Our daughter arrived in Brandon last winter... at the mid-point in her daughter's 6th-grade school…read moreyear. She came home with us to North Carolina for spring break in March. Yep, you guessed it, she has been here with us ever since then...(grin) * * * Her introduction to LLT Academy was a bit rocky and tumultuous; as was expected by all... just not quite to the degree our granddaughter displayed and so much out of her normal character.. Through it all, the staff, administrators, and teachers were extraordinarily and completely understanding, and demonstrated the patience of Job toward her and all of us. * * * She had adjusted quickly, made new friends, and now laments the delay in the opening of the new school year. Her experiences, (and ours as surrogate parents and online-learning counselors (grin)) have instilled n her (we hope) a renewed desire to attend school in person, do well there, and continue to cultivate her friendships. * * * As a retired school teacher and school librarian, I am completely amazed, and encouraged by the quality, sincerity, and professionalism of every member of the staff and administration with whom my wife and I have come into contact. For those reasons, I would highly recommend the Literacy, Leadership and Technology Academy to anyone considering enrolling any child. * * *

I would give this school zero stars if possible. A student was unfairly treated and consistently…read moreothered instead of being supported. Rather than fostering inclusion, the staff engaged in racial discrimination and created an environment where belonging was denied. The administration falsely labeled the student as having "uncontrollable behavioral issues" yet never provided documentation, a behavioral improvement plan, or any effort to partner with the family. Instead of taking the time to support and guide, the school chose to push the student out by unenrolling without care or compassion. Charter schools are supposed to provide opportunity and individualized support. What happened here was the opposite. We got dishonesty, exclusion, and neglect. Families considering this school should be aware: equity, inclusion, and respect are not upheld here.

If I can do a no star review I would let start with them targeting my son since day one of school…read morestarting every other day for no reason a call he laughed I got a call jacket not correct color a call and iss I mean everything but when I say anything my son has never had so many calls home until this year which is insane they offically got what they wanted a removal from that school and I am so happy it happen !! please if u can find a school that will teach your child and not try to be their friend with the bruh and bro and everything else children say now and days please do I don't recommend this school for no one child ! kids do Things like rip my son jacket it ok but let him speak up its a problem they broke his book bag and threw all his things away and that was ok this school is a total joke and would never have my children attend it again !!

I think they single out students to pick on that they don't particularly like. they nitpick them…read moreover everything they do right referrals for everything they do and then instead of talking to them or figuring out what is going on we just kick them out of school. My grandson asked to talk to the principal and sat in the waiting room and she never took the time out of her day to come talk to him to figure out maybe something else could be done besides just kicking him out of school. I find that unacceptable . she should be fired. My grandson did nothing to warrant getting kicked out of school.

As a former teacher and substitute teacher I must say that I am not impressed with this school…read more Beginning with the very disorganized new student orientation right down to the lack of information on their website. The greatest amount of information is devoted to fundraising activities. The designers of the physical plant created a building more fortress-like than school-like. The classrooms, the office, the computer lab, and the media center are all undersized and the whole building is claustrophobic. The playground and field are too small for the population. Perhaps the worst part is the location on a very busy street between two businesses. The parking lot is cramped. Since there is no transportation provided, all students must be picked up in the afternoon making the car line a nightmare while leaving the campus is extremely inhibited because of traffic. The only light in this scenario is the gentleman who directs traffic into and out of the campus. He does a wonderful job. The rules at the academy are arbitrary and lack common sense. For example; when it is raining parents must park and collect their children from the cafeteria where they are being held. On dry days if a parent happens to be a couple of minutes late and doesn't make it "behind the gate" even though the car line is not finished, they are required to park and proceed to the crowded office where their children are then summoned from the cafeteria. This exchange could be accomplished the same way as for rainy days, but that wouldn't punish parents enough for not making it behind the gate apparently. I find that much of the staff is aloof and unfriendly and a large percentage have little experience. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

Fantastic School!!! Daughter has been going there since 6th grade, she currently is in 10th Grade…read more The teacher student ratio is excellent and she gets alot of 1 on 1. The school has made my daughter go from below level in Elementary school to honor roll. The teachers know the students extremely well and that helps with in today's society of threats as the school is a smaller private school. I would recommend this school to anyone wanting a school from 6th to 12th and their child has a IEP and needs extra help than what the public school provides. The owner is involved in the school and frequently visits. When a parent has any concern he quickly addresses them with the parent.

The staff is constantly Changing but at the same time also Constantly improving, one of the new teachers this year stands out above the rest to me, her name is Ms. Jesica she teaches a little of everything, English, Spanish, scianse, cooking....and the list keeps going, she makes school so fun while keeping it Structured. If your kids have an IEP, 504 plan or maybe just need something a little less Conventional than public school check this place out. I do many things but one is teach online at Jesuit Catholic University's, my field is Speachel education and educating teachers to teach successfully. This School is wonderful in my opinion, always room to change and improve but they are Spreading their wings still and always improving and learn to be the best school in the area for kids with needs.
