Service was lousy. We were seated for nearly 20 mins without a server approaching us. I had to seek a server out to get water. The same issue with Prontos, which I think is the same owner. Either way, this is about Five15. Breakfast buffet was EXTREMELY limited. A breakfast quiche, which was over cooked and not very flavorful, greasy sausage links, potatoes with peppers, croissants, and some deli meats. The highlight was the fruit tray, consisting of 3 melons. Do NOT go for the food. It's a throwaway. I attended Drag Queen Trivia. The topic was the Golden Girls and table one where my team sat - we just had no idea. People dressed in character costumes, and went crazy when they got one question wrong. We went crazy when we got one right!. Drinks were fabulous, never would have mixed a cucumber vodka with champage splash, but it was refreshing and Peach is the new Orange was also very nice. I had chicken strips and fries and the food was good, fresh and hot. Our server, Reggie was awesome! The shopping in here is awesome too! Be sure to check in on Yelp for a nice surprise. This is a long but important one. Our friend group had all been here before, and had positive experiences, so when our friend mentioned wanting to go for her birthday, we were all excited. We booked one of Sabin's shows, and sadly didn't realize it would ruin our birthday girl's night. It was clear from the start that this drag queen's schtick was to be mean. That's fine, we could handle it and expected that. We are not easily offended. Sabin started to call out one member of our table for being "so F*ing loud" and "so f*cking annoying" and mentioned hating our friend many, many times throughout the show. We thought it was part of the comedy routine. We were interacting and involved in the show, laughing and engaged. However, as the show was closing things became less funny, and more cruel. Sabin: (directed toward one friend) "SHUT UP! You are really so f*cking annoying. I am not even kidding I want to head butt you right now." (mind you this is happening in front of everyone) .. continues on and says, "You have been so disrespectful this entire show and have ruined the show for everyone else around you, you act like you're the only person in the room that matters. I hope you get hit by traffic." I looked shocked, as this suddenly started to feel less comedic "mean" and more just outright cruel. That's when Sabin noticed my face and said, "That's right I am calling you guys out in front of everyone because you have been so rude this entire show, dont act upset now that you got called out." We were truly all dumbfounded. The entire time we had been laughing, engaged, and playing along with all the jokes. Our waiter never once told us, hey can you guys quiet down or anything along the sort. No worker told us, "hey guys, we know youre having fun but can you quiet down?" All we thought was that Sabin was joking with us. We left the show feeling really sad, and embarrassed. Not to mention extremely confused about how things went from being fun, to incredibly rude. You would think this would be the end of it but no! We went next door to Pronto's bar, and went to order drinks. This is when we were told by a very rude bartender that we were cut off. Mind you, some of us were completely sober and some of us only had a few drinks and were by no means intoxicated to the point of needing to be cut off. I was one of the sober ones. When my friend questioned this and tried to explain the situation and requested to speak to a manager, the bartender became irate and said she was acting like a "toddler" because she wasn't getting her way. I have never in my life felt so disrespected for seemingly no reason, and the management felt to be like mean teenage girl mentality. It really felt like for some reason they took a dislike to us, and instead of telling us politely to quiet down or settle down a bit, they wanted to prove a point or something. We will never be giving our business to Pronto again, and you can bet that we will be telling everyone we know not to support the drag queen bingo as it truly did ruin the night and not even management tried to help us understand or smooth things over. I would never support this business again. I truly wish they would have handled things differently, and I think the night could have been salvaged but instead they chose to be incredibly unprofessional and mean-spirited to a girl who was just trying to celebrate her birthday. read more

