We were very excited to visit Glittering Lights for the first time (Saturday), but we left just a little disappointed. The experience started off on a frustrating note as we waited in line for a little over an hour. The system they use to funnel cars in really needs to be revised because it felt pretty chaotic. After sitting in line for about 35 minutes, an employee suddenly opened two additional lanes to the left of us. Cars raced past, and about 30 to 40 vehicles that had been behind us ended up well ahead of us. It was discouraging. Once we finally made it in, we were given five mini candy canes, pamphlets, and vouchers for our drinks. We ordered two hot chocolates and two apple ciders. The drinks came in collectible plastic cups, which was a nice touch, but they were not hot at all. They were barely lukewarm, which was disappointing, especially on a chilly night. After grabbing our drinks, we had to wait in another line to enter the lights. This line funneled five lanes down into one and also allowed Fast Pass holders to merge in and cut the line, adding another 30 to 35 minutes to our wait. While we waited, we listened to their HoHo Radio. In theory, it's a fun idea with Christmas music, movie trivia, and little holiday extras. It runs through YouTube on your phone, so every time you want to take pictures, the radio stops and has to be reloaded. After about 20 minutes of that, we switched to a music app so we could enjoy nonstop Christmas music. As for the lights, there were some creative and cute themes. But the crazy number of ad displays was completely overwhelming. Sponsor lights for plumbers, lawyers, restaurants, fast food chains, orthodontists, hospitals, a psychiatric clinic and more were mixed right in with the themed displays. The amount of ads felt excessive and really took away from the magic. I understand the need for sponsors, but the ads in the booklet they hand out to every car would have been more than enough. At the end of the ride there is a living nativity scene. It was interesting to say the least. Not at all what I was expecting, but I give them kudos for putting something together. Oh last thing... I have to give a huge shoutout to the staff members. They were all friendly, welcoming, and informative. Their great service was refreshing and honestly one of the highlights of the night. Overall, our party of five enjoyed the variety of lights along the three mile stretch, but the long waits, line issues, lukewarm drinks, and overwhelming amount of ads along the way really spoiled the experience for us. It's a magical experience, then you turn your head to see an ad sign for a Plumbing company. If they really want to include Ad lights, they should put all ads at the front or end of the ride, that way it doesn't take away from the magic. Tip: Make sure you have a full tank of gas, empty bladders for the kids, and some fun activities or games to entertain your group before you get in line. If you visit on a weekend, you are almost guaranteed to wait at least an hour. read more

I've been to a few car driving Christmas lights and this one falls flat compared to the many I've been too. First, there is no music so it's a bit awkward having to play your own tunes instead of radioing into something they coordinated. The lights themselves are cool but without music it was just a bit plain and boring. We ended up getting a Groupon deal for $31 which came with 4 drinks (hot chocolate/ hot cider) which was nice. I'd recommend maybe if you have kids but otherwise it's nothing too spectacular. Note - Coming after 7-8pm may lead to a 1+ hour wait. I arrived at 6 and waited maybe 30-45 minute to start the track which took another 45 minutes. read more

I enjoyed Glittering Lights 2.5 miles of lights. Now we went 12.31.25 and enjoyed the lights/displays and most importantly NO line or crowds. Advantages of Visiting on New Years Eve eliminates the stress of long lines and impatience. Now if you happen to come out and visit to appreciate all the hard work that went into putting this great Christmas theme together I will tell you when they give you your receipt card to put on your dash make sure you scan the code this will sync you to the Christmas radio station just FYI. We have been wanting to go see the lights for a few years now and finally had a chance to do it. This is a fun holiday event to attend where you can drive and look at a variety of beautiful lights that are set up around the Las Vegas Motor Speedway (you end up driving around the entire outside perimeter of the racetrack which is quite large). The nice thing it is one price for the entire carload, and you can bring your pets. They also have a few special evening where teachers, military and veterans get in free of charge with ID. The also sell snacks and drinks for a reasonable price at the beginning of the drive. Overall, we had a nice time looking at the lights and listening to the Christmas music. read more

