With the Coronavirus changing life as we know it, there have been positives that have emerged. Some big, some little. I will have to be honest- I had never heard of Glory House. Working through this epidemic has been a whirlwind, especially in the healthcare setting. Long hours, face mask rash, sleepless nights, and gallons of lotion due to continuous hand washing. It can be hard to keep a positive outlook. Healthcare Week was so needed! Lo and behold, Glory House stepped in to thank us by providing free lunches! And let me tell you, those of us who don't eat meat were so appreciative that a veg option was offered! The veg lunchbox included a veggie burger sandwich, chips, fresh fruit and water. While unpacking the food, there it was at the bottom... the clouds parted and I spotted the 7 Layer Bar. OMG- that decadent ooey-gooey deliciousness I haven't had in years! We came here for a wedding for a good friend of mine . This place is located in what appears to be the downtown Irving area. There's parking out front and across the street near the train station. This is a pretty spacious venue that could accommodate at least 50 guests . The spread of food consisted of potatoes, rolls, small salad, chicken and a wedding cake. There was an open bar for all the attendees and a DJ. Staff was professional and did their best to attend to cleaning and customer service. Nice place to consider when hosting an event. read more

My fiance and I recently held our wedding reception here after deciding last minute to ditch our destination wedding plans due to covid. Spectacular job on my Halloween Party! Easy to work with, great ideas for spooky food (Toxic Mac and cheese, it was green, monster head cheese ball, purple cornbread). The staff who showed up were very friendly, professional and helpful. They setup, served, bussed, packed up all the leftovers, and cleaned up their space. And the food was served hot! To everyone! After passing by numerous times, I finally decided to stop by Glory House for lunch and it delivered! The inside looks newly renovated and the set up is great. All the food is in chafing dishes or in a salad bar set up. For $14 you get an all you can eat buffet which includes a salad and baked potato bar with all the toppings and a variety of soups and sides. The menu changes daily, which they post to yelp. The main course choices during my visit were meat and vegetable lasagna and roasted chicken (white and dark meat). The sautéed green beans and cauliflower and broccoli mix were delicious as well. I would advise coming here with an appetite. It says all you can eat but I couldn't make it past one plate and the salad. All of the food tasted freshly prepared and it is a excellent value for the money. The staff were all very nice and attentive to clearing our table. They also offer desserts but we were way too full to try, maybe next time. If you are looking for something different, delicious, and at a good price, try Glory House. As a millennial, this was a very strange experience for me. Glory house bistro is more of a hotel breakfast buffet than a bistro. The food is as you would expect from breakfast being served on warmers...average. The place was nearly empty and the tea was sweet enough to give you diabetes. What really stuck out to me about this place was the cheap Kirkland decor, bare floors and tables, abba and Phil Collins music and the group of baby boomers at another table. The group of overweight women were trying to sell each other homemade jewelry, crafts, etc. I started to have an existential crisis in the middle of my breakfast. I will never come back to this place, nor will I recommend it to anyone under the age of 60 if anyone were to ask me about it. But I can't complain too much, the server was very nice. read more

Two entrees, two veggies, salad bar, two soups, some sort of dip all you can eat for $9.99. And these aren't your normal entrees. I had the Chicken Cordon Blue Lasagna. Imagine chicken and ham in a light cream sauce with cheese and pasta stacked in a pan. Drooling yet? They also had shrimp linguine. The salad isn't just some green stuff with a side of tomatoes and garbanzo beans like at Cici's. They have pea salad, chicken salad, pasta salad, three types of green salad and all the toppings. As far as atmosphere goes, you're in a catering hall set up. It's like a wedding reception at a hotel. But with it being a self-serve set up, I can get in and out before my lunch break is over. The lunch area is next to the big event room and I can see how this would be a nice venue for receptions or parties. You can have the salad bar/soup or the full buffet. Pretty good prices for what you get. I absolutely loved the Tomato Basil soup - the owner said they have it every day in addition to an alternating soup of the day. I would go back and get bowls full of just that!! It's creamy and smooth and wonderful. The salad bar was well-stocked with fresh ingredients and a lot of options for toppings and dressings. They give you two choices of entrees (different everyday - menu online) and on the day we dropped by, they had chicken fajitas and sauteed pork roast. Fresh corn and flour tortillas, beans, rice and all the fixings. The wait staff was polite and attentive. We really enjoyed this lunch and would go back any time. They're open weekdays from 11am-2pm.
