The worst company I have ever used. AVOID at all costs. Do not hire them, do not waste your money on them. Literally any other company will provide a better service. I have been trying to have my appliance repaired for weeks. I have prepaid for the parts, but after so many follow up emails and phone calls to go repair that I've lost count, I am still waiting for my oven to be fixed. At this point I don't know if it ever will be. I urge anybody considering using this company NOT TO. You will waste not only your money, but also your time and energy and get no where. This company uses aggressive marketing. I filled in an online form yesterday evening asking for a quote for a repair and quickly received a text message back asking me to book an oven service online. I ignored this and received a test message at 09:00 this morning thanking me for booking a repair, advising an engineer was ready to visit and asking me to call. I called at 09:09 and said I was after a quote for a repair, that is when the hard sell started about taking out insurance. I told them I was not interested in insurance and that I was waiting for other quotes and would call back if I wanted to book them. At 09:31 I received another text stating that they had reserved me an engineer. 3 minutes later at 09:34 I received a phone call from the insurance provider! I told the lady I was not interested and I had phoned Go Assist for a repair quote only. The lady then asked me to confirm my name and address; I refused as she clearly had my information. I asked for my information to be removed from their system and hug up. I wish I had read the reviews before asking for a quote. I am now going to lodge an official complaint with the Information Commissioner. read more

SCAM !!! Be very careful of this company !!! I got tricked on the phone to sign up and was assured my fridge would be fixed !!! I paid £79 for a call out . The engineer came to my home the next day and had a little look at my fridge freezer and told me he couldn't fix it !! While he was still in my address I called customer service as I was unhappy it couldn't be fixed . I asked the engineer if he could just wait a min while I made the call , but he left my address ..... then to my surprise I was told by GO Assist that they would NOT send anyone to fix my fridge as I had been abusive to the engineer!!!! This is ABSOLUTE NONSENSE!!! ..... so I paid £79 for nothing and lost £300 worth of food !!! .. I will take this further!! read more

Very unimpressed. I arranged an "engineer" call out for a fridge not cooling down and making excessive noise. A cursory look online suggested it might be a compressor issue. Paid £125 quid for a guy to come out (call out and labour). He spent less than 5 minutes in the house, he put his hand on the back inside wall of the fridge and said, "it's the compressor, you'll need a new one, it will need to be ordered, it will take a few weeks and will take another visit". I'm pretty sure that's why I gave the go-assist phone helpline the fridge model and fault details for when I arranged the call out, so they could come prepared. He wouldn't even take a look behind the fridge to see if it could be a different issue despite me asking him to take a closer look. The contract terms say the call our engineer will undertake "The attempted repair of the fault described to Us via Your online application or over the phone." This company conned my mother out of over £200 to repair her faulty tumble drier, she could have purchased a new machine for this! Nearly a month later since payment, her tumble drier isn't fixed and her complaint elicited a rude and unprofessional response. Awful, awful company - AVOID! read more

This company is a total scam. They advised me that my repair will cost £129 with no fix no repair. When the engineer came out, he did nothing and said there is a lot of damage. They then asked me to pay another £95, which I didn't; but they wouldn't refund the full £129. They deducted £89. They scam people to think they are getting a no fix no repair, but in reality you will still be paying. They also sneakingly lure you into an annual insurance plan. and all of this is recorded in a divisive way to say "we told you so". read more

Avoid Go-Assist at all costs, a shambles. Go Assist charged me £160 for the privilege of NOT fixing my diswasher, and they refuse to refund. As you will probably guess this is not a 5 star review. Things you should note about this firm. Their website (by their own admission) mis-represents their service, do not be lured by phrases such as fast and efficient service, or repairs from "Today onwards", when they take your money they will also indicate a preferred date. Do not believe any of it, their actual delivery terms are hidden in their terms and conditions, they use third party engineers and therefore cannot commit to any dates when they take your money. When I committed my money for an engineer to attend to fix my Bosch dishwasher in what I thought would be two days, I was given a number by go-assist and asked to ring a third party to book my own visit, the earliest I could get an engineer was two weeks, and purely for a diagnosis visit, not a fix! Because of the Christmas break I reluctantly agreed to wait for this visit, the engineer visited, listened to the dishwasher, did not even remove the dishwasher from its housing and decided that it needed a spare part and that he would let Go Assist know to order it. Then nothing heard, so I chased go-assist, you will get used to that if you use them. The part required was the drain pump, official Bosch Website price with VAT approx £30, Go-Assist Price £91. Read their terms and conditions, they charge an admin charge of £50 per part. I did manage to get the admin charge removed, in anybody's oprinion £50 is excessive. I approved the purchase for the part, but due to delays at this stage I managed to get the manager Pippa involved, I was told that the part would be ordered and I could expect a repair in about a week. A week later, with nothing heard, I chased again, the part had just been delivered but I was expected to wait nearly another two weeks for an engineer to visit. A total time for repair from initial contact with go-assist to the repair 36 days. I cancelled the engineer and asked for a refund from Go-Assist, which they refused, they seem to think that the gross mis-representation of their advertising could be justified by their "terms and conditions" Even though I cancelled the engineer, and had confirmation from Go-Assist that this was the case, he still turned up on the 36th day to repair the dishwasher, this organisation really is a shambles. As for my dishwasher, I used another major firm, cheaper, guaranteed and time to fix 53 hours, not 36 days! As you can see, best to avoid Go Assist, thay will waste your life. Go-Assist Scotland On Wednesday 18/7 I Paid £119 up front for an engineer to come our On Friday 20th and had call later that day to say Engineer would need to be following Monday 23rd then had call on Monday 23rd at 8.45 am to say Engineer would not be coming and they would need to call me back later to re book .... I had to call them several times before been given another date of Thursday 26th July and today the 24th July I received a text to ask me to call them again as booking has now be cancelled as no engineer in the area any longer . I now have to wait 5 days for money to be refunded to my account......... Tip... Worst company I've ever had to deal with. I paid them over £200 to send a repairman which took over a week. The repairman said I need a new part he doesn't have and they need to order. Then for a whole month, I've heard nothing back. Whenever I called them I had to wait 20 minutes for someone to pick up and when they finally did, they said they'll check and get back to me and they never did. When I had finally asked for a refund, they said they'll check again and suddenly - they can fix my appliance. Only I need to pay over £300 more for them to do so. When my appliance only cost £400 to begin with. The reason, of course, they can suddenly fix my appliance is because it says on their website that if they can fix it - You won't get a full refund. Beware... this is big scam business. They lured you by talking sweet and gives you very positive feelings. Once you signed and parted with the fixed fee just say goodbye to £100 because the engineer will come and will tell you the office will send you the report. Next thing the big warranties will send you an exorbant quote which doesn't justify the fee. And you automatically will go for a cancellation.... This is the sting in the tail... you get the refund less the call out charge... of £100... a scam you agreed in t&c...a private repair company will only ask for no more than £35... once again... don't get done... don't get taken in by sweet talk and big name. Technically they will never say no to a repair but will make you say no... so you are fleeced £100 off you. read more

