It's a Jazz club with live acts every night, its a bar lounge. It's sophisticated dark and intimate. " Once you're inside Step back", says the purple haired door mistress with the voice activated LED t shirt, "and look up". Apparently painted by a famous Sydney artist, there is a huge mural on the ceiling. The place was pumping on Friday night. Jimmy Vargas and Mia Mortal (say it slowly... ) Vargas like a Brian Ferry look-a-like is apparently a self titled 'Croonoir' from San Francisco's cabaret. Mia Mortal has been sashaying the burlesque scene for the past 25 years. The show was a stunner. The Owner Craig was at the door when we walked in, he told us he'd moved up from Melbourne, and had been running clubs like Lazybones for years. He said "If it's not underground, I'm not interested" I liked his Moxie, and I had to concur. The hipster scene seems finally on it's knees with the clientele here being an over 30s crowd. I admit, I felt very relaxed. I even saw a member of a well known Sydney rock band here. If you want to stay ahead of the game? Say Hello to sophisticated class! Lazybones you're doing it right. $10 on the door gets you entry. Wine and Beer are priced reasonably, cocktails at $18 seemed a little pricey, but it looked like top shelf liquor. The menu, while I didnt try it, featured "Bunny Chow" with pick your own topping for around $12 as I recall. There were also Samosas and curries. It's very loud on a Friday night, Adults only. Good for date night or a chilled out trip into sin alley.

Booze brings us together. Wow. This place is very cool. The staff are rather boisterous which brings down to earth, what could easily be a very snobby little locale ( only because of the the high class booze and all those chesterfields and floor to ceiling bookshelves - sploosh) Not having a good sample to go by, this place seems a go to for girls nights, and the night I visited there was a medium sized group of ladies cutting loose and not caring who heard their hollerin. Wine is a gal's best friend and I watched as they palmed off a would be suitor with nothing more than a glance. Heros. Wine by the glass in big bowled wine glasses with a great selection, and Elvis who I presume is the owner, knows his tipples. My pick of the eve was the Alto Monte - $14 a glass but by George that wine is as delightful as a magical miniature new born fawn prancing across your tongue on a rainbow. Food is basically nibbles. Sharing platters: a cheese one, a meat and cheese one and a Vego one with Cashew cheese. Toasties including one with Brie, cranberry and Rabbit terrine. Delicious. Anyone can google the origin of the name of this place, and I think it does every justice to the moniker. I think this may become my regular hangout.

They've gone with a New York theme with heavily graffitied walls, hip hop beats & deli style sandwiches, meats & jaffles. The cocktail list is split into 3 sections of classics, modern & creamy all coming in a shade under $20 a pop created by genuine experienced mixologists. If you are expecting fancy drinks and cocktails, then you need to head somewhere else. But if you want a nice drink, with a relaxed vibe and atmosphere then come right in. They do have a fine list of cocktails (nothing overly fancy - but sometimes that is not a good thing), and very good list of wine. This bar also does food - I honestly didn't try the food but it looked (and smelled) quite good. There is seats outside the bar, and also if you head back there is a small sitting area out the back. However, this is a small bar so if you are coming with a large group you might find it hard to get a table. Especailly because all the tables are for an average size of 4.

Staff were friendly and willing to make suggestions and the food smelt pretty awesome too! It's quite small- so don't come here with the extended family, but I will definitely be coming back here again. *for the record, nothing wrong with a Tooheys old every now and then- just making a point.

The old garage site near the station at Turrumurra is now a very neat bar and small plate food joint. Service is per young people who have somehow been imbued with a sense of service, pride, and fun. How does a lawyer do THAT ? Food - absolutely fantastic ! Crab on toast, quail lolipops, octopus, prawns, mushroom and truffle tarts, the food is brought out fast and it is very very good, and this is the first night! I think the younger north shore people will find the cost acceptable if not areyouserious cheap. At tonight's setting there was an even mix, perhaps 60:40 oldies : youngies. The space has been done brilliantly, I only wish they had left the outside looking like a garage but that might have been pushing it a bit. There's a long way to go for the UNS but this is a huge step in the right direction. Finally.
