We were disappointed by our recent experience. When we attempted to update our order quantity the day before pickup, we couldn't reach anyone and were later told no changes could be made--despite the contract not listing a deadline. As a result, we overpaid for items we didn't need. Several items arrived damaged or unusable, including cracked glassware, stained/shrunken napkins, and worn easels. We also had to rewash more than half the glassware due to dirt. Communication was difficult due to a point-of-contact change, and overall customer service lacked the flexibility expected in the event industry. Terrible service, lack of inventory and expensive. I came in to TLC Rents to get a quote for a wedding reception. The lady who assisted me was Sharla. She was extremely rude and lacked basic knowledge on equipment for a wedding. When I asked to be shown different plates, flatware and furniture she sat at her desk and asked me to walk to places and pointer using her fingers. She refused to make eye contact and was focused the whole time on the computer. They have a great selection of tents, linens, decor, china/glasses etc...Plus, they really work with you to make you feel special. The prices are competitive in the market place. However, I have often used them for galas and fundraisers and they have discounted their rates in order to help sponsor the event. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, NO MATTER WHAT. I got charged a drop off and pick up fee from a event space. TLC did not call anyone when they arrived for pick up and they did not see the other set of crates around the corner. They did not even look, they left and said it would be an additional fee to come back out. I paid the additional fee, and then they did not pick up the crates two days later. They charged me almost 3,000 which is not even close to what the glasses are worth. This company is a huge scam, unprofessional, and unreliable. They barely answer the phone, kept sending me fake text messages that they would pick up the glassware and never did. I will NEVER rent from this terrible company ever again. Though seemingly in business since 1998, our entire experience with TLC Rents was amateur hour. These jokers called my sister on her WEDDING DAY, while she was getting her make up applied, to inform her they were going back on the contracted pick up date for the tent and other rented items (and as a result, she would incur a fee from the wedding site). The stressed bride called her big sister to look into it, because, duh, SHE IS GETTING MARRIED and ain't nobody got time for incompetent wedding vendor nonsense. I called and spoke with Reuben, the manager. Despite knowing how frazzled my sister was, I didn't approach the call from a defensive position. Maybe my sister misheard / misunderstood in the flurry of wedding preparations. I just wanted more information as to how it was possible the date of pickup was changing - and wanted to express the implications of that request on the rest of our arrangements. I asked Reuben exactly what was going on. He told me he wanted to change the date of pickup because he didn't have "any other pickups in that area" on Monday, so we'd just have to wait until Tuesday. I explained that was problematic, and ultimately, unacceptable, given the contracted date and the wedding site not being an actual wedding venue that could accommodate this kind of thing of change. I'm an event planner and I have never come across this kind of ill-preparedness. I stated as much and Reuben replied, "It's actually pretty common. I've been in this business 20+ years. Dates aren't guaranteed." Christ. He was very rude and snide. He repeatedly, and an in increasingly louder voice, would only give noncommittal answers about picking up on the scheduled day, like leaving me in suspense about whether he would fulfill his obligations would hurt me. Pro-Tip: Don't be a wedding vendor if dates aren't guaranteed. Bonus Pro-Tip: Don't call a bride on her wedding day because you didn't staff appropriately. Easy and reasonably priced. I spent less than $150 to rent 11 linens for a party I hosted. It's so nice to not have to worry about washing linens ahead of time or after the event. Just fold (they weren't folded super pretty) and return the correct amount and you're good. There are more than just linens to rent at TLC though.. Although I have no personal experience, I witnessed their small showroom with table decor, plastic thingys to raise buffet dishes, chair covers, place mats, plates and more! I emailed with Sarah, to discuss what I needed and was able to sent my CC through an online file (which I was fine with, you can fax, too) and Sarah helped me make this process super easy. Went here this past Saturday to get some info & make a reservation. I was a bit annoyed at first when I walked in because no one acknowledged me...I quickly got over it after I spoke with the salesperson. They guy that helped me (David) was so nice. He really helped me with my order and showed me everything he was speaking about and gave me the most cost-effective options. My order was very VERY small and it didn't matter. I thought that it would be an issue, but he assured me, it didn't matter. I could order as much or as little as i liked and they would fulfill it for me! So nice. Inquired on-line about renting coat racks for an event at local brewery. Received a quote that listed prices for customer