As an extremely healthy 70 year old, recently retired, I've been playing golf twice a week for the past two years. At the end of July, I somehow injured my left shoulder, and curtailed my weekly game for the next 6 weeks, hoping the rest would restore my swing without further pain. My first visit to Dr. Cohen was a great experience! I have suffered moderate discomfort for 2 years in my hip/back. I have visited many physicians' offices, received numerous x-rays, and tried physical therapy and at home stretching. While this was helpful, the discomfort would always return. On our third appointment for weight loss, he suggested that I pay a few thousand dollars to have tests run on me to help with the weight loss. As a graduate student and newly wed, I said that I was not able to pay for something like that. In response, Dr. Cohen suggested that I should bring my husband to my next appointment because he would understand the financials better. It was extremely offensive to me and my intelligence. Dr. Cohen also spoke poorly about my ovaries and reproductive system in an attempt for me to pay thousands of dollars for testing. Talking about a woman's reproductive system is like kicking a man in the nuts. Dr. Cohen then said I probably wasn't understanding what he was saying, and I responded that I was and that I am a smart person. Dr. Cohen then said how much I weighed, and asked when I weighed under a certain amount. When I responded that it had been 3 years ago, he shook his head in disbelief and disappointment. I have never felt more violated or insulted than I did during that appointment. When Dr. Cohen asked me how he was doing (during conversation), I told him that he had really hurt my feelings, and that everything he had said had really turned me off. I then got up and walked out of the building and left. I was extremely upset the rest of that day and the next day. My experience with him was traumatizing. read more

When I met Dr. Cohen, I had a drawer full of prescription painkillers and had been getting steroidal spinal injections for 2 years. Little did I know those steroids were making me sick and exhausted. I came in excited to work with someone who woukd take a wholistic approach to my treatment and left extremely disappointed. The intake session was rushed and I felt like Dr. Cohen did not take the time to listen. He cut me off while I provided background information and rushed me out the door. I decided to come back though, thinking it might have been an off day. The second session was a bit longer but I left feeling insulted due to Dr. Cohen's condescending demeanor. I still was cut off as I spoke, and he made misogynistic comments (e.g., "maybe you should ask your husband and come back") when I asked about payment options. When you see Dr. Cohen you benefit from his passion to help people get well with natural treatments to keep the need for prescriptions at a minimum. He has identified many issues for me that all the other medical doctors I have seen have missed. Recently I had an event that appeared to be heart related. After several thousands of dollars, 2 trips to ER and an overnight hospitalization they found nothing that caused my pain. I saw Dr. Cohen a couple weeks later. Without me saying anything to him he detected issues with my heart on that visit. He ran some tests and the analysis made perfect sense to me and seemed to explain the reason I had experienced pain. The methods used by a naturopath and traditional M.D. are different. But I believe medical tests are geared to finding problems far enough advanced that medication or surgery is the solution but with natural treatments they seem to find issues early on and are able to prevent issues from becoming severe. I went to Doc with a multitude of issues and felt confident he could help me but I live 266 miles away and thought he was not open on Mondays. Therefore, I would have to lose 2 days of work, pay for my appointment and all the associated expenses of travel. It was a bit too much for my circumstances. An orthopedic surgeon had an MRI done on my shoulder that I injured at work and wanted to do surgery. When I found out Doc was open on Mondays I immediately scheduled an appointment the next Monday. I drove over Sunday afternoon, rented a $30 Airbnb room and had a 11am appt with Doc. Doc confirmed the partially torn rotator cuff, but was able to adjust it so that it would heal without surgery and in proper alignment. My shoulders were out of alignment along with my hips and he muscle tested me and I was weak in every area. He just started laughing at me and said, "really!" Doc last treated me about 9 years ago in a different state, and during that time I saw first hand his awesome diagnostic abilities as he got instantaneous results on numerous patients. It was beyond belief and mind staggering. I now have some neuropathy in my hands and feet, and a trigger finger on my left hand ring finger. My hair analysis, blood work, and urinalysis tests were also enlightening to Doc. They said I have some digestive issues. I told him about having to pee about 3 times every night, which I just assumed was normal for a 63 year old. Doc put some cushions under both of my hips at various angles and my body immediately became strong as the alignment was corrected, I had to lay there for a while for the body to realign but the effects were freaky quick with instantaneous results. We are talking results in 10 seconds. What is the most amazing thing about Doc is his ability to use applied kinesiology to muscle test you and diagnose the cause or what needs to be treated. It is not hit and miss. He can test a remedy, supplement, or whatever to determine if this is what you need or not. He gave me only 2 bottles of pills, both he muscle tested me for, one for the digestive problem, which he said was a bacterial infection in my stomach and a DNA pill to help with the neuropathy. I drove back Monday afternoon and got to work at 8:30 pm, worked until 4:30 am (I am a machine operator in a plastics factory). I got to bed about 5:45am and slept until 12:15. For the 1st in a year I did not have to get up to pee throughout the night!! This continued throughout the week. The second night at work I was able to close my fist completely for the 1st time in over a year, and more impressive, I was able to open the fist without assistance from my other hand. My next treatment a week later, using cold laser treatment significantly reduced the extreme pain in my right foot. To go from taking my first step in the morning, which was like stepping on hot coals to being able to take the first step with almost no pain and no hot burning sensation was a great experience. Doc is unbelievably talented, gifted beyond belief, has a great heart and gets immediate results. His acupuncture skills, combined with naturopathic remedies and chiropractic adjustments are a combination that will astound even the strongest skeptic. After 2 treatments with Doc and driving almost 1100 miles to see him, a week later I had a follow up appointment with the workman's comp orthopedic surgeon and he removed all restrictions and said no physical therapy was needed and this was after he told me a chiropractor would not be able to help me!! I didn't bother to tell him that Doc had made the difference. You have to be willing to listen and he wasn't. I tell everyone I know about Doc and have been for years. Rarely in life do you encounter a genius who is so talented, Doc is one of those. He is a genuine healer and will provide you with true health care in numerous facets if you are seeking a healthy, pain free life. On the first visit, I walked in the office and wondered, where is anyone? I stood at the desk and waited and waited. Finally someone came out but they were more concerned with talking with the staff that worked there about their own personal concerns. Dr. Cohen asked me to have some lab worked done down the street before my next visit but this was not documented by anyone. I think someone is wasting their money by paying anyone who works here. It is like they are getting paid to party all day. The staff was not professional at all.The second visit, I took with me x-rays, mri's and reports. Everything was so neatly organized. Dr. Cohen placed everything on his desk and he had all my information disorganized. When I went to check out, I mentioned to his wife that works or that is his wife that is in the office with him that I needed all the information that I brought in and she walked back to his office to get everything that I took in. I was very frustrated! Dr. Cohen also mentioned that he would make an appointment for me to have the lab work done. His wife said that they do not do that but Dr. Cohen said that he would do it for me. I do not think that this office knows what they are doing. Dr. Cohen quoted me a fee of $3,100 for treatment twice a week for 8 weeks. To me this care is temporary and it is like an illusion.
