Money is not a issue to me as i already pay $500 a month for health insurance but the rude receptionist not only kept me waiting but told me only you can call your insurance company because its too time consuming to us. I simply asked her if i am in network with the office or is my insurance website wrong. Long story short if the lady was more nicer and simply said I'm sorry we do not take your insurance but you can pay out of pocket i would have became a new patient instead of telling me oh some insurances do or don't just ask them for procedure codes because its too time consuming for us. It must be too time consuming to be nice on the phone to a potential new client. I own a restaurant you do not treat clients like that.

For years I've had frozen shoulders on both sides but it was no longer painful and I didn't want…read moreany treatment, but while exercising to strengthen upper body muscles for Parkinson's, I did something to my right shoulder causing extreme pain on a Thursday. Friday it was so bad I tried to get into my Orthopedic specialists office for some help, but couldn't get in until the following Thursday. I called my pain doctor, and couldn't get in until Monday, and made an appointment. Saturday the pain was so severe I wanted to commit suicide. I went to as walk-in clinic to see what they could do. They did an X-ray that didn't show any break and figured it was just a sprain. I am also diabetic and steroid shots general play havoc with that condition and I try to avoid them if at all possible, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do and begged for a steroid shot to help with the pain. The doctor told me she couldn't put it directly in the shoulder, just the arm and wasn't sure it would help that much but I was willing to try anything and went for the shot that did nothing but throw my Blood sugars way off. On Monday I went to see my pain doctor. Didn't tell her about getting a steroid shot on Saturday, just described the pain and asked if she could inject a steroid shot in my shoulder. She could, and did, but it did nothing for the pain so Tuesday, I searched for an orthopedist who could see me promptly that day and found Dr. Lewis's office and especially surprised that he specialized in shoulders. I was lucky, they could see me that afternoon. I went in and sat with his nurse first to discuss what was going on, including the steroid shot I had on Saturday and Monday and she took notes. I told her I thought the steroid shots hadn't worked because they werre put in the wrong place. I then saw Dr. Lewis who personally took additional X-Rays, He said the shoulder looked fine and I didn't need to look at any replacement surgery anytime soon. Without telling him I had the earlier steroid shots, I told him I usually avoid steroid shots, but I was in such severe pain could he give me a shot in the shoulder and he said, "certainly, I'll go out and prepare one." He and his nurse left the room and were gone no more than 15 seconds when he walked back in and asked, "Did you just have a stteroid shot?" I explained what I had done and he said he couldn't give me another one for another 8 to 10 weeks and that the shot do work, but sometime take awhile to fully work. We scheduled a followup in 8 weeks. What that showed me was great communication between doctor and nurse that she knew to tell him quickly about my previous shots. The pain did subside for awhile, but has returned. On my 8 week appointment he recommended rehab and sent the referral over to the clinic I was already doing Parkinson's therapy. Five months later, the pain is still there and I've made an appointment to return and see if he wants to make a referral for any MRI to detect for a tear that wouldn't show up on an X-ray, and if so, should I do surgery to fix it. Don't know yet, but I can say I really think Dr. Lewis and his office staff are really great and very professional. I'd recommend them to anyone with a shoulder problem with the greatest confidence.

Love how it's in downtown safety harbor making everything look and feel warm and cozy. Once you open those doors you don't feel like you are in an office everything is very well structured. Beautiful calmly sensation takes over between the instrumental music, the toys and their waiting room setting. Each staff member is very thorough with explaining how appointments, meetings, evaluations will be, go and what to expect. Each call, text and email is very well explained in guiding you step by step on how to fill out each questionnaire requested. We had the opportunity to see and speak with Melissa Bailey, PsyD and it was completely awe-inspiring. From a teens (my child) point of view: "I liked how her office was decorated and how nice and welcoming everyone was." I truly recommend them. There is nothing wrong in seeking guidance.

In 2021 it was a little chaotic they switched buildings and it was very unorganized. We were in network when we started coming again in 2021. Unbeknownst to me at some point in 2021they dropped out of network with my insurance and did not inform me. One year after services I received an astronomical bill for each of my daughters. I was upset and called the office and they told me that they would look into it and agreed that it didn't make any sense. No one reached out to me. I ended up calling the insurance company and learned that this practice added extra dates-dates we weren't even there. I was charged OUT OF NETWORK costs for the visits. I am beyond upset and feel very betrayed. I believe they purposely waited over a year to send me the bill so I would not drop them knowing that they were no longer in network. So much for helping people's mental health. How deceitful!! I would advise never ever ever ever to attend this practice. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!

If I have a bad experience, I just vent to my mom or a friend and move on. But this time was different. I sobbed so hard in my car afterward that I felt the need to warn others. Here's what happened in just one visit: 1. He compared me to other patients and brushed off my pain ("you shouldn't feel that bad, other patients have been in pain longer than you"). 2. He literally told me he can't work with me because of how I think ("if you're going to have certain opinions about PT, then I can't help you"). 3. He cut me off and the visit felt rushed--"Hold on, I'm not finished talking yet"--as if my voice didn't matter. I felt completely degraded. It honestly felt like I paid $100 just to be roasted by my doctor. I left feeling smaller than when I walked in. This was the first time I've ever cried during and after a doctor's appointment. He lacked empathy, compassion, and any sense of professional bedside manner. The whole thing was disturbing, cold, and incredibly unprofessional. I do not recommend this doctor to anyone. Best of luck if you go--I hope your experience is better.

Hello Dr. Patel, I am so disappointed in your staff. From…read morethe time I called to get information from the front desk, to check on the authorization and referral for the Botox and now the Billing. It seems that the ladies at the front desk, alone with the ones in the back ( the one that's in charge of the authorization and referrals and Sam that's in the Billing Department are giving out conflicting information. Each time I called to check on the authorization for the Botox I was given a different answer. I didn't get that straight until I called my insurance and they called over to the office. Now I received a bill for $262.30 that I wasn't prepared for. I called the office today, Sam told me when I asked what was this she replied and I quote that's what you owe your potion. Your insurance paid their part again and I quote. I asked why I wasn't told ahead of time about this copayment? She said that the front desk should've told me that I had a copayment. I replied they didn't. My ins called because they couldn't find the bill they found out it was under the nurse practitioners name. Sam said the front desk should've told me the front desk said no we don't give you that information Billing does and I quote. Dr Patel this is very dysfunctional the way they're running the front of the office. Had I known that I had to pay 20% I never would've agreed to get the Botox injections. Now I'm walking around with a lifted eyebrow due to the Botox after I did my research and how am I going to get this fixed now that I don't plan to get anymore treatments because I can't pay for them? I am truly sickened and disappointed over this. This has nothing to do with the care that you render. I'm very satisfied with that. This star rating only refers to Dr Patel, his nurse and his nurse practitioner.
