I started the day excited to go out fishing on the first day of the season. Long story short; I ended up with a fishing hook in my hand. I realized I would need some professional help getting it out. A quick survey of urgent care in the valley didn't have a lot of options on a Saturday. But Glacier Medical Associates stood out like a good option. The front desk was able to confirm they would be able to help remove the hook and checked me in. The medical staff got me situated and Dr Maaliki came in with a plan. I ended up fainting during the procedure, but the crew handled it no problem. I ended up walking out with my fly in a jar and not in my hand. Tara Smith García is the most dismissive and frankly, incompetent medical provider I've had the misfortune of crossing paths with. I was pushed off onto her when my primary care physician became the urgent care doctor and was unable to see me on a regular basis. The other female providers at Glacier Medical aren't seeing new patients and so Tara Smith Garcia was my only option. What a poor option. Not only did she overlook/dismiss a huge part of my diagnosis, she ordered the wrong x-ray and the wrong medication for me. When I had an allergic reaction to the medication she did order and I let her know and instead of communicating with me, she simply put in my chart that I was in eligible for any medication in that class. Zero communication and zero meds! I had to go to urgent care AGAIN to get a medication that would work in that class and there were several dozen. The urgent care doctor shook her head in dismay that Tara Smith Garcia actually wrote in my chart without that I was "ineligible" for all considering other medication's for my condition. WILD! I was prescribed an appropriate medication on the spot By the urgent care Dr. The urgent care doctor was also able to order a x-ray and diagnose a very serious issue for me that Smith Garcia missed completely. If you are recommended to see this doctor, I suggest you decline. Some of the other doctors at Glacier Medical Associates are competent and quite fine but Tara Smith Garcia is not. read more

Used the Urgent Care while on vacation. I came down with a respiratory virus and was a walk-in. Besides the longer wait times (there were quite a few people there with the same illness I had), the nurse and doctor were great! Efficient and even called me when I left to give me some test results. I am nurse myself and was appreciative of the great care I received. read more

Frankly I am shocked to read so many negative reviews of Glacier Medical in Whitefish. I've not experienced anything negative and have found e eryone kind, compassionate and efficient. I've heard so many positive things from people I know who go there. My GP Jeremy Jennings is kind, open minded and responsive, even through portal messages. read more

UTI on vacation wasn't fun but receptionist was very understanding. Quick check in and didn't have to wait long although there were several people ahead of me. Physicians was very pleasant and thorough in exam. Explained treatment simply and succinctly. Waiting room was beautiful - like a sumptuous cabin with leather chairs and a fireplace. read more

