We chose One Sound because of Mark's killer mixing at a bridal show in Atlanta last fall. The man has serious skills. In fact, we've totally been procrastinating on writing reviews (our plates are full with thank-you notes and other post wedding miscellania), but we were reminded after receiving yet another compliment on how awesome DJ Battle was. The dance party was amazingly fun. We are not easy people to please--our tastes are so all over the place. At one of our initial meetings we tried to explain our love for hip-hop, house, 80s pop, reggeaton, dubstep, salsa, dancehall...you get the idea. In addition, it was important for us to have traditional Jewish elements (the hora) and good old fashion bootyshaking and of course, some fun linedancing. Somehow, DJ Battle was able to pull all of that together. We had a very diverse wedding, but everyone was on the dance floor from the very first song until the last. It was so freaking cool to see so many of our guests, black, white, young, old, all dancing together with joyful exuberance. SO.MUCH.FUN. The lighting was dope too. Topher was the DJ for our wedding and even though we met for the first time moments after the wedding ceremony, I literally felt like I had known him for years! He is so kind and personable that it is impossible not to immediately love him! From our first phone call, I knew I was able to trust him to make our wedding exactly what we wanted it to be. He helped guide me when I had no idea about the flow of the night and talked through countless options of how to make our day unique. I'm pretty sure no one left the dance floor once they got onto it and it was because Topher was able to read the room so well and go off the vibe of what the guests wanted! Guests mostly remembers the music from the reception, but it's important to mention the ceremony music as well. As a bride, I was nervous about the clarity of the music with our wedding being outside, but it was so clear, proving the quality of Topher's equipment. To choose your songs for the ceremony and reception - he uses an app that makes it so easy to choose and rearrange things to the way that you want them! We decided to mash up two songs for our first dance, that he did PERFECTLY! He gave us options of how to mash the songs up and then more options once we decided the route we wanted to go. Before our celebration, I sat with Klara and came up with a plan for my event. She and Shane gave me great suggestions of songs for the family entrance, and the candle-lighting ceremony. This was so appreciated and we enjoyed discussing different songs. Klara and Shane are able to change and adapt to the event as needed. During our event, we played a photo montage that my son put together. In the middle of the montage, the music stopped. Shane quickly realized what was going on, and immediately started playing music that fit the moment. I ran to him and asked him to play a specific song that I knew my son wanted to hear. While I was a nervous wreck, Shane stayed calm and collected which helped to calm me down. I highly recommend Pure Entertainment to anyone looking for fun, professional, and flexible DJs.
