I just bought $3k worth of trees & bushes. I used two different sales reps/customer service whatever you want to call them. The first, a lady in her 50s, was absolutely great. Pleasant, extremely helpful, educated me but in a non-condescending way. She explained everything regarding their warranty + additional 5 if you used their fungus rub. The second was an older guy, very curt and not a people person at all. But got the job done for me. I deal with these kinds of folks all the time, so it wasn't a negative. I could definitely see some people thinking he is a real jerk if you need the bubbly, gregarious type. Overall, fantastic place to shop, great selection, easy to find things, knowledgeable staff. Glover Nursery has a great selection of locally grown plants. We recently purchased a lot of plants for our garden and a variety of scrubs and flowers for our yard. The plants are thriving and I'm looking forward to seeing them grow. Our garden is going to yield some great produce this year and the flowers are really going to enhance the beauty of our yard. The staff at Glover is friendly and they're happy to help you select the right plants for your yard or garden. Prices are probably twice as expensive as what you'll find at Home Depot or Lowe's. But I think it's important to support local businesses and most of Glover's plants are grown locally, right herein Utah, so they are better suited for our climate. read more

Trees and landscaping supplies are pricey here, in fact everything here is on the high side. They have a lot of the more common annuals, perennials and shrubs. They have a better selection of desert garden, pond and native plants. I go elsewhere (usually Wasatch Shadows) for more exotic plants and ground covers. But I do hit up Glover for pond plants occasionally. They run sales but too often they're just a small percentage off. And they rarely clearance unless it's late season annuals. Grounds are well organized, display ponds are beautiful and offer great ideas, but too often it's hard to find workers for help or questions. Plant guarantees are weak here. And the family tends to prefer and treat better local regulars over strangers. But it's a nice place to kill time. read more

I love this Nursery I have been coming here for years! The staff is friendly, knowledgable, and they always answer all of my questions. I love walking around and getting inspiration for my yard. My trees and flowers are beautiful and healthy. Not to mention my vegetables, fruit, and herbs are plentiful and hearty. My nieces loved their koi ponds and always ask to go see the fish. My favorite is the rose section! Not to mention they sell great Christmas trees and one of our favorite traditions is to get hot chocolate and go pick out our tree every December! read more

Huge place with plants everywhere, so be prepared to walk, and drag a clunky wagon around to find your landscape need. Watch out because the sales staff are on commission, and if they feel you are not moving quick in your decision or looking to save a little instead of spending $5K+ they'll ditch out for the next customer. I have found the best way to proceed to is to look through online sites and recommendations, as well as look around your own neighborhood for trees, bushes, and plants you like, and THEN go in and ask if they can help you identify the picture on your phone. They can then direct you where to go. The older the tree the more you will pay - and like I said, these guys are super expensive. Look for something a little younger, and you'll save thousands on your purchase and most likely have a great looking plant very quickly. I give 3-stars (and less) because they generally have what you are looking for, and if you want something to stand out in the yard versus getting what all the neighbors have from the local hardware store, then check these guys out. They do have a "warranty" on plants (if you use their root starter), but you have to dig it up, and physically bring it back in to get it replaced. Each time they have NOT had the same plant, so I've had to make other decisions. Overall, their stuff dies just like anywhere, so don't get your hopes up too much. read more

I go to Arbor Day Nursery for trees, but I go to Glover Nursery for everything else, though Glover probably has good trees too. This place is HUGE, and the selection is great! Herbs, Perennials, annuals, soil, compost, etc! I enjoy going to Glover and always find great plants. Recently I went to find the perfect flower to plant over the grave of my friend's dog who died. I had specific criteria: grows in zones 5-6, Perennial, Pink, has flowers now, special in some way, etc. I was a bit emotional because the doggy funeral was going to be that evening, and I could tell I was a bit overwhelming for the kind staff member who was trying to help me find the right flower. But she simply got another staff member who knew the perennials better to assist me and we found the perfect one. It wasn't a big sale, but I really appreciated the extra help I received. We purchased many things here last year while doing a completely new landscape for the front yard --- all grass out and xeriscaped the whole yard. Many of the staff members are friendly and helpful ---- I had many questions over the course of visiting probably 2 dozen times last year. My one big concern is that even after I left a detailed note, no one from the nursery responded back to me on one issue. I had bark mulch delivered with lots of foreign objects including pieces of plastic, glass, and synthetic weed barrier fabric. I greatly dislike such fabric and was disturbed to have to find and pull such pieces out of the mulch. The product was far less than described, and I question if I will ever return given the lack of response to my concerns. read more