Glacier Medical was great pre-Covid. Since then they have gotten rid of some of the best nurse, practitioners and physicians. My final, and last straw with them Was a few months ago when I went in very sick with a respiratory illness and the doctor reeked so strongly of alcohol it made my stomach turn. He was nice, but the smell was so overpowering it made me extremely nauseous. I had taken my daughter in to have her knee looked at because she had fallen on it and they took x-rays and said they would call me with the results. We didn't hear from them and assumed everything was OK even though her knee was still hurting and two weeks later they gave us a call and said that she had chipped a piece of bone off of her kneecap. Glacier Medical Associates has consistently, over the past 2 years, provided the WORST medical care I've ever had in my life. My hands are shaking right now, I'm so angry. I have a non-psychoactive medication that I've been taking daily for 25+ years. It's not a controlled substance in any way. Instead of writing the Rx with a year of refills, my Dr insisted on writing the Rx with NO refills and I had to call every month to get a new one. (She also insisted that I have an appt every 3 months to get my meds.) For 30+ years I've generally gone to the Dr 1x/year. I get a physical, I get a my prescriptions written w a year's worth of refills and I move the F on. I ended up being without this medication for 4+ weeks this winter because I ran out, and it to them so long to call it in properly, and I suffered negative consequences as a result. Finally, after spending more than 10 hours in countless calls to them, the pharmacy, back to them (seriously, more than 10 hours on behalf of myself & my husband- who was also having refill issues w them) they FINALLY got is right AND called in an Rx written for a 3 month supply. At the time I specifically asked them to call it in with a year's worth of refills and they said they would. Hallelujah! But wait! There's more!!! Today I called to get my next 3 month supply (as it's been almost 3 months since they FINALLY got my meds to met at the end of January) and was told by the pharmacy that my prescriptions hadn't been written with refills.... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!! So, I called Glacier Medical to get the situation rectified. Was I able to do that? NOPE!!!! The Dr (she's certainly no longer MY Dr, that's for sure) won't write a new prescription for the non-mood, non-mind altering drug that I've been taking daily for 25+ years that she's been prescribing me 2 years. Ive had 2 awful expierences at this place. Their incredibly unprofessional. The first bad expierencr was.. I went in with a torn ACL on 12.27.20 and they didnt have knee braces or crutches to give me. Told me to go to walgreens and buy them. They told their patient who could barely walk to go to walgreens. They also took until 1130 to see me when i was the first patient through the door at 11a.m. The first awful expierence was when i went in for back pain. The nurse practioner basically accused me of faking my pain. She then offered me drugs but i said no b.c. i didnt know what was in the drug and dont trust prescription medicine. She then mocked me and said "well you must not be in that much pain" in complete agony i wanted to rip the doctors head off because of her ignorance. I then specifically asked to do physical therapy at a specific location. Multiple times. B.c. of how rude i was she passive aggresively "messed that part up" writing my therapy to be done at a really upptie yuppitie white ppl gym... when i specifically asked not to go there. This facility has a terrible reputation around the local community of whitefish. Everyone has these horror stories. They represent montana in the bad way. Lazy, unprofessional, unorganized, passive aggresive and late. read more

We have seen several different doctors at Glacier Medical, but have almost always had amazing service. The doctors listen to what we need, the office staff is professional and we never have to wait long, even if it is Urgent Care without an appointment. The best thing about the clinic is that on the weekend, they are open until five pm, which helps avoid extra fees for urgent visits. read more

Not being open on christmas is one thing but 12/23/19 is not christmas.It's appalling that you would let people suffer through christmas.This speaks volumes of this place and who they are,and no I called and they WERE NOT open on December 23rd 2019.Apparently lying is also their thing and who they are.They also like to call random people an ask for other random people,they can't even keep track of their patients and their medical/personal information.No professionalism whatsoever. read more

I visited Glacier Medical Associates in early February 2023 after a bad snowboarding injury on January 23rd. I injured my right hip flexor and was in horrible pain but was on a 2-week Big Sky/Whitefish vacation with my husband and a group of friends and, even though I knew I wouldn't be able to snowboard anymore, I decided to just go along for the ride so as not to ruin anyone else's vacation by cutting it short. One of the friends with us on the first week is a Chiropractor so he was giving me adjustments to help me but I visited urgent care in Big Sky for my horrific pain. They said they couldn't give me anything more than Advil unless I had a broken bone. I continued walking with a limp until a few days later when my left hip also went out of place - probably due to my limp from the great pain in my right hip. At this point, I could only walk with my right leg splayed way out to the side because my left hip was jacked up about two inched higher than normal. I visited Glacier the morning after this occurred and they got me right in to be seen. I don't remember the doctor I saw but she believed me and could clearly see how much pain I was in. She gave me meds to help me tolerate the pain until I could get home and referred me to a physical therapist upstairs who gave me some simple stretch/strengthening techniques to help. She also recommend her chiropractor when I inquired about one, whom I saw twice in the next couple of days. When I got home, I learned I had a torn major psoas muscle in my R groin/hip flexor area and dysplasia of my left hip. It took me months of rest, Chiropractic and Orthopedic care to recover and I can't imagine how I would've survived the pain if it hadn't been for the wonderful folks at Glacier Medical Associates. They were ALL wonderful from the gentleman who checked me in, the doc, the PT, and the pharmacy folks. HIGHLY recommend this place. read more

