Do NOT buy a KingFisher boat from Gibbons Motor Toys, serious warning from a local customer…read more Do yourself a favour and shop elsewhere. Had a shifter cable problem since day one of purchase. According to Gibbons Motor Toys, the issue was a design flaw straight from the original KingFisher 1975 factory hull design, where the hole under the dash designed for the shift cables etc. to fit through was too small, causing the jacketing of the shift/throttle cable to rub on the rough cut aluminum edges, ultimately exposing the underlying cable to outdoor elements along with binding of the cable against raw aluminum which made the throttle feel "sticky" and "stiff" resulting in less controllable low speed maneuvering around, docks, etc. The "ultimate fix" for Gibbons Motor Toys was to order a brand new shift cable? (boat only has 11 hours at this point).. okay.. so we waited 4 months for that. The custom made part still didn't fit properly, so then the solution was to hack apart the underside of our cockpit area with a die grinder, trying to open the hole enough to alleviate the pressure of the shift cable against the side of the hole they drilled originally. None of this helped...neither the brand new shift cable that we waited months for, or the "custom fabrication job" they did on our boat to make the new shift cable feel smoother in operation. Avoid these guys and find a shop that actually honest and knows what they're doing, you will save thousands in the long run.

They do! I had hoped for a cage, but they use a belt-type contraption that adheres to your exhaust when it heats up, and inside are airplane-grade chains that ruin saw blades. I spoke to Greg on the phone, and he gave me an estimate of around $600. I was desperate, and it was handy to work. So last Tuesday, I took in my Forester, and they got the job done quickly and efficiently. AND it was $200 less than he quoted me, so always a bonus. After delaying the delivery of the truck, due to their lack of laziness, Randy Taylor tossed me keys on delivery day and said" That's all I've got for you". They don't take responsibility for there actions, or will help you when they have wronged you. Don't believe anything anyone at this dealership says. After purchasing a new boat from a local Alberta boat shop and had the unfortunate need to require…read moresome warranty work. The issue was minor, with one of the bunks that the boat rests on, having a small tear in the fabric after a few months use. Trying to use the dealer was as difficult as it could be with them wanting my boat and trailer dropped off after a 3 hour drive one way and then they wouldn't preorder parts and gave explanations that EZ Loader required video etc. to authorize the repairs. Reaching out to EZ Loader directly, they accepted the photos I had of the issue, advised the reasons which were dealer setup of the trailer and how the boats rivets rested on the bunk. Regardless that this was the dealers error and not theirs, they still took the lead in remediating the issue. Within days I had a new bunk delivered to my door and with their knowledge I was ably to easily place the bunks in the correct position without any need to waste the time as the dealer insisted. EZ Loader was courteous, friendly, and very professional. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone looking for a trailer manufacturer that gets it. If you want to stay in business, take care of your customers; if you lose your customers, you lose your business. Well done guys!!
