I liked the fact that it closes at 8pm, the location is great because it's next to market32 and downtown bagels my go to places. However the young lady who painted my nails didn't do a great job at all!!!!. My feet came out ok but my nails polish came out with tiny bubbly bumps, (see picture) she didn't paint it fully, I like my nail shape to be almond and it looks all twisted, All in all my nails just wasn't done correctly. I didn't ask her to correct it because I was extremely tired and it was already 7:30pm and I just didn't wanna bother, thank God it wasn't gel or else i would've had a fit. I might return if I need my nails done last minute but next time I'll make sure I try someone else. Horrible job overall! read more

This little tiny place is almost always bustling. My wife finally convinced me to go for a pedicure. To learn how to "take care of myself " a little more. I went for a pedicure with Linda. I picked the paraffin wax pedicure. $45. Why did I wait so long to do this. Linda is amazing! She did such a meticulous job of trimming my toenails, removal of callouses a fifteen minute foot massage and the paraffin wax treatment. I'm hooked. I've been back three times since and always ask for Linda and I'm willing to wait! read more

I've been to this nail spa twice and have had opposite experiences. After my last encounter with it, two stars is far too much. The first time I went, I went on a slow weekday night with some of my girlfriends. We got pedicures. The pedicure was nice and I thought to myself, "This should be my back up nail salon." I mean, the inside is really nice and the treatment offered while your nails drying is above average for this area. I didn't like how the man didn't shape my toe nails the same but I could live with it. So the following week I wanted to get my standard gel manicure from my favorite nail salon in Newburgh. I love the salon by the shoprite plaza, right next to family dollar. All the nail techs there do GREAT work for incredible prices. I drove there on a Sunday and found out that's the only day they're closed. I instantly thought of Glamour 1 Nails. It was the perfect time to test out the nail techs there. The prices are more expensive at glamour and the quality is for shit. I just had to get that out of the way before I start my rant. I waited an hour to be seen. Their way of deciding who gets nails done first is absurd. Instead of choosing the people who arrive before others, they go based on gel, acrylic or plain mani. I saw a woman who came in for acrylics before a regular mani wait an extended period of time because they took a regular mani who came in after her. They must've thought the regular mani would take less time but they were wrong because she was very particular in what design she wanted. Poor time management aside, I finally get seen by a woman who is genuinely sweet but didn't even understand the picture I showed her. Her coworkers translated perfectly what I wanted after repeating it to me to make sure. My nails came out HORRID in comparison to the picture. If I could post a picture then I would. The quality of nail polish used was a joke. It retained air bubbles and had to be layered at least 5 times for it to look semi acceptable. Finally, I get home and try to tell myself that this is just a first world problem. There are more serious things in life than a gel man from hell. To be honest, there really are. I was able to calm myself down... Until the nail polish started chipping and breaking off the next day! I've never been so unhappy with a nail salon. I will NEVER return, not even for a pedicure. The salon is so bad that I should have warned the masses by standing outside of their business while holding up my hands. read more

I loved this nail salon as it's not as expensive, has great hours, and is time consuming. However, my recent visit i was getting flirtatious comments from an older male employee working there. I kept telling myself he was just making jokes (to make me feel comfortable enough to sit through the appointment.) However, reflecting on the experience he was rubbing my hands and starting at me while continuously saying that i looked good. Recently moved to the area and was looking for a new salon to do my UV gel fill. Went there on a Thursday, so not a busy weekend day. I called beforehand to see if they could do a UV gel fill, and to see if they were busy. They said it was slow. It seems like they only have one or two techs that can do this, as I went there and was waiting 40min while some techs roamed around free. I left and came back later and was able to be seen. Overall the woman seemed like she took care with my nails, but I left there with nail polish on my finger pads (how did it even get there??) and excess hard UV on the sides of my nails that I had to file off on my own because they were sharp on the sides and sticking out. Overall I am not happy, and will be looking for a different new salon. read more

Great customer service- bad product? Job? Went for a mani pedi based on reviews and recommendations. Got the stone pedicure and it was great. The guy doing it was super nice about the rocks being too hot. I got gel on my finger nails on Saturday afternoon and by Sunday evening they were all peeling off. I went back on Tuesday and told them. The owner was very nice and said they would redo my nails, no charge. (Which I thought was great) I got them done again...it's been almost 4 days since they've been redone and they're all peeling again. I'm glad they fixed it but it shouldn't be peeling this quick. (Mine usually last about 2 weeks) I'm a SAHM so I don't do anything crazy with my finger nails to make them lift and peel off. read more

