We were served by a very helpful lady that spent time explaining what the different choices of Eastern European biscuits and cakes where, before loading us up with 6 cookies and 2 slices of homemade baklava, all for only £1.80!!! And on the way out, she offered us free sandwiches! So we walked away very happy indeed with a feast for two. The food itself was tasty, especially the coconut cookie and pistachio baklava. Delicious. Next time I'm in the neighbourhood I want to try a slice of their cakes - the carrot fudge cake looks amazing!

They get the balance on almond croissants just right too, other places make them too sweet but these are spot on. We buy our bread from here all the time, the walnut and onion bread is my personal favourite, poppy seed is nice, and for a treat we get the buttermilk current bread on Saturdays. It's basically a huge hot cross bun! They also sell their own jam, granola and muesli which is pretty good. Finally, the price. Not cheap, but you're paying for quality ingredients, organic flour, free range eggs and no artificial preservatives anywhere. Everything is handcrafted by their own team of bakers and you can really taste it. Why are you still reading this when you could be having cake??

Firstly, it is NOT my local post office, there is at least one that is much closer. I also realised I was hungry so I thought I'd give Crown Bakery, two doors down a try. It's a small local business, and as is usually the case, the lady serving me was friendly and helpful. She helped me choose what I wanted for breakfast which was a bacon and sausage baguette, and suggested cheese on it too. A strange suggestion I thought, but OH MY GOD it was AMAZING! If I'm in the area again collecting a parcel, I'll definitely go back for another breakfast. Maybe a cake too.

These are written up on a high blackboad so that it's easy for everyone waiting to see them and choose A bit further in, you'll find more substantial food options. There would be 5 of us, so I went for the 6-pack (sadly, the content itself is quite unsuited to develop a six-pack ;-) Ms Cupcake was there when I got there and with her cheerful voice she greeted me warmly. I asked her to pick a selection of cupcakes for me...she highly praised the ferrero cupcake and so I took two of those. Other flavours were carrot cake & strawberry, for example. Later that night we all loved the cupcakes. And only afterwards did I share with my friends that these are vegan cupcakes. I didn't really enjoy that portion of it. Flavors were right on though. I also purchased some Veggo chocolates, Vivani, and another Italian brand chocolate the woman recommended. Very good. Can't tell the difference. The Vivani chocolate, were a bit different. Still good, but different. I also bought some jerky sticks there! So declicious! I bought the chorizo flavor, because my husband doesn't eat spicy stuff, and the other flavor sounded very spicy. LOL I wish I had bought more. The prices are really cheap (maybe a pound for a gigantic chocolate chip cookie) so you won't break the bank if you want to get your grub on here.