pickup. I phoned the company to ask about delivery because I don't have a vehicle that is large enough to transport coat racks. I rented from TLC for our wedding reception in October 2012. Reuben called me at 8pm on Friday to say there was a "snafu" and they would not be able to deliver until 3pm day of our event that started at 4pm. I told him that would not work, we needed it in the morning so we could set up; he hung up on me so I called him back thinking it was a cell phone problem. He told me to "get over it" our party didn't start until 4pm and hung up on me again. My husband then called back to talk with Rueben, he hung up on him as well. In our limo ride just after getting married we had to scramble for plan B, called Rueben to say cancel everything as I have never been treated sp terrible, as before he hung up on me once again. These guys bent over backwards to make sure we were ready for our event. I did not order the correct anchor system because we decided to move the tent location at the last minute. The owner personally drove over new anchors after hours to accommodate us. All employees were professional, punctual, and did a great job with tent assemmbly and tAke down. I have rented from these guys many times before with no issue - it had actually been a rather pleasant and reasonable experience...until now. Grace and Reuben have no idea how to be professional with and/or deal squarely with customers. Grace badgered me the whole time during pick up about loading my truck and later then hung up the phone on my wife after she called my wife. Then Reuben made the drop off process equally unpleasant. He even resorted to personal and emotionally driven verbal attacks - not very professional. They should hire someone with the necessary skills to handle customer relations activities as neither Grace nor Reuben have what it takes. I received very bad customer service when I picked up my order, and they refused to return the copy they made of my Drivers License even after I had returned the merchandise that had been rented. When I explained to the manager why I did not want to leave a copy of my personally identifiable information sitting around their exceedingly disorganized office, he was very rude. I told him that he has lost the business of all of the different companies that I contract with, and I meant it. His response was to wave his hand in dismissal and tell me to get out of his office. Stopped in today to pickup the raffle drums that I reserved for an event. I was already impressed by the friendly service that i received on the phone from Rhonda, but that was also true once i arrived for pickup. Pickup was fast and easy. Just Sign your checkout slip and pull around to the side for pickup. If you have a few minute take a look around the lobby. You can get some great dinner party, or "fiesta" ideas for your table decor or outdoor ideas. I think they have a solution for any party dilemma you can think of. read more

This was very affordable for a last minute need, but I will never do business with them again. We ordered chairs for a company event and they delivered the chairs with no problem. Apparently my colleague was given a "window" of time where they were going to pick the chairs up the very next day. That "window" of time was "between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM." The driver nor the company were considerate enough to give us a call to notify us that they were on the way, and I'm not sure about anyone else but we definitely don't sit around twiddling our thumbs all day wishing for some type of excitement to come our way, especially in the form of a surprise visit from a vendor. Needless to say, my colleague and I were in a meeting when they decided to arrive without notice and because we were physically unavailable due to having such a huge "window" of time, we missed the driver and was charged an additional $63 to have the driver come back out tomorrow. Completely unacceptable and inconsiderate. The receptionist was also very bold enough to attempt to argue with me over the phone regarding the issue rather than being a true champion of customer service and realizing that we are a new company in their back yard with a huge need for event rentals given our current temporary office space. For what it is worth, they responded quickly but they were very unaccommodating and unprofessional and I will ensure that our company knows not to order linen and chairs from this vendor ever again and if they do, that they are aware of this situation and the nature of their customer service which is less than mediocre. read more

Unbelievably unprofessional and obviously not hungry for business. After essentially begging them to quote my event after 4 unanswered emails (over a week's period and being that is their "preferred method of contact" per the website) I am told that a customer service rep will call me immediately. 48 hours later I finally receive a call and am told that they cannot provide a quote based on the spreadsheet and floor plan that I provided but that he needs about 15 minutes to talk through my needs. Fine - but I don't have that 15 mins right at that time could we talk at another specified time? He says yes... then does not answer his phone at that specified time, nor the next 4 times I call over two weeks. I finally send him another email (for some reason, I really wanted to give them a chance) and I get a call back immediately. I am told that the spreadsheet and drawing are in the same file and that is too confusing to read. I ask if he could maybe print them out and look at them side by side... He then says "sure, give me a moment to print them". At this time, I answer a quick question for someone in my office (less than 10 seconds) and then I get an "excuse me, I need you to focus"... Um... you know what - I changed my mind - I don't think I need TLC to quote this event. You don't treat your customers horribly and expect them to be excited about putting their event rental needs in your hands. I'm honestly terrified of the type of service I would actually get at my event... Be careful... read more

