Service was swift and hookah we ordered was smooth. We tried the strawberry margarita by starbuzz, 5 stars! I will be coming back soon.

Yes this place is still open. Don't understand some of the poor reviews, particularly on google. Came in here on a Friday night and the place was decently busy, but i could still get a spot with ease despite being by myself. The vibe was very hip and fun. Theres a large TV screen playing modern hip-hop music and some crowds sang along to it. Theres some really nice couch seating for groups. The shisha is a bit pricey ($20-$23) and you need to prepay. I opted for watermelon which wasn't the best flavor, but the smoke was pretty good and you get 4 coals. I quite enjoyed it. Overall a good experience, definetly a place to bring some friends. Cons- - You prepay, and its about $20-$23 per hookah. Not a huge deal for me. - A bit pricey - There's no food - I believe theres some written rule about how many Hookahs you need per certain number of people, but this wasn't an issue for me as i was alone. Correct me if i'm wrong. Came here the other night to catch a couple of hours of smoke. Not bad. they have good flavors, and the couch section they seated us at was pretty chill. One of the employees was super cool. kept asking if we were alright, and if the shisha was smoking good. But the tall bald dude, was a bit douchy, besides that i kinda like this place. i love that they use KM pipes. but who doesnt? ill be back to try them again soon read more

totally love the environment! I have been to vibe and the other hookah places and by far this place has the best tasting shisha. prices are on par, if not cheaper than other places in town. oh and I have yet to find another place in town the serves Starbuzz Bluemist my fav :-) oh and the peach mint is also our fav too. nerver had tea here. so cant say. décor is pretty cool. we mostly go for the shisha and the music really. and to the other reviewer calling the people that go there like me and my friends "suspicious looking" obviously has a vendetta against the owners/the place. your whole review is scretchy "james" only food joints have health inspectors...lol. and the waiter is such a hard case that I cant even bring in outside water so kinda hard to see drug deals in there happening. check it out if you like good shisha and good music. Very hip place! Flashy colorful light everywhere, even the hookah has glow stick in the water. The place attract more the young crowds, rap music blasting from a large screen TV. (Too loud for my taste). I have no complain about the hookah, plenty of flavor a to choose from. Our server was very attentive. I wouldn't go back again simply because of the loud music, I do prefer a more relaxed atmosphere for a hookah lounge, it should have been called a hookah bar instead. read more

If I could give a place 0 stars I would argue to give this place negative stars. Service is prolonged and rude, not to mention the sheer ridiculous number of rules they have restricting every single action you could think of. Upon entrance, a water bottle was confiscated from our group and promptly poured out. Upon leaving, I asked to have it refilled with water and was told "I can't do that" for no reason. This was the start of a terrible evening. I've been smoking shisha for over 15 years and I know my brands, and they mixed something in to make it ashier. The music was terrible, shisha was overpriced ($20), and the tea was weak and stuffed with leaves so there'd be less water. The service was so appalling that I struggle to recollect my account, as I've never been treated so rudely at any establishment. This is the second and last time I have visited this establishment in Ottawa and both times I have left from feeling disappointed to fully disrespected by staff personnel, including the manager/ self proclaimed owner. When we initially walked in we were satisfied with the atmosphere. We were a group of four young professionals looking to enjoy a relaxing night but we were quickly accosted by staff and instructed in a very aggressive manner to not use our cell phones. Keep in mind that their music is playing very loudly in this hookah lounge, naturally when we asked why they felt the need to enforce a no cell phone ban randomly, they simply replied in a hostile and aggressive manner that 'these are their rules now! I quickly realized that the manager was present and not only condoned, but actively participated by encouraging his staff to treat patrons in a hostile manner. We noticed that patrons were only treated in a disrespectful manner after they paid for the service. Keep in mind that everyone has to pay for the service as soon as they order. Another incident occurred at another table where staff rudely yelled at another girl near our table to remove outside drinks and yanked away her Starbucks coffee drink and poured it. There is no need for this aboherrent behaviour. We quickly left as we realized this establishment is run by mafia style personnel. I highly do not recommend this hookah lounge. There are plenty more in Ottawa that offer friendly, warm; and professional service. read more

I've been to this place a few times, it does have a decent selection of flavours. They have done some reno's which have slightly improved the space. Unfortunately since said renovations they service has degraded. The manger does his best to make you feel unwelcome, for the most part your seated in uncomfortable tables in the middle of the room. You have to pay upfront, the prices randomly go up (a very small obscure sign is some times by the entrance door). Most recently they have started to charge entrance fees, bump the price of the pipe on sporting events and holidays. Be aware there also now no option to pay debit or credit. Only cash, with a $3 fee ATM on sight. To me it seems like after the Reno the manger decided his clients should foot the reno cost. Overall this place is over priced, strict rules and mangers lack of customer service makes this cafe unwelcoming and not worth going to again in my book. read more

