We had family from out of country & state coming. Plans, vacation, money spent on travel ruined from this place. They offered no compensation yet to stay in the tiny yurts as 5 people. There is no social space. There is a tiny balcony for 2 people & a bed. So you want 5 people to just hangout on a bed for multiple days? The yurts are a couples retreat. Completely unprofessional giving zero adequate options for compensation. They themselves have a 14 day policy and will charge you for cancelling. Yet we get the bare minimum of just getting a refund. We wasted travel money, animal boarding, time, & food money. This place used to be a favorite of ours. We been coming here for years. I will never come back or recommend again for how we were treated. Completely unacceptable.

As we got closer to the trip, and more friends heard about the retreat, a larger group asked to join. The owner was super responsive when I asked to increase the size for the booking and we all ended up having an incredible time. It's the perfect getaway for a summer weekend or any time for that matter. I just wish it was a little closer to Columbus. A few friends wanted to camp down by the lake and the home fit everyone else perfectly with room to spare. The property is amazing. The home is right off the road, but the lake is down a long path, out in the middle of nowhere. We spent the days swimming, grilling out, playing lawn games and eventually hanging out by a fire thanks to the wood that the property manager had left for us down by the lake. There's certain places your mind just functions at 100%. For me, this was one of them. I wrote the entire outline for a movie and began part of the screenplay. Not long after I stayed, my writing partner and I sold the script and it ended up being produced up in Canada. Secluded Lake Lodge was actually a big part of that whole experience -- so thank you again! Can't wait to come back sometime. I'm actually going to reach out to my friends and see if we can find a few days this summer to make it back out.

My main complaint was the behavior of the property manager. The rental is specifically secluded, from the title of the house to the words spoken by the owner you would be alone completely, even so that the key is left under the mat when coming and going to avoid interaction with anyone. - and that's not what we got. When we were grilling outside in the front at like 8pm a car drove past the house over and over and over again scaring the crap out of my guests and making me uncomfortable too. Eventually the payroll of the house stopped and we tucked in. Later in the morning around 8 the property manager stopped in front of the barn across the street and walked over and talked to one of my friends. Asking her with a mean demeanor who she was and why we were grilling and what we were doing, making her justify our actions at fucking 8 in the morning after a night of drinking. Not only that but he didn't even talk to me, he talked to my friend who in no way deserved what felt like an 8 am bunk check. He was telling her that he had had bad people rent the house as of late and they did things like burn cans and things?? Even if he did have tenants behave in a way that made it more difficult for him to clean up after them the rules of the house say to drink responsibly and not let pets on the bed.. nothing else. We did not deserve to be bombarded, disrespectfully and not even directly due to the behavior or other renters. The beds were also the worst I've ever encountered, grass on the way back to the lake was unkempt and made walking a nightmare, the house smelled like old people, and the decorations were also very old. The owner also never returned my email about my complaint. All in all had the encounter with the property manager not happened i would have been pleased because i had already seen the house but it ruined my view of the stay and i would never go back.

It is the personal home of Dave Longaberger from the Longaberger basket company. My BF's mom was a star seller of these baskets once upon a time so he is very familiar! I booked the fanciest room--The Dresden Suite! High ceilinged, king sized 4-poster bed, fireplace, sitting and desk area, small hallway with back access and a big jetted tub in the middle of the room. Features are great but the building, rooms, carpeting, furniture are quite old and worn. I think due to the age of the building and the lack of staff, the entire place did not feel very clean. Our room was tidy when we checked in but upon closer inspection, corners were dusty, papers and brochures were water stained, carpet was stained in places and peeling. This might have been an oversight but the bathroom didn't have shampoo or body wash stocked. There was liquid hand soap but my BF swears it was watered down and not quite effective. During our 1-night stay here, we only saw one person the whole time working and it was also the owner, Joy. She embodies her name as she warmly pads around suggesting we look around and offered to show us 2 additional rooms, which was fun. We didn't opt for the 4-course dinner that she cooks personally from scratch. It was $100 or something and includes a bottle of wine which would've been wasted since neither of us drink. We went out for dinner but upon getting back to the inn, Joy prepared a dessert for us--so cute! We got a small chocolate lava cake with a scoop of ice cream and a strawberry each! The room was stifling and we were unable to adjust the temperature too much. It was freezing outside yet we had to have the A/C on because of how hot it was in the room. We borrowed 2 of their many DVDs and put it on the background while we intensely played a board game. The next morning, Joy made us a delicious light breakfast. We headed out to the nearby abandoned Longaberger retail ghost town. Oh, and Joy's dog Chewbacca is adorable. She could definitely use a bath and grooming session but she was so friendly!

The county jails and prisons in this state are horrible! Yes I know people are in jail for reasons BUT to be ignored by staff, skipped medication (if given at all), Unusable toilets, no heat and no thermals.... is asking for family members to get sick and possibly die. The C.O.s talk to the inmate as if they are dirt (can't say dogs because dogs in pounds are treated better) Phone and visit screens are the worst but yet they have no problem taking families money. Jails and prisons get checks for housing people but yet do not take care of the people or the buildings. God forbid someone has an accident or mentally unstable and smear it on the walls.. C.O.s go in with Hazmat suits but force the inmates to clean it and maybe get a pair of gloves (so let's share the Hep. ) EVERY jail and prison in Ohio needs to be looked over by the Feds! Anyone that has been locked up or family members of someone who has been locked up in Ohio should be contacting the news, health dept, entire staff of the jails/prisons along with other outside agencies! Regardless of why they are incarcerated they are still HUMAN BEINGS and should be treated with some kind of dignity. Absolutely disgusting!

Found Trash under beds, sink had dried mucus, fridge wasn't cleaned, found a laptop under the bed! But housekeeping argued they clean under beds daily. AC smells musty.