My experience with TLC Rents was horrible. I found Reuben and Grace to be shady and liars. I called up TLC R and spoke with Grace to request a highboy table, which she told me they had in-stock and was available. In less than 1/2 hour after speaking with Grace I arrived at TLC to pay for and pick up the highboy. Grace was on the phone when I arrived so Reuben was the one I spoke with regarding why I was there. He was not friendly or welcoming and proceeded to tell me that they had no HB in-stock. I told him I spoke with Grace a few minutes ago and she confirmed that there was a highboy available and that I can come right away to collect it. It was obvious that something had changed or something untoward was taking place with me renting this HB. Eventually I met with Grace who tried to change her talk about the HB being available. After a few awkward minutes of being back and forth with Reuben and fiddling with the phone suddenly a HB was available. However the size (Round Top 30"rd x 42"tall) I requested and told was available I did not received, instead I was given a Round Top 24"rd x 42" tall. They never informed me that they were changing the size. Even though I realized that that size was different than what I had requested, I did not make any fuss about this because the price was the same for both size and I felt that they had some reservation about having me as a customer. To make matters worse, when I paid for the rental of the HB I gave Grace a debit and a credit card. I said to her please try the debit card first if it goes through then you won't have to use my credit card. Grace tries my Debit Card and the charge goes through. Shortly after this, I noticed her writing down the number of my credit card and I said to her why are you writing down the number of my CC when my DC accepted the charge? She began talking all nervous and gave me some answer that made absolutely no sense. I immediately asked for the paper on which she had written down my CC number without my permission, she gave it to me without hesitation. This further made me feel that her and the entire company really did not care to do business with me and were somewhat shady. I left there knowing that I will never do business with them again and couldn't help but wonder if the color of my skin was what made them behave the way they did read more

I had the the BEST experience working with Maryclaire Andres and TLC Rents on the decor for my children's B'nai Mitzvah celebration at the Opera Nightclub Atlanta. TLC Rents was very competitively priced and Maryclaire met with me prior to the event to show me samples of very cool spandex table cloths which she price matched with the more traditional cotton table cloths I had been considering using. Maryclaire unfortunately had a family emergency prior to our party and the pictures of the table decor she planned for us, never left her Inbox. When I saw the pictures, they were not as I had hoped they'd be. Instead of giving me grief, she was very client focused and quickly surprised me with crystal trees for the tables that were lit from the bottom. She communicated with me a zillion times and single-handedly made sure my event decor was perfect. She also was there personally the day of the event to set up and made sure I liked what I saw and was happy. The decor was amazing, from the centerpieces, to the light up cube tables, and the candle lighting ceremony display she created was gorgeous. I give her a 10! The sales people weren't especially helpful and one seemed downright annoyed when I asked questions. I picked up my order without problems (the guy who loaded my car was very friendly and helpful), but when I got home and took everything out, I had some problems. The 20 chairs were fine, but the 40 plates I ordered weren't clean and I found dried food particles on at least 5 or 6 of the plates and smudges on a few more. I ordered 40 white cloth napkins, and they sent two different types of napkins, one which was stiff and heavy, and one that was thin, off-white and flimsy. This made it impossible for me to fold them in a way that would look the same on both kinds. The silverware I ordered looked a little beat up, and upon further inspection realized that they weren't identical. The basic design was the same but the size and pattern had some variations, like they were different models of the same fork (some were rounded, some were square, but all had the same pattern). I was throwing a bridal shower for my sister and wanted things to look elegant, and the point of me spending the money to rent plates, forks and napkins was so that everything would MATCH. I can't recommend this company and don't plan on ever using them in the future. read more
