Fabulous and fun jazz club right in the middle of gamla stan, just a 15 minute walk from central station. We came on a Friday late afternoon around 5pm and most tables were taken but there was plenty of space to stand. The jazz band was already playing and the vibes were chill and festive. We ordered a couple drinks at the bar, I loved the revolver, my partner got the "something" collins drink and it was fantastic, really smooth and easy to drink. The bartenders were great, really quick to take our order and make the drinks. All in all a great little spot to hangout! But, if they decided to give it a good dusting I wouldn't stop them, hah!

So, I'm sitting here visiting from San Francisco CA and just had the quesadilla w chicken. It was delicious!! It came w a small side of guacamole, salsa and lettuce. Best little joint with..... Cool and small joint. Band was pretty good. Alcohol is classically expensive. Also if you are not very tall then you probably won't see anything because, let's be honest, the average height in the bar is tall. Times visited: 1

Is Stampen worth it? Totally depends on the night. I ended up going here two nights in a row, and the first night was bleh - the second night fantastic! The great thing about Stampen is of course the live music, but the quality of the bands varies. Friday nights tend to be better than Thursday nights. But, Thursday nights tend to be free, whereas Fridays have a 50kr cover charge. There's an incredible mix of people - everything from Söder hipsters to Östermalm fancy people to old rockers to classy pensioners. And everyone has a good time! The staff are friendly, the drink prices are average. The nachos are AMAZING. Not just chips and salsa - oh no. A massive plate which can be easily shared among 3 or 4 people, brimming with delicious cheese, veggies, guacamole, and more. SO GOOD. When you walk in upstairs the place looks teeny tiny -but there's a whole new world waiting below! I think the downstairs pub section is cosier, quiet enough to talk, and plenty of space, plus another little stage down there. If you like jazz and want to see a concert and then chill and have beer after, definitely try Stampen on a weekend!

Awesome just awesome. Went on a Sunday for the open mic night. There was a steady stream of musicians, singers and band members. The place was packed and people were nice enough to make room. The staff is ready to serve and help when necessary. There is always something going on here and the friendly atmosphere make it easy to enjoy. Check out the website for a run down of events and enjoy.

Great vibes and great music. Saw a bluegrass band playing Texas jams and Willie Nelson throwbacks. Probably my favorite little bar in Stockholm so far

    Entrance

Visited after dinner at "The hairy pig deli". Awesome walk distance. You will be asked 50kr for the entrance. But they are generous enough to see the performance for a min. Had a house white wine and it felt cheap. However, their live performance is quite impressive and good enough (had been seeking many places in New Orleans and washington D.C.). A little bit loud (bc its small), but great Jazz.

A home for the jazz and blues heads in Stockholm. Cover when I came in on a Sunday was 50sek and the 4 piece was excellent.

It really is an experience and being immersed in a culture and style is fun. Seating is limited so be sure to make reservations. Not a big fan of seating family style (with other families) and it is extremely warm inside. You may be put on the spot so if you are shy or introverted this may not be the experience for you. But otherwise, its definitely worth the fun. FOOD: Good but not great. Not a whole lot of variety. Various meats all cooked just right are available. Few side dishes and all root vegetables. We shared the Rurik's Feast so we would get a variety of meats and it was good. I really liked all three meats and it was worth it for the cost. I do wish there were different root veggies like potatoes. I don't know much Viking history so not sure how authentic, but they did have a nice variety of options. They did have risotto for the vegetarians (sure that wasn't part of the Viking staple!). SERVICE: Loved the music. Loved the atmosphere (except for the heat). Loved how friendly and nice everyone was. Service and plating were A+. COST: It was definitely worth it for the volume of food and the experience. Like I said, probably wouldn't come back, but definitely recommended for anyone who wants a fun and memorable night. Definitely worth doing once.