Very disappointed in their customer service and will never do business with this company again. We live in Eagle Mountain and have purchased items from this nursery for the past 10 years. We purchased several trees almost a year ago and decided to take our truck and trailer to get 10 more trees and 5 evergreens. One of the trees we purchased last June died so we brought our receipt as the warranty is that they will replace any trees that die the first year. In the past we have not had to bring our dead tree in. Last Saturday June 1, 2013 we drove to Glover Nursery with our truck and trailer to purchase the items we needed. We could not find a parking place and so we drove around and around for 30 minutes. Then a car on the end left and we parked there. It was in the middle entrance area about 6 inches over the line and not blocking the entrance or exit. After we parked a young man told us we could not park there. I got out of the truck and explained that we have been searching for a place to park for over 30 minutes. He pointed to the street and said park out there. Well there was wasn't a place to park period. I stated that we were not in the way and would like to do our business. He said okay but as we got out of the truck he went directly to an old man who was obviously over the monitoring of the parking area. As we walked up I stated that we were the people this young man was talking about and explained we were not in the way. The older man wasn't even out where he could see but stated that yes we were in the way and to move now. He was very rude and in our face. I explained that we had a tree die and we wanted to get a replacement. He said well then where is the tree. We stated we were told we didn't need to bring the dead one in and in the past ten years had several die that we had replaced and were told we didn't need to bring them in with us. At this point I was mad and said look just give me a few minutes to get my money back and we will be out of your way. He said I thought you were getting another tree. I stated that I didn't want another tree anymore I just wanted my money back and to get the hell off their property. He said oh good the lady inside has been here 5 years she will be glad to tell you our policy. We went into the nursery and spoke with the manager. Bottom line after a bit of a hassle we did get our replacement tree but opted not to get any of the other trees we came to purchase. They made it clear that they will not help you in anyway shape or form try to make the experience easy. Plain and simple they feel they are too big of a business to help customers. The message I got was spend your money here and then get the hell out and never come back. There was no apologies by the manager and we were treated very cold. Go ahead and do business with this company but I guarantee you eventually you will see the light. The year warranty isn't worth the hassle. I would rather drive up to Davis County from Eagle Mountain to do business with J & J Nursery. At least there I know there is plenty of parking for cars, trucks and trucks with trailers and I am going to be treated very well and enjoy the biggest nursery in Utah. read more

Ok, so here's the deal, I live in S.L.C. and have for many years traveled out to B.F.E. to this nursery because their selection is awesome. With that said, lets talk customer service, as a consumer I often like to support local businesses as much as possible but when small businesses, like Glover, refuse to back up their products and treat customers like crap, well honestly, it makes it much easier for me to shop at the big box stores. At least there i know the employees will be somewhat friendly and that they'll back up their products. read more

Needed another shade tree in the backyard before the winter hits. Have bought trees here before - and while they are not cheap, they are of excellent quality. Even better now that most everything is 20% off. What I like about Glover Nursery, is the expertise of the employees that work there, especially Jim. This guy is a wealth of knowledge. We live in West Jordan and have a very clay like soil. He knows just the right species of trees that will grown in that particular soil and can tell you everything about the trees and how to take care of them. One of our favorite nurseries. We buy a lot of plants and have purchased several trees. They staff is helpful, and their return policy is fair and reasonable. Their selection is for the most part top notch. I wish they and more natives and water wise plants. I bought $50 rose tree last year. I specifically asked about planting it in a container so I could put it in front of my house. The guy that was helping me said that was fine. I was hesitant to spend $50 for a small rose tree, but really like the way they look. The guy said that they have a year warranty so no worries. It seemed to survive winter, but half of it looked dead. So as the year was going to be up, I sent an email with pictures to Glover on their website...no response. Then I called and the recording says they don't answer the phone during May because they are too busy. I didn't want to dig the tree up in case it could be saved, so I stopped by the nursery to show them the pictures. The first employee said it looked like something they would take back and I would have to speak with Donna. Donna said it looked to be dead but asked if it was planted in a container. I said it was in a large planter pot. She shut it down and said they won't take it back since it was not planted in the ground. I understand that I didn't read the fine print. However, it would have helped if she at least told me if I could save it or how to treat it. All she could say was that she couldn't help since it wasn't planted in the ground. I will never go back to Glover Nursery again due to the poor customer service. UPDATE I appreciate the thoughtful response and offer of 50% off a new rose tree. I wasn't looking for refund or discount on a new tree. I just wanted to let you know of the service issues. I will keep this tree and try to nurse it back to health. Thank you read more

