I was surprised to find Gloria Jean's Coffee here in the Philippines! I always thought of it as more of a regional player back in the States. This particular branch has lots of seating and is well-lit. It is very open to the rest of the mall though given it's all-glass exterior so be prepared to be ogled by those around the mall.
Prices for both coffee and pastries are about 10 pesos cheaper than you'd expect from Starbucks and CBTL. I got the large iced Americano and it wasn't that bad. The coffee wasn't over-roasted and the 3 espresso shots definitely did their job. I just wish that the staff put a little more ice in it.
I also got their apple crumble pastry (P95) and it was great! They offered to warm it and it was a great, chewy, satisfying treat. The portion size was great for the price and it paired well with the Americano.
Marketing and ambiance feels a little cheap and the music seemed to be off of someone's playlist...it went from early 2000s punk rock to Juju on that Beat pretty quickly...lol. Staff was nice and super laidback. I'd come back if I was in the area. The place is good for studying too. read more
