Headed out to Global Foods, where the selection is better and the staff are attentive and helpful. It would worry me if the franchise was mine. As I left the staff/manager finished up his conversation with someone who obviously wasn't shopping. With the world going to delivery, I would invest in better customer service habits.

Regardless, I am happy to come here for all of my cats' daily needs from litter boxes, litter, to snacks and sometimes canned goods. The staff members are nice and it's always nice to come instore to brows here and there just to indulge in all the cute things

I was baited to come in here because I was surprised to see a cat in a store on Yonge St. I peered inside and decided to take a peek (while also discreetly petting the kitty inside). It's quite spacious on the inside and very clean. The kitten ended up being the owner's 9 month old British shorthair that was wandering around the store. It was interacting with everything on display, which is pretty much really good advertising for any pet store. I ended up getting a shark toy on a whim - apparently it had a smell that cats were attracted to and the sounds generated from the texture is one that they adore. I saw that the cat walking around also really loved it, so I decided to buy one for my friend's cat. She also gave me a free sample of Japanese cat treats. This was seriously an amazing store. My friend reported back that her cat loves the new shark toy. When she got back home, her cat, Nyla, snatched it out of the bag it was in and began playing with it. We will continue to buy our pet supplies here!

Immediately I noticed that it is dog-friendly with a few small dogs. I was drawn to the huge freezer along the left wall at the entrance of the store. They have a lot of fresh meals prepared for pooches there. There were raw packaged meals, fully-cooked frozen meals, bone broths, frozen eggs, and lightly processed meats. There is a brand called Tom & Sawyer that has really fancy meals made from human-edible ingredients. I picked up a couple packages - one that is kangaroo meat and the other that is a rosemary venison. I also saw flavours that were seafood based and a coconut chicken! They are a little bit pricey though at $10-12 a package. Per the portion size instructions, a 30 pound dog would need 1.25 packages a day! The staff there were pretty nice. The top shelf of the freezer too tall for little ol' me so I had to ask someone for help. They were happy to oblige and then helped me check out as well. I was asked about whether I wanted to sign up for their newsletter and was told I would receive a coupon via email sometime later. I'm hoping I star to see more of these stores around the city.

I called their support and she tried to tell me their policy is that when you accumlate a free, you have to redeem it at the next purchase and you cant decline to accumlate them. And the staff there are trained to tell customers that. This is the first time in 10 years of going to rens that I have heard this. They say its always been their policy and staff are told to do this. I kept telling her you have a problem with your training then as I have been to many Rens in different locations and non have told me this. They always ask if I want to redeem. not that I have to redeem. I told here then you are not training your staff and she said she will get a supervisor to call me and hung up. But she saw dogs falling off grooming tables and was so traumatized she refused to go back. Yes she reported this to the authorities and hopefully they will be more careful. She also said witnessed a dog jumping out of the groomers Tub. The man that works there as a bather doesn't care as he is an international student whom has no training in pet care. He had an option to gently restrain the dog but chose not to. There are two females whom are full time here. One is Angelica the other is Jenny. Neither one has been to a grooming school!!! There woman make between $500 to $1000 per day as and if you do NOT tip them they will call you cheap. If you do tip well Angelica she will place you in the company, computer file as HER CLIENT wether you specify or NOT.

Even if it is a pure breed, there are so many animals in shelters looking for homes. I recommend anyone interested in getting a pet to visit a shelter or a store (like Pet Smart) that partners with pet rescues & adopt instead of buying. The fact that he's well behaved, healthy and has never shown any signs of a puppy mill is excellent and made me believe in "pet stores" if only for a fleeting second. I will say that I'm not a fan of their other locations - specifically the Square One location...the dogs are to many in a window. When I got Finn he had his one cage/window and the staff was very good with him, and his area was very clean. The staff seem to care a lot about the animals there and they did a check on me and I had to fill out forms to make sure I was a suitable owner, and they were extra vigilant because it was around Christmas. They also mentioned that they refuse to sell or even carry black cats around Halloween and bunnies around easter to assure that the animals are going into the right homes. When I was ready to take Finn home, they gave him a bath and put a free dose of revolution on him. They also helped me pick out the correct crate for his training and threw in some items I would need. He still has his first toy from there - albeit it's beaten up - as that was 3 years ago. As bad as this is going to sound, Finn also came with a "warranty", but it covered any health problem he was born with or anything that he picked up in their care. He also came with a record of his shots and such. I will admit, that warranty came in handy since he was born with a cherry eye that needed surgery and he had picked up a parasite as well as dog lice....yes, he had some health issue, but nothing life threatening, more just annoying. I'm not going to suggest you buy your pet here, or from any pet store....but I will say that pet store animals need good homes too. If you do decided to get your pet from a pet store, this is the one I would go to. On top of selling great animals - they have pictures of all of their animals they have put into good homes around the puppy area as well as at the front cash area - they sell great food, as well as all the supplies you will need.