Excellent service. We had a rough day with a nasty fractured wrist. The treatment and overall compassion from the staff was terrific. Dr. Bergland was very nice as was the X-ray tech Rod. Good folks made the day a little better. In and out in 3 hours. That's with X-rays and Dr. visit and cast. That's not bad at all! read more

I understand it's flu season. They are also the only urgent care open on sundays nearby. However, they're practices for patIent care suck. They usher people to the backk every ten minutes so the waiting room looks clear. Claim to have two doctors on staff but all you see are Np's. You then end up waiting in the back rooms for three hours to be seen because they are extremely short staffed and don't know what they are doing. Avoid this place at all costs. I don't care if you have an emergency and have no choice but to come here. I'd suggest a Walgreens pharmacist to diagnose you rather than to be abandoned at this place for three hours. FYI I'm currently writing this while still waiting to be seen. So at the time of this post my wait has been three hours. Still have not been seen. I'll attempt to edit with a final end time if I ever make it out of here alive. read more

Long story short, don't even try as a new patient. Horrible experience all around. They need to hire more staff. If you must go here... be prepared for 2+ weeks before you can be seen. Also, they will make you jump thru a lot of hoops. It was to the point where I felt like they didn't believe my medical history. My wife wasn't feeling well, came in to their Urgent Care and they took excellent care of her, lab work and pharmacy right there and very reasonable.. front desk reception was very nice and helpful! It took about an hour from start to finish! I'd recommend to anyone who needs quick medical attention in Whitefish! read more

As an urgent care clinic, I have never been more pleased, ever! However, after having such a positive experience with the staff, physicians and the pharmacy next door, I transferred my pediatric care to their office. In total time for the walk in clinic, I checked in - had testing done - received the results and had a complete conversation with our providers and was out the door in 30-60 minutes. I am overly pleased with that amount of time as it's really something being done at MY convenience. 100% thumbs up!!!! HOWEVER, once I scheduled an appointment to fully establish care, the quality quickly turned. With a scheduled appointment of 9am, I promptly showed up at 8:40 to make sure I was able to fill out necessary paperwork. At 8:53, we are brought back to our room, vital signs and basic information is obtained and we are left with "the doctor will be with you in a few moments" - at 9:03am. As 9:15 rolls around, I notice the time, 9:20 comes, I'm a little bothered, and at 9:35am, I had to leave because I have a JOB, that I can only take so much time off of for appointments. Not only did I travel out of my way to go the WF for this appointment, but I lost time, without pay, and they have never even bothered for a follow up phone call. I anticipate there to be a variable in the time of an appointment, I have work in doctor's offices, and am no stranger to being in one as a patient. But after 15 minutes, and no one comes to check in on you and acknowledge that you are even there, there begins to be a problem. But after waiting 35 minutes, with no communication from the staff OR the doctor, there is something wrong. Now, not only did I lose time without pay and not receive any services (my insurance was billed for the vital signs ($75)), but I have to miss MORE time, and my child has to miss MORE school because of this. My stars are based on the walk-in clinic only!!! I would rather use the walk-in clinic, I got better care as a "new" patient than I did to have my full family medical care scheduled. read more

Our family has been with Glacier Medical since the beginning. We have always had a good experience with the medical professionals: MDs, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, RNs and LPNs, the Aides, Lab Tecnologists and the wonderful Radiographer Rudy. What has not been wonderful is the point-of-contact people at the entry. Prior to the current pandemic, the professional conduct of the 'receptionists' was questionable. The volley of conversations between staff across the reception area was disagreeable. The loudness of the receptionists, one in particular that must be hard of hard of hearing and in need of a hearing amplifying device, questioning the patients was appalling. No confidence of patient confidentiality here! Fortunately, we have not needed services at Glacier Medical since the beginning of the pandemic. If we have to go in, we'll just have to grin and bear it until we get into our waiting room. The Urgent Care Clinic is a Godsend, saving one a trip to the ER a mile or so away. We are confident in the medical professionals, just not sure about the 'kids' up front. read more