I came here tonight for drag queen bingo, I've been before just to browse though. Definitely R-rated, but also a good time - I went with two girlfriends, but surprisingly there were a few guys in the audience also (as well as a TON of bachelorette parties - I think like 5 or 6? Crazy!). I had been wanting to try drag queen bingo for a while now, as I'm a huge fan of bingo (and also drag queens, lol). I think my friend booked our reservation beforehand, and I believe you have to pre-pay. They fill up FAST so start looking for reservations a few weeks before you want to go. I've heard they do a brunch bingo on Sundays too, where they actually feed you - for the nighttime bingo games (7pm and 10pm on Saturdays, or at least weekends), they have a food and (non-alcoholic) beverage menu if you'd like to purchase anything. Bingo is $20 per person and I've heard the Sunday brunch is $30/person. This was a unique experience, and a lot of fun! One of my favorite things was when the queen would make comments about the people walking by the store, outside, ha. I was actually kind of glad I didn't win because I'm a bit of an introvert, and it would have involved walking up to the front to claim my prize, but someone in our party won TWICE which was awesome - she got two mugs and two t-shirts. read more

Drag Queen Bingo is held inside Five15, cute little gift and coffee shop in Royal Oak. Drag Queen Bingo is certainly worth the trip. Four rounds of bingo for $20/pp, but you re really not there for the bingo as much as the "show". Currently, DQB runs every Saturday night (recently they added Friday too - on a trial basis), with doors opening at 6:30p and the show starting just after 8p and ending just before 11p. Advanced reservations are a must and it can fill up quickly. Reservations are taken with a credit card and not charged til you get there. The person I spoke to was very helpful abt parking and arrival time (it helped to get there a lil early to get situated and to miss the last minute crowd trying to pay). He also asked if anyone in the party was celebrating anything, which I thought was a nice touch. The crowd was made up of quite an eclectic mix - gay, straight, young, old, bday parties, anniversaries and everyone/anything in between, I was entertained to be with one of the 3 straight guys in the crowd, as the caller had plenty to talk to him about! There is a definite advantage to sitting close to the stage - but be prepared for being picked on. (think comedy club - way more fun to feel like a part of the action). Participants must be at least 18 years. Be ready for what many would consider offensive language and content - but all done in good fun. Apparently, there are basically 3 rotating hosts, each with her own style. Five15 has a limited menu - croissant sandwiches (tasty) and baked goods were abt it for food typically, but there was a special Bingo menu that included burgers and pizza, Lots of yummy beverage options: coffees, teas and smoothies (all non-alcoholic), but as others mentioned, lots of smuggled in adult beverages for the show. The only downside was there being only one bathroom - it made for long lines at the breaks. I would highly recommend Drag Queen Bingo. I recently took my mom and a handful of friends to celebrate her 71st bday - everyone had a blast. We brought in a cake we bought at Pronto and it was perfect. If you're a boy who likes boys (or have a boy who likes boys in your life) then Five15 is a great place to hit. They've got a great selection of stuff from sexy underoos to greeting cards and books created specifically for a gay audience. I lived in Chicago for a bit and spent part of that time living in Boystown so shops like this were pretty commonplace. Unfortunately, not many shops around the Detroit area carry such a wide array of items geared specifically towards gay men so Five15 is a real breath of fresh air. Of course, if you're not a boy who likes boys (or have a boy who likes boys in your life) or if you're a boy who likes boys looking for a gift for a non-boy who likes boys (this is becoming a bad cover of a great Blur song) then you can find something here as well. Lots of fun gifty type things for all folks available here too. Mugs, decor pieces, etc. They have a decent selection of items here to choose from. AND--coffee. My drug of choice. Five15 is also part coffee shop. Filled with a few tables for casual seating/chatting and warm beverages/snacks to fill you up while you do it. I just popped in briefly and was full from lunch so I didn't partake in any beverages but I couldn't pass up on the beautiful looking pink pavlova which I took home and snacked on when I was less ouchie from crepe overload down the street. This is a shop that I'm really happy to see in the Metro Detroit area. And more than anything I am SUPER geeked to get here for Drag Queen Bingo ASAP! read more

(Unless you're close minded & uptight.. and maybe voted for Trump... then maybe stay home, lol) We celebrated our gf 50th here last night with Carol, the hostess with the mostess... entertained from beginning to end! (10pm - 11:30-ish). I was honestly very surprised at the quality of entertainer/comedienne/actor we had for only a $20 ticket!!! You would pay so much more in Chicago, Toronto, etc and couldn't get a higher level of pro entertainer than we had here. (Hopefully they are making it up in drinks... we drank much before and had to slow it down once we arrived but I did purchase from the gift shop area) Safest drink is probably the house wine... you can't mess that up. Our table tried an array of drinks from an alcoholic latte to the 515 cocktail.. you're better off with the house Cabernet. (You're