But once he collects the retainer fee and the client signs on, he produces no results and drags on the process month after month. Communications to him were largely ignored but he's very quick to collect payments. Often, he charges the client all kinds of nonsense administrative fees. If these fees were ever questioned, then he'll charge additional fees for his response. The disruptive cycle drags on while very little attention is devoted to the actual case. It's this type of irresponsible and selfish practice that gives many lawyers a bad name.