The only pro I see to going here is sometimes you luck up with a fairly quick experience as a walk-in. As for the care provided I have had 2 different awful experiences where I was not respected as an individual. On one occasion the Dr treated me like an idiot when I asked questions on trying to help figure out what was going on. He actually told me I have been reading up too much on health sites online! I hardly ever do so and almost never go to Dr as I'm a pretty healthy individual. This same clinic misdiagnosed the illness I was diagnosed with for another patient which is why I got sick in the 1st place as the illness was contagious & I caught it from that patient. Maybe that's why I was questioning the Dr's diagnosis....Dr's make mistakes too! The 2nd time when I took my daughter in for a fever followed by rash, which ended up being a minor, common virus that was already on the mend I was judged by the nurse for some of my parental health decisions. She tried to scare me that it was something more serious like measles or mumps which was not the case at all! Why worry a parent who is already concerned into thinking it may be worse than it actually is?! No bedside manners at all. This staff needs more training in ethics and how to communicate with their patients. I will go to Kalispell Regionals urgent care from now on. read more

Really you spend just a minute or two with your doctor, they write you a script and that's it. It's nothing super special and I don't think most doctors at this clinic spend enough time with you to really find out what's wrong. read more

If you have to go to urgent care not once, but twice, in one day while you're on vacation, this is absolutely the place to go. From the people working at the front desk checking us in to the RNs/LPNs to the FNPs to the wonderful pharmacist, everyone was so incredibly warm and friendly. It could not have been a more efficient process, too. What could have been a stressful situation turned into one that we were all laughing by the end of our visit. The pharmacist went out of his way to take time to answer our questions with such a compassionate demeanor. The woman checking us in was incredibly kind when we realized we didn't have our insurance card. The LPN had us laughing out the door. We can't thank you all enough for the strong, efficient, and compassionate care you provided to us in our time of need! read more

I have never been treated so poorly by not only the Physcian's Assistant Laura Hunter , but also the Office Manager Kelly Michaels. I have a very complicated medical history and have been seen by the best Dr's in the world at Mayo Clinic, I went in to get established having just moved here and saw for prescription renewals. She not only changed dosages without reading my previous records ( that she admitted) but she changed the type of of presciption( if it was to be dissolved under the tongue, etc) and none of this was discussed with me!!!! She increased some that I didn't want increased and decreased some that Mayo had specifically taken time to get to the right dosage and I just found out after I paid for the prescriptions and got them home. When I brought this up with her nurse the nurse first said , no she filled it right it must be the Pharmacy. So I went back to the Pharmacy and they said no. I called back to the nurse and she left a message saying that no she was wrong Laura had done it on purpose!!! I contacted Kelly Michaels the Office Manager, she wanted me to go in to urgent care on a Saturday , pay for it out if my pocket , wait to see another doctor. This has been such a nightmare. These people care!!! There is no other way to say this. They will call you back, answer your questions, find out the answer if they don't know (instead of just making something up), call to check on you afterwards, and if that isn't enough they will tell you if they are running late! I'm sure there are some weak points but I just haven't found them yet. read more

Had to bring in my 9 yr old who was sick on our vacation. They got us in right away and took great care of us.

I was on a road trip and needed medical attention. This clinic did come up first on a web search and it had positive reviews, so I tried it. The clinic is clean and modern, and the staff were all very warm and helpful. Of course, the really important thing is the medical care. The doctor's recommended treatment cleared up my issue in a timely fashion. I appreciate that since I was traveling, he gave me directions as to what to do if the first treatment didn't work, including a relevant prescription. I had very little wait (really just enough time to fill out the necessary paperwork), but I did notice a line as I was leaving, so I timed it well. read more
