This was a very delightful show. Mrs. Sarah went above and beyond to get to know her customers. She was very friendly, attentive, and pleasure to talk to. Her husband/main magician was funny and professional. Other magicians came to each of the tables and shared their tricks, making the experience more personable. The food was good too. I went to see a friends blues band playing and was surprised by the eclectic crowd that showed up. They come to check out the music, they come to chat, they come to read, they come to just plain hang. The Phoenix serves some coffee... just your basic coffee and decaf for which they accept donations. They also have a BYO policy so there aren't any issues with bring in your own favorite beverage. The teams who did our show last night were very talented and came up with hilarious improv skits. The referee is great at getting the crowd worked up and into the show right from the start. The audio/visual tech guy really adds another layer of fun and comedy to the entire show. We went with a group of seven ranging in age from 11 to 45 years, including hard to please teenagers, and we all came away laughing and wanting to go back again. They were jumping up and down and the look on her face was priceless. In the past we have really enjoyed the comedy of "Whose Line is it Anyway" and have a good idea of what to expect. However, it definitely exceeded any expectations that we had. The two teams were very funny and creative and the referee did a great job warming the audience and keeping them involved.
