Let me start by saying the Cotswolds are absolutely beautiful. Our guide Steve, went the extra mile to make sure that we had a good time and answered all of our questions. Steve was the most knowledgeable since he lives in the village. He was personable and helpful. I would highly recommend this tour. I would recommend this tour to family and friends, and ask for Steve. read more

Our family recently completed a 2.5-day private tour of the Cotswolds with Dave, and we highly recommend him and the entire Go Cotswolds team! From initial outreach to planning/booking to the trip itself, our 8-person group had a fantastic time, and loved our experience in various villages of the North Cotswolds plus Castle Combe and Bath. Lisa was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process, helping us to shape a multi-day tour for our family. She was highly responsive and communicated clearly in answering our questions and helping us consider the options. Once we arrived in the Cotswolds, Dave provided an amazing experience for our multi-day tour. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and funny throughout the tour, and provided excellent advice on when to rearrange the itinerary to get us to popular spots before they were overrun with people. We greatly appreciated his expertise and flexibility in adjusting the plan as we went to let us spend more or less time in spots based on our preferences -- which, given our family, was necessary more than once, and a huge bonus to a private tour vs. public tour. The Go Cotswolds vehicle was roomy, comfortable, and well-air conditioned, a plus given that we arrived mid-heat wave. Our tour was the perfect way to explore this beautiful region for the first time. We can't wait to come back! read more

Excellent Cotswolds daytrips starting at £35. Hopped on a tour last-minute and didn't regret it at all. Owner/guide Tom was fantastic and as a Cotswolds native, knew the area tremendously well. Loved the intimate group size (minibus). Tom hosted a lovely, relaxed tour filled with nature, history and culture with highlights in Dover's Hill, Broadway Tower, Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-water and Rollright Stones. Quite friendly and professional. Trips depart from Stratford-upon-Avon with pickups available from Moreton-in-Marsh, Warwick Parkway and Leamington Spa rail stations. Highly recommend! read more
Excellent experience with Go Cotswolds, ideal if you are looking for an affordable (£35) and good quality tour, Starting point is the Cotswolds but I joined from London and there are many pick-up options (mine was Warwick Parkway station). The owner and guide, Tom, is a very nice a knowledgeable guy, always open to any questions and willing to give advice. I really appreciated the size of the tour (15 people minivan) and that we had some free time in each village to wander around, also you could choose anywhere you wanted for lunch, so it didn't really feel like a traditional tour. Would definitely recommend. read more

Our family just completed a tour with Tom and "Go Cotswolds." My wife and I have two teenagers and they absolutely loved the tour. I was very pleased with the value this tour offers. Tom is very personable and he is a fantastic guide. He is from the Cotswolds area and his local knowledge is second to none. He brought us to many beautiful towns and villages, and he shared a lot of information and stories about this beautiful region. I highly recommend this tour. read more

Really excellent tour. I absolutely loved it. This was a wonderful way to experience an overview of the Cotswold. Tom is excellent. At each stop Tom would give a full explanation of the area along with some historical facts and a few hand drawn maps which were helpful. This is followed by just enough free time to explore. Would definitely recommend. read more

Really excellent, solid tour. Tom is so nice and knowledgeable and there's plenty of time to do your own exploring in the areas. I live in the Cotswolds now but went with a friend when she was visiting me. Will gladly go with other friends in the future and be "tourist for the day" again! read more

My wife and I took this very memorable tour yesterday. We were picked up promptly at our hotel and proceeded on a fabulous day long tour of the Cotswolds. The owner/guide Tom is excellent. At each stop Tom would give a full explanation of the area along with some historical facts. This is followed by just enough free time to explore. Maps are handed out with specific highlights. Tom is extremely knowledgeable about the area and a passionate guide who enjoys showing people an area he knows well and loves. You will see some hidden gems that are not accessible to larger Tour Coaches. I HIGHLY Recommend this tour, well worth the price. read more

This was a wonderful way to experience an overview of the Cotswolds. As advertised it is a small van and we had such a range of people from all over the world. Tom was relaxed and shared information about each stop, just enough to get us going. We also received a couple hand drawn maps which were helpful. It never felt rushed and I felt able to get an idea of what each town had to offer. Tom was great in sharing information as well as the communication before hand of what to expect. Another benefit was to be picked up from a location that worked with you. read more

This is a must when lodging at Stratford-Upon-Avon! Is nothing like other tours where you basically sit inside the coach for most of the day and only get to spend couple of hours in one city! The Go Cotswolds tour gets you moving (Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and perhaps old too as some places might get muddy!) and let you sight seeing every village you visit! There's no need to pack your lunch as you'll have time to enjoy a nice pub meal in one of the villages but if you do bring your pack lunch; you'll have nice bits of green where you can sit and enjoy your sandwich! :) The guide is funny and entertaining; you can tell he loves where he lives and loves talking about it! That's called real passion! Overall is value for money! I went with my dad (on his 60s) and my daughter and her bf (16 years old). It's a tour that suites everyone but if you do have mobility issues you might want to contact the organiser first as there's a bit fair of walking involved; plus the minibus might not be able to accommodate wheelchairs. Not sure to be honest! read more