We took the tram and got to enjoy hot coco or cider with the best kettle corn. They even offered refills on the drinks! Went here for the first time last month and it was great. They charge by the car so you can stuff as many ppl in there as you want, lol. It was $39, and took us about 30-45 to drive through. This was the most beautiful Christmas light attraction I've ever seen. At the entrance you can purchase coco & popcorn. They tell you to turn off your headlights, then you start your self guided tour. It's on the speedway so pay attention to the winding road. You go at a very slow pace to take in the beautiful scenes, there are cars in front & behind you. You can stop briefly and take pics & video. We will definitely go again. read more

I've been wanting to check out this experience for many years & finally got to in Dec. 2024. I had read on Groupon that on the date I was going it was best to either go when they first open or closer to closing time due to long waits. We got there a little before 8pm. Not sure what time cars can't get in line because I couldn't find it posted anywhere. There was a line when we got there but we couldn't see the start of it & there was a worker telling us which line to get in based on what admission we were buying (GA). I had asked "how long is the wait?" and he said "2.5 hrs." My friend & I were like "what the heck?" to each other but the line was actually moving so I thought "maybe its really not 2.5 hrs?" Well guess what?!?!?!? He was right!! It took us that long to get to the entrance line. Then it took about 40 minutes to drive thru it, so we spent a lot of time here.....lol I like how they have port-a-potties along the way because they came in handy but man the one I popped in was so nasty. People are gross when they just want to throw stuff around inside of there, they do have trash cans outside that people can throw baby diapers in or whatever else they want so staff doesn't do a great job in keeping them clean from stuff all over the floor or next to the toilet seat. Once you get to the line to pay & purchase snacks there are "real" bathrooms which were so much nicer. You do have time to run over to one quickly due to the line hardly moving once your up at the front. Staff up front were nice. There was someone giving away 3 different jars of Taco Bell dips which was nice but when I got home & looked @ what they were they weren't anything I wanted to try. We also got a scratch ticket & I won a FREE medium size one topping pizza from Marco's. They also have some hot chocolate & popcorn for sale. We didn't purchase any snacks. The line once you were inside the lights did move nicely. There was a lot of advertisements for local business's which was kinda obnoxious. They did have some cute displays but unfortunately this event is a ONE & DONE for me. Going once is enough & I won't/need to come back again. I am glad that I finally got to experience it after all these years of wanting to go. I do suggest don't go close to Christmas or when they say wait times are longer on listed dates unless your OK with spending several hours there. I got in this line today 12/13/25 at 7:30pm and currently it's 9:13 and as I sit in this lane, I have been passed by the left lane of cars and right side of cars probably a 100 cars . Whoever is directing traffic at the end of this lane to enter is doing a terrible job. Oh and they opened two more lanes to the far right . And trying to get out of this lane just to go home and forget this whole thing is impossible . There's only one lane to the furthest left and in which you can't get in to because there's not a lot of space . Don't waste your money here, go spend it somewhere else read more

Had a great time at the Glittering Lights! We had a fast pass so we were able to jump ahead of everyone which was nice! We also packed snacks (popcorn and brownies) for the ride and that saved us a lot of time as well! The snacks that were available was affordable (about $5each) if you decide you just want to get something there but you will have to jump into a different line and without a fast pass that will greatly increase your waiting time. The light show overall was cool definitely great for kids. We didn't listen to the designated radio station, so not sure how that was. I suggest just playing a playlist off your phone so you can take pics and videos. read more