It's a shame you can't give zero stars! This company and Big Warranties (who share the same customer care team but are supposedly separate) have set up a clever system to deceive consumers. I paid £200 on a no fix no fee basis... small print then showed that any parts and labour costs above £200 aren't covered! I cancelled the agreement the following week and they tried to claim that I wasn't owed a refund as the fault was fixable. After arguing my case they agreed to only withhold £89 for the diagnostics (bit steep but not wholly unreasonable). However, they then took £50 from my account as a penalty for cancelling the insurance policy that I was forced to take out (even though it hadn't yet come into effect). I pointed out that I was within my 14 day cooling-off period, but they said it doesn't matter as it's Go Assist who are charging me, not Big Warranties. They took the £50 from me while we were on the phone but the refund of £111 has still not been processed to date... Steer well clear!!! read more

The experience I have had with this company absolutely stinks - the agents and complaints team will not accept that they are rude and obnoxious - I had a problem with my dishwasher and called them and took out the relevant policy. My hearing is not good these days and I did not get everything the agent said on the phone. My dishwasher is not going to work so I have decided to not buy another one and cancel the policy. they now want £50 to do this and said that it was all explained clearly - well maybe to them it was but not me I have sent several letters and as far as they are concerned they are completely in the right not rude or arrogant in their responses and it is down to me - well what excellent customer service !!!!! NOT - I have now asked for the name and email address of their Chief Executive so lets see if I get then I will take it further. I will keep you posted anybody that reads this. read more

We have had recent dealings with this shocking company Go Assist re repairs to a kitchen appliance. I could write an essay on why not to use this company. They con innocent people, they say they have parts on order then you can no longer contact them. They also scam you in to taking out a warranty but fail to inform you that there will be a £50 cancellation fee but they cover themselves by putting it in their terms and conditions on their website. All you need to do is look at their T&C's to realise how robbing they are. The company big warranties are clearly involved in the scam so please do not use Go Assist, Big Warranties or ACL domestic repairs who are apparently operating out of Richmond House in Bournemouth. read more

We have been so frustrated with this company. We have a faulty dish washer and asked for a repair person to come to the house to fix it. Next thing we know they have charged us for a 12 month contract and my wife called and tried to get them to reverse that but they said no. Now that they had us locked into a 12 month contract they took 10 days to come out and fix the problem, only for them to see the error code (which we repeatedly told them on the phone ten days earlier) and say they did not have the part required. So we wait another 2 weeks and he comes to install the new part only to say that the part he has received is faulty!! Another 8 days later they come back to 'fix it' I check in with him while he is working to make sure he has everything he needs and it is going to be fixed and he says yes. He finishes the job, says it is fixed and as soon as he leaves we put a cycle on and the SAME ERROR come back up and it stops working again. I've now been on hold for 8 minutes waiting to speak to them. Absolute criminals. My wife is in tears trying to deal with them. I've now just called them and they won't speak to me because i'm not the policy holder, do they think they are dealing in sensitive personal information or something? Ask to speak to a manager and am told the manager will not speak to me. I ask what other security information they need in order to verify the account and they just start getting irritated with me. Absolute criminals, they have their money and now are treating us appallingly. read more

I telephoned Go Assist to enquire about fixing my oven and asked a lot of questions about cover options as my oven is over 20 years old. I told the agent I didn't want to pay a call out fee if it couldn't be fixed and he assured me that if I took out an insurance policy, I would be covered and if it couldn't be fixed, I would be able to claim on the insurance. His opinion, however was that it was easily fixable and I shouldn't be concerned. He assured me Go Assist are regulated by the FCA so he couldn't lie to me. It turned out the oven couldn't be fixed but I was told I could transfer the policy to a new appliance. I said I wanted to claim and was told this wasn't possible as this only kicks in after it is fixed for the first time. The insurance policy is given by BIG Warranties who are covered by the FCA but Go Assist are not! I emailed Go Assist's complaints department, detailing dates of all calls and asking them to listen to conversations but got an incredibly rude reply simply stating that because the agent read the T&Cs out to me at the end of the call, I wasn't entitled to anything, even though I asked direct questions about the service which I received lies to as a response. I said I would forward this to the Ombudsman and they just said they weren't covered by them so that's that. I find this very underhanded and would definitely avoid! read more
