The first hour was okay, massage wise (minus the excessive stroking down my back and butt), and she convinced me to do another 30 minutes. That's where is went strange. She was massaging my legs while constantly looking for different spa music on her phone. She would find Chinese music while going over and over on the same leg and then find something she liked and watch whatever it was on her phone screen. Huh?? At one point, she glanced over to see if I saw her. The music was orchestra like and not relaxing and then singing in Chinese. At this point, I wanted to get off the table early and check out of there. She never finished the full body massage because she was so distracted with her phone. I've never experienced anything like it. When I went to pay, she tried to tack on another $4 for something I couldn't understand and I refused 3 times to which she could see I wasn't budging. I'm mad at myself for leaving a tip for what was weird and not relaxing. And much of it hurt because I could tell she didn't have good technique and rhythm (I've had many a deep tissue massage in my day and nothing has ever hurt like this one.). She's can't speak intelligible English (or acts like she can't), so I hoped that almost everything she mumbled the whole time, which was a lot, was for my good. They called, set up the appointment and explained in advance when they set up the appointment that I would be redeeming it. She said no problem, and just verify with their phone number. Next I proceed to the 3:00 appointment, and when I walk in she said she put down 3:30, and would I wait. Not great, but ok. I get to my room and wait. She then comes in and says the massage is $100, I explain the situation and show the receipt and she refuses to accept it or any form of credit. After arguing with me for a good 5 minutes I agree to pay her myself. We proceed with the massage and during, not once, but TWICE she LEAVES the massage to go talk to walk in clients. This entire time I'm contemplating what to tip. I always tip, usually 20% when I really enjoy it. In this case although I'm displease with everything, I decide on 10%. I go to pay fill out the receipt and she takes it and looks at it and scoffs then gasps and says "ugh you're costing me money!" Honestly I was so stunned I didn't have any words. Please be cautious if you buy a gift for someone. We lost out on that gift massage, and just poor professionalism. Keep your appointments, honor your massages, avoid interruptions, be grateful for tips. This is not cheap experience.

The business address dropped me into a strip mall with a simple sign that said "massage" and no specific naming. I opened the door to a rousing chiming of multiple bells on the door, looked left and saw a sewing machine ready for action. Hmm...is this the right place? I faint voice called from the back saying ..."you here for the 11 o'clock? Why you not ask for one hour? Only half hour not a lot of time." I apologized as I didn't know how booked she may be, and calling the morning of, often you take what you can get. She guided me into a room decorated on light pink motif and I happened to notice steel pipes hanging from the ceiling forming a "rack" over the massage table...yep this was no spa treatment... I quickly disrobed and got comfortable under my thin massage sheet and waited for Miss Julie to enter. I quickly reviewed my issues with my tight hips, glutes and back. I happened to look over to the table next to me at what could be described as a masochist kit at best. There were blades, knobs and clubs all ready to go. Oh lord.... I laid face down and I could sense Julie climbing up and grabbing the steel poles above the table and starting to use pressure of her toes and heels to work free tension across most all of my body. It felt amazing. So far so good. Often she would find extra tension points, which would cause her to go into her kit and grab a blade and begin scraping out the striations of tissue on tissue to get separation. It looked like the next appointment wasn't showing so I was able to bonus an extra 30 minutes. Julie continued to seek out tension areas and attacked them like a predator after prey. I completed my massage feeling 100 times better than when I walked in and pledged to Julie that I would be back next week. It's not much to look at walking up, and is NOT a relaxation spa experience, but if you need deep tissue massage and want someone to work you over good, Julie is your gal!