Remember 'A Christmas Story' when Ralphie finally gets his much anticipated decoder ring? He races to the bathroom to decipher a message just for him... but sadly, it was just an advertisement. 'Glittering Lights ' was like that. An hour and a half to get in ( understandable yet annoying) and it's one big display of sponsor advertising. If you have a car full of little ones hemped up sugar, it may be fun?? I'd say save the $40, have a few thermoses of cider and chocolate, and find some neighborhood lights that are much more creative. We've gone to Glittering Lights every year for the past few years and have always driven through in our own car. This year we decided to splurge and try the Santa Tram. Overall, it was a fun with a few caveats. We had a bit of a wait for the tram to load, about 20 minutes past our reservation time, so that's something to be aware of if you're on a tight schedule. The walk-around area while waiting was actually pretty nice, though, with lots of photo opportunities, and Santa himself was great and very engaging. One small tip for anyone booking the tram: seating really matters. If you're seated facing backwards, it's hard to see much of the light display. If possible, I'd recommend sitting forward-facing, even if it means waiting for the next tram. The bounce house and slide setup was a little underwhelming, but the fire pit area with rocking chairs was a nice touch and a cozy place to sit and relax. Overall, we still enjoyed the experience and would go again, but we will skip the Santa Tram & definitely stick to riding through in our own vehicle. read more

So disappointed in the way that this business is handling their own mistake. Their " Veteran's Appreciation Night" has been advertised to be open to Veterans and Active duty, or in their own postings on social media "veterans and military with valid ID". Safe to assume that " and military" includes active duty as well right? To go even further, I will add photos from their own website that clearly states "This special evening honors veterans and active-duty military with FREE entry to Nevada's premier Christmas light show." Knowing all of this information, can someone explain to me why several active duty family members were turned away at the entrance on Veterans Day 11/11/2024? Only after waiting in line for so long, no information posted anywhere on the premises that it was a veterans only night. Finally pulling up to the front to be told sorry it's only for veterans today? Confusion, that's not what your website or social media accounts say. While I appreciate that the offer of free entry is even available to military families, I am extremely disappointed that the entire team of this business were not on the same page with information and couldn't find a better way to tell us this before we made the whole trip over. There were other families expressing their disappointment and some who said they had no issues getting in when showing their active duty ID? Nobody is on the same page, clearly. To make matters worse, Glittering lights started to respond to everyone leaving comments the next day with the same copy and paste generic message. If you like Christmas lights, this is your go to. You tune your radio or phone to HoHo Radio and drive through the display. The route winds around Las Vegas Motor Speedway going under and around the grandstands and around the sides and by motor home hill. Over 5 million lights give you something to see and enjoy. Favorites are the displays under the grandstands and the light tunnels on the back side of the track. Have driven my cars, a golf cart and one of the trams through the display and see something new almost every trip. It is very organized and well run. Snacks are available at the entrance. I thought I reviewed this years ago. I think this is a different listing. However, I will say that this has been a family tradition with me and Mom for the past 10 years or so. We really do love it a lot. The deal you get with Groupon cannot be beat, as you receive four free hot cocoas to enjoy during your drive. Also a treat when it is just two of you, so that's two cocoas each! lol! The lights are always beautiful and a treat. The customer service from the volunteers who work here is top notch. You can tell that they really like being here. The only downside is the drive to get here, depending where you live. I live in Henderson, so it is quite the hike! But the experience is definitely worth it and I will never miss a visit. The path appeared to be a little different this year, but that was fine with me. And they try and change the lights up a bit so it isn't exactly the same as the year prior. Put this on your holiday list. I visited way back in the day when it was at Sunset Park and it is WAY better than it was back then. And I also love the live performance at the end of the drive, but those are only on specific nights. read more