coming for the show, not a professional bartender). But for souvenirs sake, there is a tall legged plastic cups for keeps if you want. Went to Five15 for Drag Queen Bingo for a friend's birthday and had a blast! What a fun way to celebrate a birthday, bachelorette party or girl's night out?! We couldn't stop laughing the entire time we were there! Lots of birthday parties and bachelorette parties were here when we came with mostly women but a good amount of guys were here as well. Our Drag Queen's name was Carol, I believe. She had around three rounds of Bingo. The first round was getting to know her and she gave hilarious tidbits and made jokes about herself. The second round was the getting to know us round, where she asked questions as she called out each number and had us raise our hands whether or not we did such and such thing, like a hilarious game of "I Never." The last round she went around each group and found out what we were celebrating and then the night ended with a game of reverse bingo. It was raunchy and hilarious, definitely not your grandma's game of church bingo. If you were one away from a bingo, everyone shouted, "It's on b$&ches!" If you got a bingo, you were brought on stage and asked some questions like "what do you do for a living?" so Carol could pick out a raunchy mug and t-shirt perfect for you, as your prize. All the t-shirts and mugs given out as bing prizes, had hilarious sayings and if you don't win a bingo, you can always purchase one after the show or stop back in during the week to browse their shop. They had lots of cute funny merchandise to purchase. Didn't know what to expect and thought the heckling might be pretty brutal but our drag queen Carol took it pretty easy. A girl in a group of a bachelorette party was super shy when Carol was going around the groups and Carol said that she used to be brutal when she started out but wouldn't be able to sleep at night if she thought she upset someone. I've seen more harsh heckling over at Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle. Every game of bingo is hosted by a different drag queen so it probably varies. Don't get me wrong, the humor was still pretty naughty and R-Rated though but an absolute riot. I didn't win a bingo but several people in our group did which was fun to watch. Spots fill up fast for Drag Queen Bingo so I'd recommend booking a reservation well in advance. My friend made a reservation a month in advance for our large group of around twenty people. It was $20 per person but they did bill the entire party to her credit card. They have a food menu and boozy and non-alcoholic drinks available. They take orders before the game starts. I had a boozy strawberry banana rum infused slushie which was very tasty. It was around $12 and if you want any drink served in a fishnet stocking covered leg cup, it's an additional $7. They also offer alcoholic and non-alcoholic hot cocoas, milkshakes, smoothies, and mocha and chai lattes, as well as beer, wine and signature cocktails. They offer some food items too like quesadillas, nachos, flatbreads, pretzels, tots, and chicken fingers. The kitchen is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights after 6:00 pm. They also offer a Sip, Swish, and Stroke which is a Drag Queen spin on painting with a twist. Overall, Drag Queen Bingo is an absolute blast! I don't get. I think this place suffers from a type of Dissociative Disorder for Retail. Everytime I think about Five15 I wonder what their business model is. I love the aesthetic of the store and I like the concept but I really don't get it. First, they have a lot of kitsch and gifts, which are fun to look at but I don't know who buys them. If you need a unique gift, you may be able to find one here. There's a lot of quirky items or coffee cups with funny sayings, but it's nothing that great. Second, they have a lot of items geared towards the gays. They have a huge supply of gay magazines and others related to gay culture. They also have a large number or homosexually-oriented books and music. I guess to tie with this theme the store also sells underware and large bottles of lubricant. Third, I guess it's a coffee shop, But it's weird coffee out of a machine and not made by a barista or anything like a normal coffee house. There are a few table and chairs. Allegedly, Five15 has free WiFi as well but it never seems comfortable enough to stay for long. Fourth, I would call it a "performance space". Sometimes there's a stage, sometimes there isn't. Every other Saturday night is Drag Queen Bingo. I've attended DQB and it was actually quite a good time. It's $10 for the cards and you can bring whatever you want to eat and drink including wine. Sometimes there's a performance going on in the store. Sometimes it's closed for a private party. I just don't think it's large enough or comfortable enough for these activities. I applaud the owners and employees for trying to make something beautiful and fun in Downtown Royal Oak, but at the end of the day this place just doesn't really offer anything I want. read more
