give each patient to a superlative degree, and have, on occasion, absorbed costs a patient may not be able to handle at that particular time. Cascade Integrative is a great practice. I liked Dr. Shah at my first appointment and continue to like her more and more. She does a great job a addressing issues in an appropriate sequence, and has great follow-up. She prefers a natural approach but is not afraid of using traditionally accepted western treatments when needed.
