I purchased the new Blue Cheese Quark Dip after trying a sample. Let's say it's gone in 4 days because it was so good. Yummy on crackers and bagels. Problem is now I am going to make a 1hr special trip back to buy more. The other cheeses here are amazing as well. The Heritage which is a yummy Gruyère was so good and I had to get that as well. Samples are abundant which is great at helping make the proper selections. Class act from everyone I have meant. Bonus you can see the cows and pet them as well. It was a lot of fun.

It is comfortable, quiet and in a good location. there were a lot of amenities not found in most places. it has more of an apartment feel and setup than a hotel. instructions were very clear; everything is electronic which makes it easy. it is a safe neighborhood with some great establishments within walking distance. has a very good taproom with good food as well.

(Fortunately for us, wherever we dined, the servers were happy to answer our questions.) The fruit bowl on the front desk counter seems like it sat out the entire weekend, with no refrigeration. The bar downstairs doesn't take cash. (I believe that will be against the law in 2028, according to an Illinois bill) No need for us to visit again.

A step back in time is how you will feel when you enter this charming store. It just recently…read moreopened and it is filled with memories of long ago. The store front is painted red and yellow and green. Once you go inside it reminds you of an old Mercantile shop in an old Western movie. The south side wall is covered in "penny" candy, which I'm sure isn't a penny now though! If you have an old favorite, you can probably find it here. The building is long and narrow and the walls are old wood as is the big long counter. You will find lots of vintage items as well as lots of handmade treasures. I love the handmade rag rugs in lots of beautiful colors...even pink, my favorite! There are handmade cloth and batting snowmen that are just adorable and very well made. A few antiques too that for sale. What I really love is the "feel" of the place. It is charming, quaint and a great addition to Pocahontas! It's worth the drive to step back in time and maybe pick up a special treasure and a handful of sweets!
