I have been lucky enough to do some traveling in my day. I love driving, cranking music, singing to…read moreyourself in the rearview mirror. Anyway if you drive a lot your are going to need gas at some point, and sometimes you have no other option then to go to a SHELL station. Now Shell stations are tied with my least favorite gas chains with Marathons! Why you might ask? Well I have never met a Shell station that was very clean, had towels by the pumps, have a bathroom you would want to go in! Sturdy, old and dirty is how I would describe this shell! They also had a weird sign posted on the window that I thought was completely unnecessary. Oh well sometimes to go through Shell to get to Heaven.

Once in side the QC Mart I was greeted by a gal with a Pricellia Presley hair dew all smiles and fun! I asked her about American Pickers which she said was right down the road and she gave me some gossip about the group! It was pretty fun! She talked my ear off and I wanted her to talk the other one off too, so sweet and fun, ps she was painting her nails during this whole conversation! I hit the bathroom, got some snacks, then poured myself a coffee which she ended up giving me for free! What a doll, nice spot, and it was the cleanest gas station I have ever seen affiliated with SHELL! Way to go!

In podunk... not far outside Indianapolis ... there is nothing around accept an asphalt company and corn fields... across the hwy is a small town (Woodhull) I looked on maps and there is a bar and grill and a subway, 2 miles away ... I'm not that ambitious.... the Flying J tho is clean inside and the staff is very nice... there is no restaurant amenity inside like subway or Denny's which would be nice but, nope... the coffee is good ... lol and the showers were clean ... I read on another review about the water and it wasn't that bad... Sure enough, it was hot and ready when we arrived. We also picked up a few premade items. The pizza was good, but being gas station pizza it has a ceiling. It was as good as we expected it to be. The premade items (slice of cheese pizza and premade King's Hawaiian BBQ Brisket Sliders) were good as wel. Great stop on a road trip when you need to get gas, use the (clean) bathroom, and grab some food to go along I-88 as long as you don't expect anything beyond gas station standards. Lastly, everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful.

The one in Kewanee IL is a real crap shoot on food especially the Pizza. One time it will be great…read morewith the pizza being cooked perfectly and another time it will be utter shit. one time last year my father ordered two large pizzas,two orders of breadsticks and a order of wings and when we got there the two women that started the order just took off and clocked out without telling their replacement about our order so it got burnt to shit. The woman who replaced them was in a really shitty mood and just boxed the food that was all burnt to shit and just sent it out. The wings were hard as rocks we literally horsed one down the street with a baseball bat lol. and the rest was BARELY edible.
