I've been coming here for years now every time I needed some foreign currency for travel. Before…read morehere, I just went to my bank and asked to convert my money. After some rate comparison between the two, I found Globex had a better game on two different occasions so I said adios to the gigantic money machines (banks) and started coming here since after. Situated inside Galeries Laval mall, all you need to do is open up an account at any of their 6 branches and which takes a few minutes at the wicket, then you're good to go. What sets them apart is their rate guarantee buyback of half of your purchased amount. Say you bought $500 of any foreign currency there and didn't blow it all at your stay and which you don't want to keep after you're back home .... You can return up to $250 with your original receipt and get your CDN money back with the same exact rate you originally purchased for. If the rate had gone up, you won't lose, if down, they'll give the best rate of the day. Now I'm not a financial wizard or anything nor a business owner who buys foreign currencies on regular basis and who usually had done his homework of finding the best rates so really can't speak for everyone. This review is more for individuals who are in need for small amounts of currency which this place provides with good rates and much better convenient hours than the banks. The owner is also very nice and welcoming. I have never had poor customer service over there, and even recommended the place to my other friends. Just look at the reviews of the other place they own and see (its called Bureau de Change Super and is across the street). I am actually very perplexed by the other reviewer's comment, which shows he has never been to the place. Actually the place has only recently opened and was registered in 2021 (whereas his comment is from 2019 when the place was probably not even opened yet). A competitor trying to disparage a new place by leaving 1 star reviews? We dont know. Regardless, I suggest you see for yourself.

I went to this branch a few months ago in order to speak with a TD Investment Manager who spoke the…read moresame language as my mom in order to explain things to her so I wouldn't have to translate. This branch was one of the TD Canada Trust branches which had an Investment Manager who spoke the same language as my mom but I picked this location because my mom has some mobility issues so I would be driving to the bank branch as opposed to taking public transit (bus metro). For the most part this TD Canada Trust is like most TD Canada Trust branches. I didn't have any issues at this branch. They had their TD ATM machines which were functional and they had free WiFi at the branch. The one thing about this branch which is very unusual for any bank branch in a downtown location is that this branch has free outdoor parking for their clients while they are in the branch. All other banks downtown regardless of the branch either have pay parking or you need to find parking on the street. The only thing with the free parking is that they have someone monitoring the parking so if you have a long or longer meeting, you might want to speak with the attendant prior to going into the bank branch since my meeting at the bank branch was for close to an hour and when I exited the bank branch with my mom, the attendant informed me that the parking was only for TD clients at the branch. He told me that my car was parked for over an hour and to use one of the ATM machines or speak with a teller would take a maximum of 7-10 minutes assuming waiting and to speak with a TD Investment Manager would likely take less than 30 minutes. I mentioned that I was at the TD branch and he then told me that I was parked for over or close to an hour there. I then told him that he could accompany me to the branch and the TD Investment Manager can confirm that I was with her for about an hour. He asked me for the name of the TD Investment Manager whom I had a meeting with and I mentioned her name and said I didn't have an issue with us going into the branch for her to confirm that I was there with my mom for over an hour with her. He said it was fine. Unfortunately the TD Investment/Account Manager that I dealt with no longer works for TD Canada Trust but she managed to help my mom and myself out prior to her leaving. If you need to visit a TD Canada Trust branch downtown and you're driving, this is the branch to go to in my opinion because of the free parking. If taking public transit to get downtown, while this branch is located within maybe a 10 minute walk from a metro station (St-Laurent) on the green line (or you can take the bus 55 from the St-Laurent metro station instead of walking for 10 minutes), there are other more convenient TD Canada Trust branches downtown which are connected to Montreal's underground city so you don't need to go outside from the metro station (one within the McGill metro underground area, one within the Bonaventure metro area near Central Station underground area).

The staff has proven efficient, helpful, and generally more knowledgeable than their counterparts at other branches. Indeed, they've helped my solve problems that other branches either couldn't or created to begin with. If you bank with TD, would certainly recommend this location. If you're considering banking with TD, I'd recommend opening your account at this particular branch.