We've been wanting to go to Glittering Lights for several years now but just haven't been able to, so we were all super excited to make it happen this year!. I bought tickets online and we loaded up our car and went for some holiday fun and cheer. We got there at about 5:45 on Monday the 16th, a bit confusing on where to go but we found the entrance and had a very short wait. As we were told to go ahead and enter, there was a car ahead of us with flashers on so we waited behind. The only person with a vest and wand was not directing traffic and just walking around. Several cars went around and I finally got the guy's attention as he was walking away and asked if I could go. He said "yea man go ahead" and continued to walk away. Meanwhile cars were just driving around and there was no guidance. Once we entered the initial area was quite nice with lots of lights and great theme with the Grinch. We did notice right away that there was so many advertisements for businesses. As we continued through the drive, the themes were odd and off the holiday and Christmas spirit we were expecting. There were dinosaurs and many other off topic displays like fairy tail and other non Christmas or holiday themes. The advertisements were prevalent and really overshadowed everything else. Every couple of displays there were several ads for lawyers, restaurants, casinos and more. Even our kids asked why so much of that. And only a couple even said happy holidays from...so and so. Sure they raise money for charity, but it's way too much and takes away from the reason we go. The overall lights were nice, but most displays had us guessing what they were supposed to be and lacking detail and clarity. The other note is that the music was not coordinated with your drive. We were told to tune in to Sunny 106.5 which plays Christmas music but they always do so nothing special there either. We've been to several of these drive throughs and this has been the most disappointing, especially with all the hype. I think there is a fantastic opportunity here, especially with the location and amount of area they have to work with, but they really miss the mark here. When sponsorship is more important than the spirit and experience then something is wrong. If you really need the advertising then how about put them all at the end with a special thanks to them all. I see most responses they focus on how much they donate, and how sponsors help. I'd gladly pay a bit more if their donation efforts were more prevalent and they upgraded their displays and experience. Get rid of all the ridiculous ads. I recommend they take a look at the quality of the experience and focus on the true Christmas spirit. Until then, we will not return or recommend. As you get closer to the actual glittering lights entrance you'll see hot coco, popcorn vendors, holiday swag. All of which you can order from your car. Colorful glittering light displays for the holidays! This is my family's holiday tradition, we all get into our cozy PJ's and head on over to the Speedway for this spectacular viewing. Complete with Christmas music on the radio, delicious kettle corn, and hot cocoa as an option from the Boy Scouts upon entry, make this all the more enjoyable. There are displays that include Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, candy canes, Welcome to Las Vegas sign, Golden Knights, holiday phrases, Christmas decor, and so much more from a variety of vendors around town. I highly suggest going as early as possible, on a weekday, or at the end of November for a quick entry because the line for the entrance can be a long. This year we went around 7:30 and waited in the line of cars for almost an hour to enter. But a couple of years ago we waited almost 2 hours which made the whole experience not so enjoyable. So try your best not going during extra busy peak times for the ultimate experience. They also have a Santa Tram option and fast pass line which we have not used but are available as well. I go check this out every year because I love seeing the Christmas festivities and that proceeds go to the Las Vegas Childrens charities. The reason for my 3 star review is I feel the price has gone up a lot on this event for seeing the same thing every year. Paying almost $40 a car now seems like a lot for only a few miles of lights. I register for the 5 k through these lights almost yearly because I feel like it's a great way to truly enjoy them. I wish they did a few more events like this that let you walk through the lights, take your time, and get to see them at your own pace. This is our second year coming here and we brought the pups with us this time. It took 3.5 hours to get into the facility, the lines were INSANE. That being said they do have more lights compared to last year as well as a new option for fast pass. We will 100% be doing fast pass next year. read more

At about 1-5 MPH, it took us around 20 minutes to drive the whole thing. Im talking over 90 minutes of crawling along like watching a turtle race on hash. It's been several years since I drove through the Glittering Lights at the Motor Speedway and glad we did it! We came on Thursday night about 6pm and the line was very short and we were in within 15 minutes which was a big change from last time where we waited for over an hour to get in. The lights are beautiful and we tuned into the streaming feed as we drove through and it had Christmas music along with trivia. I really enjoyed this drive thru event. It was well organized. When we got there, at the entrance, there were girls coming by very cheerful, and brought us hot chocolate. It came with our Groupon. This was super cute and super fun to do during the Holidays! Happens every year at the Speedway north of Vegas. You get hot cocoa in your car and drive through the amazing Christmas lights while listening to Christmas music. They did a really great job and it was nice and long! It would be cool if the music synced up to the lights somehow while driving through. The people at the gate were super nice and be sure to bring some tip money for the Boy Scouts who are helping out!
