The cons: this is a party campground with majority permanent RV's. They had karaoke on our last night. At first it was entertaining to listen to. But after 11pm they were all drunk and karaoke turned into a raunchy dance party. Not at all kid friendly. The karaoke and loud music didn't bother me, the last hours selection of music however was not kid friendly and I feel like if someone was camping with children this may be something they'd want to know ahead of time. Tent camping notes: sites 72-81 flood if it rains. Some of the full hookup sites in this section don't have caps on the sewer drain and you can smell sewage (we created a cap with cardboard to keep the smell down). Sites 131-145 are nice sites with water and electric and away from the party scene but they are far from the bathhouse. There is a port-a-john available.

We asked and were told they were long, wide, and easy to park and no hanging trees. All of which were not true. Some of the back-ins in the back of the park looked easier, but the front/main section is very tight, congested with rigs and cars. The sites are not well maintained. Very low hanging trees and we had 3 picnic tables piled in our spot. Our rig is 37' which we told them. This spot should not be rented to more than a 32' max. This part of the park was getto like. Now, because we couldn't possible fit our rig in the spot, and we didn't want to ruin our roof and sides of our RV by the trees, they offered us the back 40 where there is no sewer but electric and water. Check the posts some of 50 and some 30amp. This area is spacious and beautiful. So happy we couldn't fit in the other space. The negative is it is a long drive over a pot-holed filled dirt road. The office gave us bad information regarding the original site, was no help concerning our need for parking assistance or tree trimming, but in the end our final spot was nice. We were refunded our money for the cost of a sewer. So bottom line reserve a pull-thru or the back for

They have a covered area where a large crowd could gather and have a cookout, gas grills supplied. Each site has a raised fire pit and nice picnic table. These would be premium sites anywhere else. Nice staff. Very organized. They have a well stocked store with some good snacks too. For anyone wanting to attend church there is a non denominational Christian church on the property. Play areas for the kids with nice equipment. Putting greens. They sell LP. They have a dog wash. This place is in the top few percent of RV resorts. We have stayed all over the US and can't name but a few that are equal. If you want to stay nearby, definitely check this out.

The bathroom and shower facilities are the cleanest I have ever seen. The staff is friendly and this RV park is very close to many attractions throughout the Amish Community. Tip: You can not place rugs on the grass- each site is paved so there really is not a need for one. Note: Restaurants, grocery stores and local attractions are not open on Sunday. Be sure you come prepared if arriving late Saturday or Sunday.

It almost feels like stepping into another environment entirely, especially knowing the area is dedicated to wildlife conservation. Our campsite was quiet and well spaced out, which made it easy to enjoy the surroundings without constant noise from nearby groups. At night, the sky was incredibly clear, and the lack of city lights made stargazing surprisingly good. Facilities were simple but adequate, which fits the outdoor-focused setting. Everything we needed was available, and the grounds were kept in good condition. The staff we encountered were welcoming and clearly proud of the property, offering helpful guidance about the area. Camping at The Wilds is more than just pitching a tent--it's an opportunity to spend time in a unique natural environment that feels both peaceful and expansive. It's a great destination if you're looking for something a little different from the usual campground experience.

Not one of them had anything but positive vibes and were very helpful. We spent the night in one of the Yurts. I'd suggest getting one of the 'hard to get to yurts' as the view isn't nearly as obstructed by mature trees. Our yurt #7 had an amazing view! We found out that late afternoon that the place can handle a torrential downpour with no issues. The after hours meal we got for being guests was incredible! Kudos to the entire food staff for their efforts. We took the horseback tour the day we got there and again, the handlers(Jalin(sp?) and Melissa) were incredible. The safari tour led by Simin(again, the nicest fella) was interesting and enjoyable. If you have back issues, please be aware that the windowless buses shift back and forth tremendously. Lots of animals. Lots of details given by Simon. Would we do this again? Heck yeah! There aren't a ton of extracurricular things to do here besides the safari, the horse or the zip line so if you're bringing kids, plan accordingly. The only bad thing is lack of playground and way too far in the middle of nowhere Ohio to go elsewhere for food.

I love this campground. For example, there's a concession stand that has some fire food and there's Wibits on the lake but for the people how don't want to get their hair wet or go underwater in a lake like me, there is also public lake access for swimming to. There is also peddle boats that you peddle on the lake which give you a good view of the lake without having to rent a expensive pontoon boat. They also have kayaks. And they have peddle carts on land for fun travel around the park but me personally I've never used them but they look quite fun. The vibe there is also very good and campfire rings are included with each site though they are kinda dirty so I'd recommend rapping tin foil around food before cooking. The bathrooms do have washing machines and there is a vending machine that is like 50 cents I think and it has washing machine stuff. Just so yall know if your bringing your bike just know that most of the park is rock so it may be a bit hard to ride on. Same with dogs, the rocks may be a bit hard on their paws so just walk them in the grass until there's pavement. Also there is a bigfoots big ride every Saturday night which is a tractor hauling this long wagon with benches in it and it is quite fun. The camp store is well stocked and has some camping must haves like wood and such. The creek behind silk stocking is a great spot for fishing just make sure to release the fish afterwards since they are Austin lake's property. Overall though the park is clean and the bathhouses are nice though since the location is so out-of-no-where the water is very preserved and costs 50 cents for 10 mins but if you go in your RV/Cabin it's free. Also tents are allowed as long as it's just one that is the max.

But probably the most important is the camp management. And this is where NRC really shines. The daughter/father team that recently purchased the campground have made it an absolute pleasure to stay here. They work tirelessly to improve the campground and are committed to providing a safe, fun, family friendly camping experience. The campground is conveniently located just east of Zanesville, Ohio - just minutes off of I70. It is just off the "National Road", minutes from Zanesville, "Pottery Capital of the World," and the Wilds animal adventure park. Columbus, home of The Ohio State Buckeyes is just an hour away. The campground features rolling hills, two stocked ponds and plenty of shade trees in a true park-like setting. Sites accommodate all types of camping from motor coach to tent. There are also several cabins of various sizes available. Amenities include: camp store, coin laundry, play grounds, corn hole, volleyball court, fishing ponds, sun deck, dump stations and recreation room. The owners also have special events on a regular basis, such as live bands, DJs, and stand up comedians. The park gets full on weekends, but is pretty quiet during the week. Overall it has a very quiet, safe, comfortable, family friendly vibe. Sites are available by day, week or month and seasonal sites are also available (the park does close for the winter season.) There is no cable or park wide WiFi, but free WiFi is available at the camp office/store. We had decent Verizon and Sprint mobile coverage. Local NBC is available if you have an HD antenna. We stayed for 2 months and were very sad when it was time for us to move on. We would definitely stay again if in the area, and highly recommend you check it out!
