I am a teacher and one Monday morning I woke up with the world spinning. I was so dizzy I couldn't walk. I frantically called my doctor and made an appointment for that day. He diagnosed me with a fancy name for positional vertigo, meaning that every time I move my head a certain way, I would get extremely dizzy. He told me that if it didn't go away in a few days, I should go see a specialist, an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor. As I mentioned, I am a teacher and can't afford to miss school. The next day, my sister suggested I go see a chiropractor. My husband had been seeing Doctor John for lower back and neck issues and he was extremely pleased, so I called Doctor John and he got me in that very day. After giving me a few tests, he diagnosed me with the same positional vertigo. He told me what caused it and how he was going to cure it. And, I can say he did just that. I needed my sister to help me walk into his office, but I actually walked out without assistance. Doctor John recommended that I see him one more time for a follow- up, so after teaching school, I went to see him. He followed up with the same head exercises and I felt better. I used to not believe in chiropractors, but he was so knowledgeable about my vertigo and actually helped me. I was truly amazed. Truth be told, I was terrified of chiropractors. Having my body contorted and forced to crack was not my idea of "treatment". Like many people, I have trouble with my shoulders and neck - sometimes it is difficult to hold my head up or turn my head side-to-side. My wife would never go to see a chiropractor but once she visited with Doctor John she has never regretted it and cannot say enough about how much he helps her. Dr. Brockway has been GrEaT. I injured my lower back over Labor Day weekend and couldn't sit or stand up without crying and could barely shuffle/walk. In the first visit, he could feel right away what was out of place, made some adjustments, and let me take as much time as needed to move around because rolling from one side to the other was excrutiating. I walked out of his office easier than I had come in, and had vitamins/supplements to start taking - no pain pills, which I appreciated. He used kinesio tape on the second visit and by the end of the week, sitting up and standing up wasn't so much of a problem. I was involved in an auto accident in February of 2010 and I had some residual neck pain from the accident. I was very impressed with Dr. John. Having never seen a chiropractor before, I was somewhat nervous and did not know what to expect. I was experiencing some pretty bad lower back pain and numbness in my feet. Dr. John really helped me get around to feeling better with simple exercises and regular adjustments. One day I woke up in excruciating pain and could not move at all. He made an emergency house visit to see if he could help me, and I still appreciate it so much that he cared.
