Approximately 8.2 miles round trip 1900 feet elevation gain, with the highest point 4900 feet. I do recommend getting there early, before 9am, as the parking lot is very small and fills quickly! 4 stars because of the crowds. The trail starts downhill which is a confidence booster especially when you are backpacking. But what goes down, must come up! The last mile is probably what classifies this hike as hard. Hiking up, over loose gravel and boulders and up to almost 5000 feet elevation is difficult for us non-Colorado living people. On the trail you cross many small creek beds that were almost all dried up when we went here at the end of the summer. There is plenty of water at the lake for water source. There are multiple well groomed areas for tents along the trail uphill from the lake. I appreciated these spots at night when the mosquitoes came out and we're a nuisance (only when getting water). Speaking of night... do dress for cold weather! You do get the breeze coming off of Shuksan's glaciers. Very little salmon berries left on the main trail but plenty of huckleberries left. Night time is beautiful. The sky is completely full of stars and the sound of waterfalls coming out of the glaciers is relaxing. No campfires allowed at the lake. Pack out trash and human and animal waste. Trailhead provides blue bags for this.

This day-use, picnic site - located across the highway from Sasquatch Provincial Park - provided a…read morelovely, quiet spot along Harrison Lake for us to spend some quality time befor heading into Harrison Hots Springs for a stay last week. It was too early to attempt a check-in there, and we had remembered how much we enjoyed doing the same here a couple years ago. It worked out perfectly. We arrived from Hope in the still 'early' morning, and enjoyed some self-made sandwiches and beverages for a sort of breakfast/brunch, and absorbed all the natural sights and sounds. The latter included many birds (several ravens, hawks, and various ground birds), and the Lake itself -- for a couple of hours. The whole, main picnic area in the Park was ours for the entire stay. A morning, very pleasant, and much-enjoyed stop. Would I like it there when crowded with families - no - but for us, on this early, weekday morning, it was a lovely, natural treat to a portion of our time away from home last week.

There's a vacation rental property on the same street, so we stayed in our motorhome here, while our friend stayed in a unit across the way (unrelated business, but convenient in our circumstances nonetheless).

Most tenants stay in their campers and never come out. If they do, they're friendly enough, just realize that this friendliness isn't genuine. We were friendly to everyone there. Planned on growing food for the community and guests and having cookouts together. We started hundreds of plants to get it going, then the resident drunk decided to abuse us and take apart our garden as he pleased, so we decided to move on, as his violent outbursts made us feel unsafe. Such a beautiful place to live and stay, cloaked in sadness and darkness, as the old men who live there, are bitter and unhappy with their lives. It feels heavy and tragic seeing the elderly men, stuck in small campers, as they have limited options. It clearly states in the rules for the park, belligerent drunks will be evicted, that is false. They will be allowed to stay, until they drive out all the good people. My advice, keep to yourself, don't allow yourself to be sucked in and it will be a pleasant place to stay, short term. We were there a year and a half. Just enough time for the true colors to be shown. We would never even visit Glacier again, after our experience.

We are locals but it was awesome to "get away" and have a staycation. Beautiful location and just steps away from the quaint little town of Fort Langley. This is a nice campground with plenty of amenities. However, there's too much traffic for my liking, and the trains are a bit much as they're only a stones throw away and sound their horns every time all night long. People are constantly driving in and out of the park up to and slightly past the cut off. If you're parked near the road it gets old in a hurry. The general store in the park is fairly priced & handy. The wifi is very limited at your site but is unlimited at the store. It costs $25 extra per week to park a second vehicle here or $10 a night. A little bit much imo. There were loud gun like bangs during the first day I was here and police coming through the first night I was here. As I write this at 21:44 there have been four vehicles through here in the last 15 minutes. Three of which were diesel, and one shining their lights directly into my camp. If you're going to stay here, try and get a spot to the rear of the grounds. It cost me roughly $300 to stay here for a week.

The beach park section of Larrabee park is gorgeous. There's ample parking, then a decent that's…read moreabout a 45 second walk to a grassy lawn and a beautiful stage built in the early 1900s. There were people performing music on the stage and park goers enjoying on the grass. Just to the left of the stage there's a path to the beach. Another 2-3 minute descent brings you to a trail going left and right. The path to the left is a short trail to a rock you can sit on and climb down to get to the water. Further that way there's another beach. The path to the right leads to a nice beach with a great view and a shade tree. There were some bugs in the washed up kelp, but nothing too bothersome imho. We had a stand up paddleboard so we used the path on the right after the stage area. I would recommend anyone bringing gear down (scuba, kayaks, paddleboards) to use this beach. Larger crafts can use the boat ramp just north of this beach, and you can drive right up to that ramp (north of the stage and parking area). It was a beautiful park and a great place to picnic, enjoy the water, and view the sunset!

The campsite was a good size, clean, and under a comfortable tree canopy with a soft pine dirt ground. We felt like there was comfortable space between our campsite and others. The lake and hiking trail were both easily accessible. Huge bonus that the hikes start right on the river. So though we had kids who were too little to make it to summit, the views along the way were spectacular (I do recommend making the whole hike if you can though!). My only complaint is how hard this campsite is to book, I tried in February to get something any time in spring or summer and there was only one weekend available for our RV. I do expect however for tent camping there are more sites available.

After kayaking in on a Friday night there wasn't a lot of space on the hill so we had to settle for the beach which was a bit windy but still nice. Most people had traveled by boat and brought more things but we kept it pretty light. Saturday morning a large group left opening up a site with great views for us to snag and it was beautiful waking up to such a lovely sight. There are two locations with composte toilets, sites with picnic tables and fire pits. No water access so pack your own and there's lots of mice so be sure to have a way to store your food. Also please make sure and pack out whatever you pack in as there are no garbage facilities or regular maintenance and we want to keep the mousey home nice, yah know?! When not gawking at the view there's lots to do on Cypress Island. We did a 5 mile out and back up to a little pond and airfield, there's a protected bay for swimming and paddle boarding, and lots of wild life to see. We watched eagles, sea otters, dolphins, sea lions, and tons of birds..and of course the mousies, while we visited. Lovely spot!

The shower water in the community shower is barely lukewarm. A bit later I was able to get a sneak peek at the hot water heaters and they were turned all the way down to the lowest possible temperature setting. This maybe fine during the summer but it is now headed into winter and the park refuses to provide hot shower water in the community restroom. Other than the cold shower water, the park is very clean and well maintained.
