This is a super friendly salon which is always busy yet the staff always seem to manage to fit you in for a treatment if you happen to walk in on the off chance. But I found the great reviews of Split Endz just down my street and decided to give it a try. Lucky for me I did - they are FANTASTIC. Salons all over London are rife with bad attitude and stylists that either refuse to listen or don't want to take the time to get it right...this is the exact opposite of Split Endz. They are warm and friendly; even though the salon is almost always busy, each stylist takes the time to get your cut and finished style absolutely right; and the cost of their treatment is very reasonable. They are also open at very convenient times, with two late nights a week rather than just one! In my case, I like to color my hair deepest blue-black. Sounds easy, right? Unfortunately, getting someone to mix the right deep blue-black, with no red in it, that actually stays blue-black has been a challenge since I moved to London...so far, the only one that's gotten the mix right has been Split Endz. I ALSO have a ton of hair which normally requires two appointments to cut - but they never gripe, and never rush. My only, tiny observation is that because they are so busy and popular, they have sometimes run late on my appointments during the weekend. But it's really not a big deal when it happens; t's a good sign that they have so many clients - and they are always extremely apologetic, and keep you regularly informed. Their salon is so relaxed and the people are so nice that even if I do have to wait a bit longer, I'm happy to stay for the results. Forget the attitudinal nightmares in Central London or Shoreditch - hop on the Overground and try this one out. You won't be sorry.

Despite being a (slightly generous) five-ish minute walk from Victoria Station, it's in the region of £20 for a wash and cut! And wash, cut and blow-dry is still under 40 quid.
