They were three…read moreyears dealing with a simple compensation claim from a former employer, during which time I never knew who was dealing with my claim, they were reluctant to put anything in writing and refused to divulge the name of the opposing solicitors. I became suspicious about their dealings and wrote to them twice( recorded delivery) regarding my concerns, but received no reply. They eventually phoned me ( 9 months after my letters), to report that the defendants had rejected my claim and that they were not able to pursue it further. Latimer Lee's delays and mistakes nearly lost us our property, as the sellers thought we were just time wasting and not serious to complete. From poor communication, radio silence to emails and phone calls, our main contact changing repeatedly and even when it was escalated to management there was no improvement in service. If you called, you felt like you were dealing with insolent school girls who just could not be bothered, no one taking ownership or having the knowledge or ability to answer questions or instil any faith of their capabilities. Buying a home can be stressful enough, you don't need your team to add to that, you want complete faith that they will understand all that is required, not you having to constantly chase and remind them of what they legally need to do for you,how and why. as management is as poor as we experienced it is no wonder we suffered so much, as staff will not know any better.

The first move was particularly complicated as my wife and I both owned houses before we got married, but the team was able to sort us out very capably. We've also used them for our wills and again have no real complaints. The only minor grumble would be the usual one, I suppose -- that sorting these things out always seems to take for ever; Fieldings Porter did sometimes seem a bit slow, but no worse than anywhere else.