Bought a tree here that died, The guarantee is not worth anything. I wanted to just exchange for the same tree, however they won't do this. They give you a credit (on a card) and you have to repurchase the item (at a higher price) Plus anything you use the credit on is NOT guaranteed. I ended up buying stuff i did not need and purchasing a new tree at Home Depot, not only less money but guarantee is much better. 20 years I have purchased all our yard needs at this nursery, but I guess the chain wins out. We wanted to get a landscape consultation (not a full landscape design) because we do not have very green thumbs. It's an hourly thing and when the guy got here (30 minutes late) we showed him our yard and told him we are primarily just looking for ideas about what plants to buy and where to plant them and that we already have our landscaping idea which we shared with him. After 20 minutes walking around our yard with us he went into his truck and drew for an hour and a half a rough draft on one single page. I went and knocked on his door a few times to say, "Are you almost done?" and he would say, "We've got a lot going on here in this project." I'm not a mean enough person to say, "Okay then go, because we're not paying for you to sit in here for hours and draw us this picture. That's not what we asked for. We want to know what to plant!" For a rough drawing an hour and a half seems a bit much. His drawing was good and all and the advice was fine too but it really felt like he was milking it knowing he was on a very expensive clock by the minute past his first hour. After finishing drawing for an hour and a half he came in and explained his drawing for another 30 minutes. We primarily wanted plant advice and he didn't listen to our needs or primary want. His work was fine but we paid way more than we budgeted for. To add insult to injury he had promised us a phone call to give us a rough estimate of what it would take to buy the plants he recommended. He called...4 weeks later to say he was working on it. That's when I decided to write this. I'm sure the nursery is fine but I do not recommend their consultations. read more

I bought peat moss for 23 dollars at Glover Nursery and then found out I can get the same product for 12 dollars at Home Depot. This company is another greedy, selfish overpriced company. Wow, just found Glover Nursery, what a gem. The Nursery is very large and has a great selection of plants. Was greeted at the front gate by a nice kid, and that was just the beginning. Another employee inquired if I was finding everything I was looking for. I just wanted to browse. I went in looking for vegetables and what a great selection they have. Do NOT go to Glover Nursery if you want quality plants. We expected them to provide good customer service and viable plants. We talked to a very GRUMPY "expert" who told us the hibiscus plants looked dead but would growing by Father's Day. They never grew. Instead of replacing them or exhanging for live plants, we were told that they were the "type of plants" that they would not guarantee. I can see if I kill a plant, it's not the nursery's fault, but these were obviously dead plants to begin with. Why go to a nursery and pay nursery prices if they are selling dead plants? read more

Can I give zero stars? 2 weeks ago we purchased identical grasses and a grape plant . We have been going there for years, tomatoes plants of all types top soil, garden decor, I would probably venture to say like most in the area they get about 500/600 of my hard earned money per season. Not sure if that's high low or average, that being said when we made a smaller purchase a couple weeks ago the girl at the counter told us there is a one year warranty, she didn't specify just on the wooded item ( the grape) . One of the grasses died and I took up the time to dig it up and drive it down there thinking I needed s few other items anyway and I like to look around for ideas in the future . The gal at the counter was well not rude but pointed, asked me for my receipt which I didn't have looked me up in the computer and saw me and my purchase and of course my family's history as well... The grass was 4.99... I had 100 dollars worth of stuff on my cart... She told me that the guarantee was very clearly explained on the back that grasses aren't covered... I thought wow? I spend 500-600 bucks a year here and I'm spending another 100 right now? And your giving me this policy is the policy stuff? Your right ma'am the policy is the policy I've already told 3 of my friends that buy hundreds of tomatoes per year from them and they agree no more glover. Policy is policy and we all need to follow the rules I just wonder if Home Depot or Lowes or Costco would have given me a new one? I've been shopping at Glover's for years. It is the kind of business I am happy to support and have never had any problems like those described by other people on this page. Any time I've had issues with a plant, they have resolved it quickly and efficiently. Their staff is well versed in the area, they know what will and won't do well in my yard and my soil, and they have never made me feel obligated to purchase anything no matter how many times I visit or ask questions. I'm glad there is a place like this within relatively easy distance of my home. Their products are plentiful, diverse and top quality. The staff is knowledgeable, and their customer service is great. DO NOT shop at this nursery!! Extremely disappointed in this business!!! My daughter bought 2 perennial peony plants and gave them to me for Mother's Day. She was told they were guaranteed so she paid the over-priced amount for each thinking they were guaranteed. One of the plants did not grow, so she called asking again if this plant was guaranteed. She was told it was, with a receipt. We drove out and were very rudely told we were basically liars because no one in the store would have told us those plants were guaranteed. I buy pond plants every year. Our grandkids love the day we get thousands of ladybugs and put them in our fruit trees. Oh yes, and our fruit trees came from Glover as well. It looks like it is the same story as the other reviewer I wish I would of read his first before spending almost 4 thousand dollars. I traveled over 100 miles to buy from them. Purchased almost 4000 dollars worth of trees, shrubs and plants. When i Notified them that almost 40% of them did not survive especially all of the ones they import from Western Oregon (Utah climates is in no comparison to Oregon's). And after several contacts back and forth I was told they sold them to me wholesale and that there was no warranty on the plants. They are very deceitful for we were told the opposite when purchased and no where in the warranty on the back of the receipt does it mention any exclusions at all for wholesale or retail it states that all plant within the first year will be replaced free of charge. Is all I can say if you buy from them you better pray to someone that they will all grow for Glover is done with you once you have pulled out of the yard. read more