My mother and I took the Go Cotswolds tour coming from London. Tom made it quite easy by telling us exactly what train to catch and he was right on time in picking us up at the station. I loved the tour - Tom grew up in the area so he was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. He was very friendly and willing to take pictures which is always a plus. I also loved that we got time on our own at each of the stops, nothing felt rushed and we felt like we got a great taste of the Cotswolds. He also handed out hand drawn maps at a couple of the stops which were perfect. I find it hard understanding maps usually - but his personalized ones were very simple to understand and we felt very comfortable venturing around on our own without worrying about getting lost. Highly recommend this tour - I've talked to others that have taken the bigger bus tours where they go several places including the Cotswolds, but they really never actually stop in the Cotswolds, they just kind of drive through. I believe Tom took us to seven different places - really a wonderful day! read more

History
Established in 2014.
Tom Benjamin, the founder of Go Cotswolds, grew up on the edge of this beautiful English region. He spent his youth hiking, running, and playing in the Cotswold Hills village cricket league, and that's where his passion for the Cotswolds was born. It wasn't long before his infectious enthusiasm grabbed hold of wife Lisa too! With Tom and Lisa's love for independent travel and a spirit of adventure, Go Cotswolds was founded to show visitors around this beautiful region they call their ‘back yard’. Tom and Lisa create and deliver the kind of experiences they enjoy on our own travels, right here at home – fun, friendly, welcoming tours, with expert local guides who feel more like friends than teachers.

After days - literally - of searching online for a reasonable tour of the Cotswolds, I finally had the good fortune to finds Tom's website. I would encourage anyone to save time and money and just start with Tom. Here's why: Knowledge. Tom is a native of Stratford-upon-Avon, and he knows the Cotswolds backwards and forwards - the geography, the history, the culture, the legends. Method. Tom only takes small groups, so it's a friendly, cozy experience. He also doesn't talk constantly. He waits until arriving at a location, so he has the full attention of his group. Finally, he encourages exploration on your own with Maps custom made for every city. (Tip: sit up front with him in his van for even more insights.) Price. Don't tell Tom this, but he offers the most reasonable prices available for a tour of the Cotswolds. After having other guides unashamedly quote rates of £1000/day, Tom's rates were a return to reality. Website. Tom has the most straightforward, user friendly website of any tour guide I found. Most were unclear about logistics, or downright cagey about price. Not Tom's. You see exactly what you get, and for how much - no guessing or hunting. Plus, he's great about replying, and even offering the best way to meet him for the tour. It doesn't matter if you're staying in Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, or anywhere in between. So take my advice, save time and stress, and just start with Tom for an unforgettable tour of the Cotswolds. It remains the highlight of our last trip to the UK. read more

I am not a gushy person, but Tom impressed me so much I am compelled to write a detailed review of our tour. There were 3 of us on the tour, and Tom gave us the Cadillac of service and took his time explaining everything so nicely. He takes you to the best places in the Cotswolds (both the "must see" touristy places and several hidden gems). On a person level, Tom is extremely kind, well-travelled and (most importantly!) knowledgeable. He is energetic in his background explanations of each place (nothing felt canned) and he has a smile when you ask him to take the 100th picture of you in front of the breathtaking landscape. The places you see take your breath away! This tour is the perfect balance of showing you around and giving you context while still letting you explore on your own, pop into a shop for souvenirs or a pub from the 10th century for a quick lunch with your travel partner or alone. At the end of the tour, Tom took extra time to show me a few local landmarks (in sum, he is a person that loves people and learning about new people). Please take his tour and have a wonderful day together with new found friends! https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g186399-d6696369-r353777788-Go_Cotswolds-Stratford_upon_Avon_Warwickshire_England.html# read more

Tom, owner of Go Cotswolds and tour guide/driver, is a native of the Cotswolds and provided an up close view of many of the villages and surrounding countryside. We were 16 people in a mini-bus and we were able to get on and off at most all of them to walk around and absorb the essence of our surroundings. His commentary was excellent and informative. With a minibus we were able to travel on the back roads, some of which looked like foot paths, that the bigger buses would not be able to do. The price for this all day tour was a great value. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area! Thanks, Tom. Joe and Marie read more

Tom Benjamin, the owner and operator of Go Cotswolds, was born and raised in the Cotswolds. As a young man he played in the Cotswolds Cricket League and traveled extensively in the Cotswolds. He is very knowledgeable of both the history of the area as well as the geography. The tour took us to both the popular sites as well as some hidden villages less frequented by the large tourist crowds. We were also treated to some locations with breath taking views. This will be the best tour you will take by one of the finest individuals you will ever meet. read more

I wanted to experience the various Cotswolds towns but after seeing how stressful it is to drive around England, I booked this tour and am so happy I did. We wouldn't have seen half of what we saw with Tom on our own. He was a friendly, knowledgeable guide and great driver! So happy we didnt waste a day getting lost and into any accidents. Thank you for the great tour, Tom! read more
