After getting recommendations from various people, Dr. Watkins name just seemed to keep popping up. After scheduling an appointment with him, I knew he was the one. He was nice and really knows his stuff! My surgery experience went really well. The nurse staff was excellent. I had an issue with passing out after getting the IV (Eek! I hate needles!) so the second time around, they really took care of me. Only issues I had was at times the wait to see him for your appointment seemed to be a hit or miss, which is why I have it 4 stars. Either I would see him as soon as I walked in or it would take forever, like an hour or more. Actually, even for my 1st surgery, I had to wait. I was scheduled for 12:30 and wasn't taken in until almost 3 pm, which I think helped contribute to me passing out because I hadn't eaten for the last 15 or so hours. There was an old lady who needed to get a quick procedure done and they put her ahead of me, which I understand because my surgery was 2 hours, but they should have taken me in and gotten me settled first with the IV and all that (I think the nurse was going to do that, but the receptionist made her take the lady in first). Oh and surgeries are performed on Thursdays so I would avoid making appointments then because that's when he usually gets backed up. But other than that, I think him and his staff are great! Customer service is important to them. They even sent me a get well soon card after both surgeries. I thought that was really thoughtful that they care about their patients like that. I will definitely continue to go to Dr. Watkins for any podiatry needs and will recommend him to my friends, family, and anyone looking for a podiatrist.

Dr. Watkin's is the absolute most unethical Dr I have ever been to and had surgery with. One reason…read morewhy I chose him was because he was in my network wit BCBS. I had the highest payment monthly because I knew I was going to have surgery and wanted the lowest out of pocket co-pay. I had the surgery January 7th 2022 and he performed it at Harvard Medical which he owns at least a portion of and is in the same building as his office, which he owned in 2007. Well I now have a bill of almost $10,000 because his surgery center was not In Network which they did not tell me and I would have Never agreed to. In fact after speaking to Blue Cross today I found out that they just became in network March 1st 2023. This Dr in my experience seems to only care about his bottom line and not about the patient. There are too many good ethical Dr's out there and sadly I chose the wrong one!! I hope this helps someone with their future decisions.

They handled all the insurance for me: I had no problem whatsoever with that. The office was clean and pleasant. I would not hesitate to return to Dr. Carradine if another issue arose.
