They have two shops along the same street, the one we stopped at had more of a selection. Lacquemant de Lille serves Belgian coffee, pastries, leige styled waffles, and gelato. With a great variety of gelato flavors, you are sure to find one (or more) that you like. Ordering was super simple and the service was very quick. Some of the workers spoke English, some did not. But we were able to order without any problems. The workers are very kind and super efficient as well! There are not any places to sit as this is more of a window/to-go shop. I ordered 2 flavors, Nutella and stracciatella. Both were great, really smooth, and had good flavor. They were also the perfect size and not too heavy (something I appreciate about gelato). Both flavors really complimented each other and I would recommend either! This is a good spot to hit up if you are in need of a sweet treat. With a great selection, they are sure to have something for everyone. I thought the price was pretty fair as well. I'm not sure if this is "the best gelato in Lille", but it was satisfying enough!

For drinks, you have a fountain in the middle of the restaurant where you can choose either still, sparkling or flavoured water. For dessert, there's also a buffet with fromage blanc, coulis, brownies, etc. and couple of different ice creams too. If you want to have lunch there in the weekdays, avoid 12:30 - 1:30 as there's a lot of offices around so it's full of people and expect queueing.

The issue was I just couldn't wrap my head around the idea of eating salad for dinner. I'm used to salad being the thing the restaurant gives me for free on the side of my main dish, or maybe if it's a really good salad with some kind of exotic shark meat in it I'll order it as a starter. But salad unto itself? As a final destination as opposed to merely a means to an end? And for the second most sacred meal of the day no less? Can't think of many things more depressing than that as far as culinary experiences go. Besides, why pay that much money for all you can eat salad when there's this new restaurant that just opened in the same neighborhood. It's called Rice & Co. Similar concept, only instead of all you can eat salad it's all you can eat...that's right, you've guessed it: rice. They've got white rice, brown rice, fried rice, sticky rice, pretty much all the rices. Check it out!
