What they didn't tell me at the time is that according to their policy for some reason or another new members can't freeze their accounts on their 2nd month. a few days before I was set to leave, I went in and asked if they would freeze my account for the following month (a different person than when I signed up). That's when she let me know I couldn't freeze my account and I would have to pay for the following month also even though I wouldn't be using their services that month. So obviously I was upset by the fact that they locked me into paying for 6 weeks worth of tans knowing I would only tan for 2 weeks. I asked if I could speak to someone about it. She called her manager, and her manager wouldn't talk to me over the phone so that I could explain my situation. The worker "felt bad" for me and told me I should just stop the payment order through the bank. I just couldn't believe a company was willing to scam someone out of a month payment... The reality is, the tans worked, the place was clean, the employees up until that point were nice and helpful. For a place that is about making money from monthly payments, they didn't care about the future money they would make from me. Only what they would get that month. Kind of nuts to me, I never went back and never will.

**$200 gift card not honored and no refund or response**…read more On May 10, 2026, I purchased a $200 gift card from the San Clemente iTAN location using my Chase debit card as a birthday present for my wife. When my wife attempted to use it on June 3, the employees said the card was not working and denied her service. She attempted to use it again approximately two weeks later and was denied a second time. She was promised a callback but never received one. On June 17, she called the store again and was promised another callback. No one called. I went to the store personally that same day and was told that ownership had changed and that gift cards purchased before the ownership change were not working or being accepted. I requested a refund. The employees contacted a manager and told me that corporate would handle it, and someone would call me. No one did. On July 16, after receiving no response for nearly one month, I returned to the store. I was told that the manager would call me within two minutes. That call never came either. The business has my $200. The gift card has never been used, and we have received no service, replacement card, store credit, refund, apology, or meaningful response. An ownership change is an internal business matter. A customer should not be left with a worthless $200 gift card and no person willing to take responsibility. I have now submitted a written demand for a full refund and contacted Chase regarding a dispute. I will update this review if the business resolves the matter.