The owner I presume who was serving us is a nice guy and he does serve good quality shisha but I wouldn't go back. I been there twice. The rules are strange. I brought a sandwich once and the server told me its not allowed. But why does it matter? I am sure food is not sold there. And half of the seating consists of wooden park benches. The music can get pretty loud too. The shisha is ok pricing but the no food/drink policy is deterring me from going. Im pretty sure many people have issues with his policies because I recall the Old Kirkuk in that same shisha spot back in 2011 was much more busier. Its not as lively as before. I've heard quite a few people from campus complaining about that location Id happily pay the $12 if he got rid of the no food/drink policy. I go to the Merivale location now. Its $10, good shisha and I dont get to rush eating my food but considering the factors, Gladstone Lounge is not even worth the traditional $10 shisha cost I just don't see that place surviving if things continue as they do. Wish I had the option of giving them a ZERO Star, however, Me and a group of friends came here very happy and excited to smoke hookah(shisha) and just chill however the employees were VERY VERY rude and treated us as if they didn't want us there. We all felt they were extremely unprofessional to us because we aren't from Canada, it seemed like everything was an issue from the minute we walked in. We felt so profiled to the point where we didn't even want to stay and smoke anymore. We were so disgusted we ended up walking out, we walked down the block(less than a 5min walk) to Downtown Pizza and told an employee there the horrible experience we had and he said "I've heard that before from a lot of customers that leave there and come here." I'm glad we left before they were able to take our money, if you're reading this don't waste your time going there; horrible customer service and I'm sure there are other shisha places that will treat customers with appreciation and respect! read more

Not a welcoming atmosphere whatsoever. We were a group of 3 and expecting our friends (3 extra people) and they wouldn't let us relocate. Already the seating was not pleasant. Afterwards, they served us 4 coals instead of 5 (yes, they specify on the menu that they only serve 5, yet only brought 4). The shishas are alright... light and clean but given that they aren't flexible or friendly, I won't go back and don't recommend anyone going. read more

Was asked to pay 45$ to have cupcakes brought out on my birthday. Was told they do not allow cakes only cupcakes (whats the difference?) When we didnt pay, they kept talking about how we cant have the upcakes IN A SEALED CONTAINER on the table ebcause other guests might see it and want to bring their own too (what?). Repeatedly harassed customers to order shisha. Charged for bottled water did not have tap water. ($2 for bottle water) was told it would be $5 if we paid debit. Told guests when they arrived and had their jackets still on that they needed to sit down and could not be standing which was rude. My friend ordered tea which was brought out an hour later to which the waiter had to be reminded. Told to move two chairs because it was a fire hazard, but one was okay. Was told there was no food allowed on the table but that they allowed cake (does that make sense?). They continuously changed their minds. first we could have the cupcakes and not eat them, then we could take pictures with them, then it ended up being you cant have the cupcakes on the table AT ALL. Threatened to give away my reserved table when there was other empty spots. Told my guests rudely that they were late, even though the majority of guests were already seated, and these ones were just arriving a bit later than the others. read more

I have never in my life been to such a bs establishment in Ottawa. Not only do they deny free water!!! (A legal requirement should probably sue) they threw out all of our water instead of letting us keep it outside!? Or refused entry. The staff was rude and were trying to constantly assert authority over customers that they did NOT have. The Shish is overpriced, (20$) and there's a 2 person limit per shisha or you pay a 15 dollar fee. I arrived less than 10 minutes later than my friend who had ordered us a hookah and was denied entry because "we didn't arrive as the same party." It's also 5 flipping dollars to play janga!?!?! It's cool, I like the "hip" vibe. But for hookah i much rather prefer somewhere like Sinbad where it's quiet and relaxing. Shisha for me is more for talking and smoke tricks haha. read more

The atmosphere and music is really great...but they have ridiculous rules that make you never want to go back. (no outside food or even water, extra charge if your with a group and one person comes later on, 10$ for non-smokers).They just try to hustle you for your money. it was nice while it lasted. before siting there was free of charge but now you must pay 10$ if your not sharing a shisha or not grabbing one or if you come late......they are slowly beginning to hustle people. i dont recommend going if your not trying to spend much. read more
