I had already tried Swedish meatballs, as well as pork on my trip, so I decided I wanted steak. My friend suggested this place, with a specialty of "Plank steak," or steak on a plank. Sounded great to me!
The place was bustling, and we were seated in a nice, cozy corner nestled inside the main dining room. There was a warm atmosphere. I was all set to order the Plank steak, which is served with mashed potatoes and bacon wrapped green beans. However, I really wanted French Fries instead of mashed potatoes (a bit tired of that after having it with almost every meal). So I asked if I could substitute the mashed potatoes, but it was a set meal. I still ordered the Plank steak with a side of French Fries.
I think the waiter got confused, because when my meal came, it was just the regular steak with French Fries. ($30) Though I thought about changing it, I decided to keep it as is, since I would be saving money having that. There were 2 beautiful pieces of steak with some fresh vegetables underneath, and fried kale on top. The fries came in a bowl on the side and there was some herby mayo sauce. The steak was perfectly cooked, delightfully tender, well seasoned with plenty of deeply flavorful savory sauce. French fries were incredibly crispy with wonderful potato taste.
We received a small serving of chocolate pudding, which was rich, velvety smooth, and sweet. Definitely a nice way to end the delicious dinner.
Service was decent, though I kind of wish I was given the Plank steak I asked for, because I saw some plated and it looked quite impressive. Pricing was on par with places in the trendy Sodermalm neighborhood. read more