I read a few reviews and decided to give this salon a try due to it's proximity to my home. I usually obtain my pedicures from two upscale salons in Manhattan. The salon is located in an ideal location but can not accommodate a large number of customer traffic. My walk-in wait time was approximately a half an hour on a Tuesday morning, possibly making an appointment may provide customer satisfaction. The ambience is very lackluster, nothing special to write home about. The staff are hospitable but not all trained for the services the salon provides. I opted for a milk and honey pedicure, my technician took his time with the service but I was not happy with the application of the nail polish or the shaping of my toe nails. I also wanted an additional service but had to wait for the main technician to finish with another customer due to the inability of my tech to provide the service. After already being at the salon for more than two hours, my patience was exhausted. I cannot recommend this salon, I rather pay the toll over the Newburgh-Beacon bridge and visit Sage nail salon in Poughkeepsie. read more

Stop coming here after being a faithful customer for 2 years. I finally convinced my honey to get a pedicure. Now There was plenty of staff working that day and an elderly Asian man was sent to do my man's pedicure. I think the manager Kim did this as a joke or something because she was laughing as my honey's face twisted up. So I asked her if Judy could do his feet or another female, which is not uncommon to request a nail tech. She says yeah and sends over a very a women who is clearly a masculine gay women and all they were all laughing and talking smack in their language. All except the gay Asian lady. Her face was red with embarrassment I felt soooo bad for her. I couldn't believe how they exploited her like that. I have not been back since. Friend suggested here they rushed my pedicure and I got a hot stone (waste of money!) she was done in 15mins then got full set and there was ONE person doing acrylic she was juggling customers n the phone. All my nails are uneven not the same length n she didn't even paint my entire nail. When I pointed it out she laughed n ignored my concern. Then my nails weren't even painted fully and she's like all done ... long story short I would never go back would not recommend and they are expensive to be rushed through don't waste your time was of $70 read more

I really wanted to like this place because it's local and convenient but the job they did on my nails was terrible. I get powder gel. So after waiting for an hour finally a gentleman starts working on my nails. From the get go I knew it's not going to be good. He didn't prep the nails the way they're supposed to, then he dipped my nails in the powder, did minimal filing so all my nails are super thick and bumpy, and crooked, I had to go home and file them myself. He then applied top coat not even fully covering the powder. Not to mention the fact that this service is called powder manicure but not one cuticle was cut or pushed, and as a result my nails look like they were done 2 weeks ago . I went there on Wednesday, today is Saturday and my nails are lifting. I never give people hard time even though I'm picky, I tip good, overall I'm a good customer but this time I really want to call them and ask them to redo it all. Horrible customer service. Had been before and their work was mediocre, but they're open later then most other places. Went in this time to get my old set soaked off and to get a new full set. They were busy so I prepared myself for a long wait because I know they're slow. The entire time I'm waiting they allowed this 7 or 8 year old boy to run wild around the shop without requesting any intervention from his mother. After waiting about an hour another customer came in and they immediately put the foils on her nails to soak, but I'm still waiting. Then they called for a customer who came in after me to take a chair. Completely fed up, I just left. The place across the street is much better, I'll just have to try and leave my office a little earlier so I can make it there in time. I would never, ever go back to this salon. Ever. read more

Glamour 1 is fast and inexpensive. There is rarely a wait although it's usually busy but they have plenty of employees to handle customers. Large selection of services including waxing. I am not a fan of wax but I do see quite a few customers come and go while I'm there getting my nails done which is a good sign. When I arrived at the salon it was very busy, I checked in clearly stating I had an 11a appointment. Several other woman arrived at the same time two of which also were for pedicures. I went here based on what I read on yelp & I was very happy I did! While it was a little further from my house than I wanted it was worth it! I have tried the Gel polish at MANY different locations. Pretty much 80% of the times I have had it done it peels right off. I am almost at 2 weeks now & I bet I can get 3 weeks out of it from Glamour! And they only charge $25!!! I will be back! read more
