Although the apartment was a little old and tired, it was well designed and had a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, flat screen TV in the lounge, good bathroom and a comfortable bed. Although it's in dodgy Hindley Street, it's in an excellent location - just a 1 minute walk to the tram and Rundle Mall. This is a really good value option for a stay in the CBD.

It was hard finding 3 br accommodation in Adelaide during the school holidays and I was concerned about being on Hindley Street but once inside the apartment we felt safe and removed from the noise of the city. Hindley Street is full of colourful characters so I wouldn't spend a lot of time walking down it with younger children but for our age group we had every convenience just outside our door. Great location for shopping, dining and nightlife.I will definitely make Millers Apartments my first choice when I return to Adelaide.

We visited them while they were there and I'd never realised these apartments were there even though I'd walked past it a hundred times. I just always thought, what is that huge shark head doing there? It just reminded me of something you'd see at mini golf. Anyway, the place it self was really nice and had a great view of the beach. The balcony was big enough for about ten people and had a little BBQ, and out door setting. The inside consisted of three double beds, and two single beds. I was most impressed with the large spa bath in the front bathroom. The kitchen was a bit small but seeing as though Jetty Road isn't far away I'd doubt many meals would be cooked here. There are other apartments to choose from which I didn't see inside of, but I'd definitely suggest choosing one facing the beach so you can enjoy the view.

Initially some things were not in place which I got fixed eg some lights out, safe still locked. Some items in the room were cheap - ironing board - had to ask for a steam iron. The room was not 100% clean - just some small areas missed eg a few drawers. The staff were very friendly and were keen to assist us at all times so some of these things were fixed up. There was nothing in the fridge and you could buy items which were more affordable near reception which was a neat idea. The bed was excellent and top quality which made it very comfortable to stay in the room for the week. The location was brilliant which gave us easy access to so many things.

This is definitely one of those places, which has been transformed into a pretty awesome pub actually. Honestly, the atmosphere here is pretty good, and they also have a decent sized beer garden as well. Oh, and they also have a nice range of beers on tap too.

It has a much more inner city feel about it, and of course a great selection of beers. The other thing about this pub is that it is basically located on the wharf, which means that it has some pretty good views, particularly outside. The service was quite good as well, though of course the problem comes down to chosing the right pub.

Those that have been here prior to the renovations said it was a massive improvement. I found the space well lit, airy and light with ship adornments around the place, clearly an ode to the Port. It wasn't very busy for a Friday night, which is disappointing to see. A sad sight in lovely Port Adelaide. We were seated and water was offered. We perused the menu and the specials board and made our selections in record time. Orders was placed at the counter which shares the same space as the bar. Food came out in a timely manner and was nicely presented. It seem every dish was praised for tastiness. I had the seafood platter for one, but asked for my fished to be grilled, which they obliged. My only gripe is the soft shell crab - that was a joke. It was the tiniest crab you can imagine. Would have prefered prawns in its place. Curry, blackened chicken, Wharf Tower burger, pie and chilli prawns was ordered. We were thoroughly full, thus it is safe to say that portion was on point. Even if we didn't go where we were meant to for dinner, the Lighthouse Wharf made a nice substitute. Happy to come back for breakfast or lunch in the near future. P.S. Anyway, since I don't need to stay in hotels when I come to Adelaide, we just basically remained in the bar. Well, they certainly do have a great selection of beers here, which certainly does make it stand out from many of the other suburban pubs that I have visited, and the service was okay. However, what I really did like about this place was the balcony that sits next to the lake, and gives you some magnificent views. In a way this place is pretty cool, especially with the beer selection.

The phrase 'airplane food' popped into my mind, but there was no need to worry. For a start, planes probably couldn't take off with the generous helpings dished up at this fancy pub. On top of the half-price carvery deal the night we attended was an offer of free soup - a choice of two soups, in fact. Cheapskate heaven. I won't go on about the consistently high quality of the traditional fare offered by the professional kitchens of most pubs in Adelaide. Suffice to say that our roasts were definitely up to scratch. My beef was tender and juicy, yet with a crunchy crust. My partner's pork was succulent with lashings of perfectly roasted crackling. The gravy in both instances was proper pan-juice gravy, not the glutinous powder sort. The vegetable selections in the Bain Marie were regularly topped up with fresh material and the salads were a cut above the usual noodle, spud or 'green' alternatives. What a delicious meal we each enjoyed. It may have been a bit warm had we been lunching next to the vast expanse of north facing plate glass at our elbows, but the view at dinner time across the lake was ideal. Turn up your nose at soup, roast and beer if you like, but sitting back, with a lake view and a well-filled belly at the West Lakes Hotel, I say, 'Suit yourself!'
