Came here at 10:30 pm on a Sunday night and it happened to be organ night! We only got to hear two songs before they wrapped up, but it was very fun and cool. Vibes are chill, casual, and quirky. We ordered our drinks upon arrival at the bar, service was quick and efficient. My bf got a beer and I got a Kopparberg cider, which I had never had before, but I loved! I went to Stampen on a Sunday night and they had traditional country music. The place was completely packed and super hot as far as humidity.. It was quite difficult to get service if you weren't standing right at the bar. I noticed that even a PBR was 900 sec. Most of the beers were quite expensive. I'm from America and PBR is the cheapest lowest quality beer. You could possibly buy. A 16 ounce tall boy is about three dollars in most clubs and five at a high-end club. Other than that a good time was had by all. I can always count on some interesting music when I go t Stampen. I was pleasantly surprised to see traditional country music . It's nice to see that they don't have any of that modern country bullshit and they stick to traditional country music bands that play music with substance . Fabulous and fun jazz club right in the middle of gamla stan, just a 15 minute walk from central station. We came on a Friday late afternoon around 5pm and most tables were taken but there was plenty of space to stand. The jazz band was already playing and the vibes were chill and festive. We ordered a couple drinks at the bar, I loved the revolver, my partner got the "something" collins drink and it was fantastic, really smooth and easy to drink. The bartenders were great, really quick to take our order and make the drinks. All in all a great little spot to hangout! But, if they decided to give it a good dusting I wouldn't stop them, hah! read more

Located in the old historic Gamla Stan district, this is one of the oldest and most touristy jazz clubs in Stockholm. I came in on a Tuesday night, so it wasn't too crowded and I managed to grab a bar stool. Appeared to be mostly tourists, but this club seems to have a loyal local crowd whom are very serious about jazz music and respecting the musicians. A group of loud and drunk British tourists kept talking, so they were asked to leave. Another tourist really enjoyed the music but kept clapping and stomping his feet loudly and annoyingly...he was politely asked to cease his novice music skills which were detracting from the talented professional musicians. I like this place! Reasonable 50SEK cover charge for the band(about $5.50 at the time of this review). I think the cheapest draft beer was 62SEK. The bar staff were friendly enough, just don't do anything to ruin the music for everyone else. read more

Is Stampen worth it? Totally depends on the night. I ended up going here two nights in a row, and the first night was bleh - the second night fantastic! The great thing about Stampen is of course the live music, but the quality of the bands varies. Friday nights tend to be better than Thursday nights. But, Thursday nights tend to be free, whereas Fridays have a 50kr cover charge. There's an incredible mix of people - everything from Söder hipsters to Östermalm fancy people to old rockers to classy pensioners. And everyone has a good time! The staff are friendly, the drink prices are average. The nachos are AMAZING. Not just chips and salsa - oh no. A massive plate which can be easily shared among 3 or 4 people, brimming with delicious cheese, veggies, guacamole, and more. SO GOOD. When you walk in upstairs the place looks teeny tiny -but there's a whole new world waiting below! I think the downstairs pub section is cosier, quiet enough to talk, and plenty of space, plus another little stage down there. If you like jazz and want to see a concert and then chill and have beer after, definitely try Stampen on a weekend! read more

Visited after dinner at "The hairy pig deli". Awesome walk distance. You will be asked 50kr for the entrance. But they are generous enough to see the performance for a min. Had a house white wine and it felt cheap. However, their live performance is quite impressive and good enough (had been seeking many places in New Orleans and washington D.C.). A little bit loud (bc its small), but great Jazz. read more

Stampen is one of my favorite places in Stockholm! It's a blues and jazz bar open Monday to Saturday playing some of the best bands from Sweden and around the world every night. Plus they have a jam session on Saturdays. Beers are well priced and get ready for a que on a Saturday as this place is VERY popular! They serve bar snacks and a wide range of beers and wines, so head down, get a seat and listen to some awesome bands! Such a unique place, I have not found anywhere like it. It used to be a pawn shop so all of the stuff on the walls and ceiling is from the old store. There is a cellar too for some Saturday events. There's a bar there too! read more

I love the decor! The giant chandelier is so amazing! Really feels like the old world in the middle of the old town. Some of the other ceiling decorations just look like junk but oh well. It was packed even on a Monday night. The band was really talented. The lineup was fresh for the whole month it looked like (good and bad thing, it's nice to see good acts again). The bartender (who was new) was very kind and relaxed. There is much more space than Wirströms Pub, which is my other favorite haunt for live music. I will return! You should check it out! read more

I love this bar! Lots of fun and happy energy with good music. We heard the music from the streets and walked in. We were greeted by this huge body builder with beautiful long blonde hair tied in a low pony tail wearing a black metal T-shirt. We paid him our entrance fee out and went straight for the bar. The bartender spoke english and helped us pick our drinks. It took me awhile, because I had to double check with barnivore.com if the beers were vegan. I ordered a German Beer. Most German beers follow the "German purity law" which means they only use Barley malt, water, hops and yeast. Literally walked by this place and heard the live music outside so we decided to stop in. Awesome jazz band with no cover on a Sunday evening.
